The Coffee Shop in a Different World Station

5 First Class Beauty and Dessert Set

"Huh? Reservations......?

One afternoon, Takumi was bewildered by an order from the "station manager”, a man who had accumulated a white moustache and wrapped himself in a double collared suit with gold buttons. “Station Manager”, who puts his hat on the table and enjoys cinnamon coffee, continues to talk to Takumi with a gentle smile, just as it is expected that Takumi will be bewildered.

"Um, at the request of a certain customer. Apparently, I heard about this coffee shop somewhere, and the story fits that I wanted to visit it once. Coming this way is due in three days. They will arrive on the second flight. I'll be there too, so I guess that means booking for two."

"Okay. But the second flight arrival will be a little late for lunch...... I can't even prepare a regular lunch menu, should I have something else for you?

"No, that's it, actually, I already have an order. She won't mind a light meal after lunch. It's just boring with things like tacos and chips. Something that surprises me like I've never eaten before is what you want. What do you say? Can you do it?

Takumi growls unintentionally while wearing her arms.

"Hmmm what a difficult order...... When it comes to what I've been serving here, it's about a roll sandwich arrangement at best, but that's boring..."

To Takumi's words, "Station Manager" snorts.

"When you do that... um, you can't really think of anything. I'm in trouble......"

"What about the cake set? Oh, Mr. Station Manager, it's a hiccup."

Nyarch suddenly jumped from behind. Takumi gets frightened for a moment, but he pinches and lifts the root of Nyarch in such a way as to hide the surprise.

"Come on, don't suddenly get behind me."

"Huh. But I wanted to mix it up because we were having a fun conversation."

Nyarch hanging around with his roots grabbed. It seems somewhat reflective. Takumi reiterated his earlier suggestion when he took his hand off the root of Nyarch.

"So, what is it? Cake set?"

"That's right! Cake! It's a classic coffee shop! I used to ask for a cake set or something at the store I used to go to!

"Oh, speaking of which... but when it comes to making the cake, the powder..."

When opening a coffee shop in the station building, Takumi also thought about putting the cake on the menu. But in making cakes, there were big walls in this world. Yes, you can't get the key 'flour'. In this world, wheat is apparently not grown, and corn flour is used mainly for bread and tortillas that become staple foods. Corn flour is of course delicious, but unlike flour it does not contain gluten, making it quite difficult to give it a moist and plump texture. Besides, corn flour still has a unique corn flavor, and although it is not a problem to use for meal bread, this habit has become a little troublesome to use for cakes, etc. For this reason, only 'solid system pancakes' could be served with confidence by Takumi so far.

If powder with properties close to flour is obtained, the cake system, as well as the cooking repertoire, can be increased... Takumi had an unexpectedly sinister look at how difficult it was together. Seeing that look, the station manager calls out.

"Hmm...... Shouldn't I powder this?

The station manager points to the lunch menu. Takumi confirms the station manager's intention to hold his finger unreadable.

"You mean the patter (potato) in the curry? I do think it could be single-chestnut flour if processed, but unfortunately I thought it would be unsuitable for cake making."

"No, no, not that way. I'm talking about Arrows over here. This is one of the cereals, right?

Takumi was hacked by the words. Why didn't you come up with that before...... Arrows are grains - or 'comedy' - that, when sprinkled with seeds in spring, yield white, elongated fruit in the golden shell in autumn. In this world, the fruit shell of the arrows dried after harvest is often taken and the white fruit part inside is boiled with water or soup. He also used it as a classic on the "Swallow" lunch menu, as well as the "Rice and Rice" A lunch.

And if you powder the arrows, it's rice flour itself. It can definitely be used as a powder close to flour. It may be difficult to make noodles and bread because comedy doesn't contain gluten either, but it doesn't seem like a problem if it's originally a kind of cake that uses thin powder with less gluten. That, too, would work better if 'the powder is not the main cake'...... Takumi felt pieces of the puzzle that were splattered in her head coming together.

"Thank you! I was finally able to come up with one thing that seemed to please me. May I take care of it?

Finally, “Station Manager" nodded satisfactorily at the smiling takumi.

"Well, I hope so."

"I'm going to help you with a lot of Nyarch too! Eat a lot of cake!

"Is that a help? … but don't ask for a tasting."

If Nyachi could create a satisfactory flavor, he would surely be pleased with the customer...... Takumi placed more trust in Nyachi's taste than anything else. Takumi was pompous stroking Nyarch's head as she replied.

◇ ◇ ◇

From that night on, Takumi got to the prototype quickly. On the kitchen table wrapped in a hint of brightness by the lamp lights, a large chunk of white just made is left wrapped in a thin white narcotic cloth. Takumi spoons some of the chunks to check for flavor. The intense milk taste spread all over my mouth, as well as the citrus juice I put inside played a refreshing fragrance. Takumi nodded one at the performance of this white lump, which was the main ingredient this time, and headed to the pantry.

Takumi removed it from the pantry with fresh raw cream and eggs purchased this morning, sugar featuring a rich, slightly browned flavor used in "This World," and another powdered arrow. For today I grinded the arrows using the stone molars in the kitchen, but the arrows before I put them through the fire were very hard and took a lot of effort to powder them. In the future, if we are going to use it in large quantities, we need to ask somewhere to powder the arrows... Takumi made me think so.

After finishing all the ingredients, Takumi put the usual black apron together on her hips to get to work. Start by placing the earlier “white mass” in a bowl and work it out well with a foam. Then, the white mass slowly dissolves and becomes pasty. Add plenty of sugar to it and mix, followed by breaking in the eggs and mixing, then shake in more of the powder of the arrows and mix. The pasty dough became even smoother when the ingredients were added and mixed in turn. Finally, raw cream was added and subtracted, and sufficiently mixed in a foam maker was placed in a rectangular metal mould with butter tucked away, dropped on the table with a ton and several times to drain the air, and then put into an oven stove preheated over low heat.

Takumi adds firewood as she stares at the firepower of the oven stove with a serious look. The oven stove in this kitchen is a “station manager" specialty, which is pretty good for this era. But there couldn't be a knob on the temperature setting or anything like the modern day when Takumi was there, and adjusting the temperature depended on one way to put the firewood in. It was necessary to continue to adjust the firepower with great care, especially when it needed to be cooked "carefully at low temperatures", as in this case. During the period until it was baked up, Takumi did not leave the oven stove for a moment and continued adding firewood with due care not to make the fire too strong.

And by the time all the sand falling in the process of flipping the biggest hourglass in this kitchen three times, it was finally time to bake. When the dough that was baking in the oven stove was taken from mold to mold, the creamy dough, which was only about half the mold before baking, was warmed by heat and swelled to about 1.5 times the height of the mold, causing the surface to colour sturdy and tight. Takumi stabs a thin wooden skewer to check how it is cooked. Apparently, there's no problem. Takumi takes a sigh of relief and moves the baked one over the kitchen table. While waiting for the coarse heat to be removed from the dough, carefully wash the foam, bowl, etc., and also clean up on the table. While doing so, the dough with the coarse heat was a little squishy, but this is also within schedule. When the dough removed from the mould was cut with a knife, a pale yellow colour appeared from the inside, like custard cream. Takumi speaks to Nyarch, who would be taking his time upstairs from the bottom of the stairs when he is satisfied with the flourishing of the end by a pinch. Not so much, I could hear healthy footsteps coming down the stairs, as usual.

"Ojo! Did I call you? I called you, hey!?

Just as he couldn't wait for the prototype to be ready, Nyarch gets to the table with his eyes sparkling. Takumi pours the warm and placed cinnamon coffee over the oven stove ceiling into the cup and places it on the table along with the prototype just made. Now, what words pop up... Takumi waited to see Nyachi's words.

These, Takumi and Nyarch nights, were repeated three times after this day, and a new dish that we could confidently serve to our customers was to be added to the menu of the coffee shop Tsubame.

◇ ◇ ◇

And on the day of the appointment, the second flight of the day arrived on time. Takumi left the usual ticket work to the “station manager”, who was working on preparing the menu for the booking guests. Some time after the arrival of the second flight, the door of the 'swordfish' made a noise with Karan Karan Karan.

"This is the rumored store. It's a little rough, but it doesn't feel so good."

The woman who came in through the door was skinny, tall and in a style reminiscent of the model. The black straight hair was long enough to reach the waist, wielding a very hazy presence while the simple outfit of a white blouse and black long trousers. Parallel to the “station manager” who came in after her - although older, tall, disappointing, and quite handsome - it was like a scene in a movie or something.

"Oh, are you a booking customer? I've been waiting for you! Please, we have a seat for you."

Nyarch guides the customer and the station manager to a table with a bill marked RESERVED. The "station manager" gently pulled the chair and escorted the woman, who also sat in a meeting to respond to it. The woman had a casual atmosphere, but one trick at a time was full of elegance, making the upper class atmosphere disappointing.

"It's Sophia. I've always been very helpful to the“ station manager ”Odysama. Are you Nyarch?

Sophia speaks to Frank Nyarch at the top of her head.

"Oh yeah! Nyarch is Nyarch! Today, I just came all the way out here. I just... got it, oh, thank you. Thank you so much!

Whether nervous or elegant, Sophia suppresses her mouth and smiles with couscous as Nyarch greets her with a rare and slight bite.

"You're as healthy as I was asking you to be. Nice to meet you, Nyarch."

"You're right! Nice to meet you! Let me confirm your order. The station manager has booked two cake sets. Uh, coffee, milk for drinks, and, uh, you can choose from Naranha (orange) juice today, which one would you like?

"Hey...... well, which beverage is the best one for something called cake?

"Um, any cake tastes good today, but if it's a gnocchi, it tastes like you want it to go with your coffee. But whether it's milk or naranha juice, it's gonna fit."

"Thank you. Then I'll make coffee. What about Odysama?"

"Hmm, then I'll have some coffee, too."

"Well, two coffees."

"Yes, I did! Now, two cake sets, both for coffee. Please wait a minute."

When Nyarch wrote the order down on paper, he met with Pepper and headed to the counter with the kitchen. Even from behind, I can well see the black cat ears on my head moving. “Station Manager" speaks to Sofia, staring at the condition with his eyes narrowed.

"Sounds like a lot of fun."

"Yeah, as I imagined in Odysama's story, no, he was a charming, funny kid for more than that. Oh, I wish you'd let me have a shop in our city."

"Well, this is also called edge. It must have been a necessary edge for this city of Harpertown."

Sophia began to boyaki as she slammed the word slightly and stuck it to her desk as much as she could to see where the elegant and graceful tricks had gone earlier.

"Uh, I don't know if there's any good luck coming to me either..., if possible, a single handsome man, full of work, bureaucracy and privacy, plus someone who can help me raise my kids and stuff properly..."

"Isn't that a little too greedy? Or is it not the desire of the Lord himself?

"Hehe. Barletta?"

When Sophia stepped aside and put her tongue out, “Station Manager" laughed bitterly that it was troublesome. As we continued to interact like that, Nyarch showed up with a basin in his hand, a man wrapped around a black cafe apron - with Takumi.

"My name is Takumi, acting station manager and store manager. Welcome to Harpertown, and the coffee shop," The Swarm. "

"It's Sophia. I've been looking forward to today. Is this the cake?

On a plate of white porcelain in a slightly smaller square shape placed in front of Sophia was food cut into fans. What a beautiful contrast between the tight colour on the top and the light yellow colour of the soft texture of the cross section. Next to it was a sauce that felt as bright and slightly fluffy as milk and cornbread sliced thinly and cut into rectangles.

"Yes. We had it in baked cheesecake today. Serve this cream sauce as desired. Your cornbread has been baked and rusked twice, so please revisit it. Yes, we don't add sugar to cinnamon coffee to match the sweetness of the cake. Try drinking without sugar at first and adding sugar from your sugar pot as you watch for additions and subtractions. Now, take your time."

Takumi explained that, he again had an in-depth meeting and took Nyarch back to the kitchen. Sophia stares at the cake set again. It's a menu I've never seen, but what an appetite. First, cut the tip of the fan with a fork in an attempt to enjoy the flavor as it is. The feeling conveyed to my hand was as heavy as I thought and I could ask that it was a solid fabric. The cake, which was cut into bite-sized triangles, was carried into the mouth.

"Damn, this is so thick!! And so sweet!

Sophia accidentally speaks to her voice and admires her. The first spread in the mouth was the intense flavour as if the milk had been extracted only from the core area. Furthermore, the sweetness of the sugar, which would have been used plenty, had been added to create a neat flavour. The taste so intense is very similar to Kesso, a preserved food made from milk. Maybe cheese is a kind of Kesso. However, Kesso is a preserved food but thus many have unique saltiness and smell, and Kesso had no idea of such a purely milk-enriched flavor.

As I proceeded to eat two or three bites, I noticed that there was now a hint of acidity in the sweetness. This refreshing acidity will probably be limon (lemon) fruit juice. Combining limon in the dough was refreshing the aftertaste of the intense flavor, which would eventually tend to be heavy.

Then Sophia grabs the coffee cup. I usually enjoy sweetness and bitterness with plenty of sugar, but today I decided to just take the first bite as recommended by the store owner. If you bring the cup closer to your mouth, the scent of cinnamon placed in the coffee will tickle your nose. With the first bite in your mouth, the unique bitterness and acidity of the coffee, as well as the slight sweetness and slight spiciness produced by the cinnamon, expand. I imagined it would be bitter and I couldn't drink it, but I didn't feel so bad because I was eating baked cheesecake first, but rather it had renewed my sweetened mouth. If this is the case, there certainly doesn't have to be any sugar...... Sofia realised once again that the shopkeeper's suggestion was something that got the aim.

Sophia goes on to eat more cake. A white cream sauce adds a fresh milk flavor, giving it a milky flavor slightly different from the earlier intensity. If you put it on a pairing cornbread and have it with you, the crisp texture and aroma of the twice baked cornbread will be added to give it a different flavor. Sophia is deeply touched by its intense flavor for the first time, while slowly indulging in the last slice, she turns her mind around. And when I finished my last bite, I called out to the counter. Sophia greeted Takumi with a passionate hug as Takumi turned to a table with Sophia in response to that voice

"Thank you for today, Takumi! We had a really great experience!

Takumi is surprised by the unexpected hospitality and gets dodgy. I couldn't let the customer go, and once it was a takumi to accept, it was inevitable that my spine felt a little cold. After a beat, Takumi thanked Sofia as she softly moved away.

"You seem to care, most importantly"

"This is definitely for sale! Hey, if you want, could you let me help you, too?

Takumi was honestly happy that Sophia offered so much, but as for herself to know the difficulty of this story, she had to look unwittingly bitter.

"Thank you so much for the high praise. However, I was wondering if it would be difficult when it comes to mass production and sales. First of all, I use homemade cutlet cheese made from fresh milk for this cake, so unfortunately it doesn't get sunny at room temperature. With the recent climate, if left at room temperature, it would hurt you without holding it for a day. If you are a guest who has thus booked in advance and you want to enjoy it immediately on this occasion, it is possible to make it in advance with the time, but at this stage it is difficult to prepare it in advance. And this cheesecake, to be honest, took a lot of time and effort to make, and it's going to sound like the coffee shop itself every day."

Sophia hears Takumi's words with a serious look and responds as she organizes them one by one.

"Okay. The challenge is the idea of making the sun shine, the production system. Anything else bothering you?

He was usually a takumi who didn't talk much about the struggles in the kitchen, but he carefully conveyed them one by one to Sofia's passionate and sincere eyes.

"Right......, and there are material issues as well. This time I use rice flour for this cake......, I grind the arrows and powder them, but as you know the raw arrows are actually very hard and I have had a great deal of difficulty grinding them in stone molars. Other than that, we need fresh milk, eggs, etc."

"I see. But if the powder of the arrows is going to come together in a certain amount, I think I can handle it. It's hard in people's hands. But, look, what is it? Steam engines that have recently become used? The power of will make it easy."

"Huh? Can you powder the arrows? If that's what you can ask for, it would be very helpful because you can also widen the range for cooking..."

"I have a knot, so I'll ask you once. If it's going to work, I'll get back to you through the station manager, Odysama. But I don't know if it's going to work yet, so don't expect too much."

Takumi was really thrilled and full of it, while Sofia answered brightly with Kerakera in the sense that nothing was wrong. Unlike very expensive wheat on imports only, if Arrose powder, a locally produced and inexpensive grain, is routinely available, it will have a much wider menu that can be made than ever before. Of course, it won't be a complete substitute for flour, but it could also be used for fried clothes, and it could be challenging for the ever difficult fermented bread. Takumi was turning her thoughts around early after she got the powder of Arrows.

"Wow, Takumi, I think it's time to let go of that hand......, Mr. Sophia will be in trouble, and above all, you've got quite a sharp glance coming from over there"

Takumi, finally returning to me after a gentle note from the “station manager”, realizes that she was holding Mr. Sophia's hand tightly and hurries to release her hand. And when I turned around...... I could see a cohabitant standing with his cat ears peened, his pupils narrowed and staring at this one. This sucks. We have to solve the misunderstanding later... Takumi switched her mind to sales mode again, feeling the cold sweat transmitted to her spine.

◇ ◇ ◇

Sophia was already in the car that evening. He nodded deeply on the soft sofa of the first class car, reflecting on his precious experience with the "swordfish".

(The biggest problem is the sunshine part, but if I can really make it practical, I think I can handle it)

Sophia was remembering one research issue that one of her investors was working on. The research is “artificially creating cold air and creating ice. I don't know if it's going to work out really well yet, but if that's really going to happen, it's going to make an innovative difference in people's lives. Sophia Marimaid, an up-and-coming female banker (bunker), was sniffing the smell of a“ new business ”that would be born in the future.

(And next time you come over here, I'll have to bring that kid with me, too)

Sophia was remembering a cook's apprenticeship girl named Natl who had recently started working at her parents' house. If I hadn't heard from her about this store, maybe I would have stayed out of contact with the 'swordfish' forever. Sophia was convinced that it was worth twelve minutes, although she was to throw in the precious time of half a day she managed to twist for a visit to the 'swordfish' of only two hours.

(But I didn't know Nyachi was Takumi's wife. If I were single, I would have definitely been in motion...... well, you mean good guys aren't sold that way)

It was Sophia who had accumulated a track record of using sharp observation and passionate behavior as a weapon to connect people to people's "edges," but I was saddened that it was such a sluggish thing to the "edges" against me. Still, Sophia swore so to her heart as she watched the sunset seen through the window, believing that one day those 'edges' would come around to her and now let's move on to work.
