The Coffee Shop in a Different World Station

54 Informal luncheon with foreign guests (5/5 pt.)

"Excuse me. I brought you the main dish of the day"

Carlos, who placed an oversized plate in the center of the table that he carried on a wooden wagon,

Remove the silver dome cover with a word.

As soon as the hot air fluttered up, the middle hall was occasionally wrapped in a large twist.

What emerged from the hot air was a dish that, at first glance, also looked like a bread, following the shape of a large fish.

The surface, baked in a fox colour, glows brilliantly, and the appetite is stimulated by the fragrant aroma that rises with the hot air.

Everyone surrounding the table breathed in its splendid appearance.

"What a brilliant... And what if it's used...?

Talk as Tolu squeezes out his voice as he gobbles and throats.

to the words. Sophia smiled and slowly opened her mouth as she agreed

"Yeah, this is a dish called 'Salmon (Salmon) Baked in Pie'. The pie that wraps the surface is, as you can see, made of flour (...). Yes, if it gets cold, the food will be ruined. Sort it out."

Sophia gives instructions for service with a Rin look.

Carlos nodded cocklessly at the words, once he returned the large plate from the table to the wagon.

Carlos, with a large fork and knife in his hand, prepared, slowly puts the knife in as the row attendants peek at him, including Tolu.

What emerged from it, cut into rings making a pleasant noise with parisi, was a beautiful layer of a slightly pink stained salmon body and vibrant green vegetables.

Carefully not to collapse it, but quickly split it into plates, gently flushed white sauce all around it before carrying it in front of the row attendants.

"Enjoy, please"

A loud nod to Sophia's recommendation, Tolu slices the pie wrapped grill, still slightly hot, into large bites with a knife.

And when I applied just a little bit of white sauce, I carried it to my big mouth.

Close your eyes and savor thoroughly.

The first surprise was the texture of the fabric on the surface.

The fabric on its surface, with its thin fabrics overlapping on many layers, is fragrant as a parsley, with a truly rich flavour of intense butter.

Excellent material inside.

The salmon, wrapped in dough and baked, is moist and soft and full of juicy, even though the fire is well through.

Under the salmon, thin slices of laid seboria (onions) were also fully sweetened by the careful addition of heat.

The green part would probably be espinaca (spinach).

The slightly bitter taste of this finely carved espinaca is a good accent.

And the mellow taste of the white sauce that felt the flavor of the cream had brought these together, creating an unparalleled superb flavor.

For a while, Tolu quietly eats the pie wrapped grill as if he had forgotten the words too. It was not until I finished eating more than half that I spoke out again.

"Excuse me, I'm obsessed with what I did eating. This is what you say about being distracted..."

"Those words, the cooks will welcome you. I think I've seen your mouth."

"Oh, it tastes really good. Especially the skin on this surface, did you say pie? This is really great. The outside is delightful with its crisp texture and aroma, and the inside also fully inhales the texture of the ingredients, which is itself a superb delicacy. It's enough to make me want to eat up to your minute."

"Oh, Master Tolu. If they do that, they'll be at war. Food grudges are really scary, okay?

"Whoa, that's true. Excuse me again for this."

The light-mouthed Tolu and Sophia leak laughter at each other.

Carlos, watching over them in the corner of the room, was relieved of his chest.

―――――

"I brought you dessert after dinner!

It was Nyarch who carried the last item, dessert, on the tray.

From behind it comes Takumi as he pushes the wagon.

As Nyarch lined up his dessert in front of each row of seats, Takumi approached the table and pulled up a small plate with the "cha” leaves he was using as incense.

"Oh, is that going to be cleaned up already?

"Yeah, at the end of the day, I hope you enjoy this one in its original form."

Takumi says so, adding the “cha” leaves that have completely changed color to brown in a pot of pottery.

And he poured in the hot water he was carrying in another pot and immediately covered the lid.

Takumi lines up the cup and saucer quickly while the hourglass sand falls.

When so little and the sand fell off, he poured the “cha” he could into each cup as he received the leaves with a fine net with a handle.

The liquid in the cup is pale and brown stained, and the unique fragrant aroma tickles the nostrils.

To its familiar colour and aroma, Tolu speaks to Takumi as he narrows his eyes.

I see, as “stir-fried cha," so...

"Yeah, because of the precious tea leaves, I was wondering if you could enjoy it to the end, and let me take this form. Attached is a gallator (cracker) made from an earlier pie dough. What's on it is a filling - a sweet cooked jam of beans."

"Ho, bean jam? Out of my way..."

Tolu quickly reaches for the cracker and throws it into his mouth.

And when I chewed with crispness and sound, I nodded again and again in a way that seemed really satisfying.

"This is great, too. The base of the galata and the dot is crisp and fragrant, while the jam of the beans is once again deliciously sweet. And if you“ stir fried cha "up your lively mouth..."

Saying so, Tolu lifts the cup to his mouth, and leans quietly.

After a while, Gokun and his throat slipped, and he took a big breath.

"What a blessing. Lord Sophia, thank you so much for inviting me to such a wonderful seat today. Thanks to you, we're going to be able to have the best souvenir stories."

"Thank you for your words. Pretty much all of today's luncheon setup was Takumi's idea."

"Oh! So that wrapping grill is also at his disposal?

"Yeah, the wrapping, the appetizers, the soup, and this dessert, it's all Takumi's idea."

"I see......, yes! Like Lord Takumi. I'd love to tell you one thing about today's cooking, can I ask you something?

Before answering Tolu's question, Takumi sends a glimpse into Sofia.

And I noticed that. I made sure Sophia nodded back, and then opened her mouth again.

"If it's something I can answer, please tell me what it is"

"Thank you. Actually, I'd like to ask you something."

Tolu takes the dessert in his hand, saying so, pointing to the part of the gallator on which it is based.

"Did you say this was the same wrapped and roasted skin you had earlier? I really enjoyed this crispy, indescribable texture, and it was wonderful. However, the strange thing is the structure of this. How can you tell me how I can overlap so many thin pieces of fabric? Or is it some kind of secret way of making it?

"No, it's not so much about secrets. This is pie fabric made in a way called folding. Simply put, we make it by wrapping the flour in butter stretched with dough made by practicing with water, folding it and stretching it, folding it and repeating the task of……. This way you can overlap a layer of flour dough with a lot of butter layers and create a shape where this is how thin dough stacks up"

"I see. But for folding and overlapping the fabric, is that something that works so well? I have an image that's going to stick to one more thing..."

"I have a few ideas, but is the big point to mention that you use 'cold butter'? The dough really crumbles when the butter melts, so it's important to protect the layer of dough securely with a layer of cold, hardened butter. And the other thing is, actually, this dough doesn't really work without 'flour'."

"Well, can't you do it with arrose powder?

"Yeah, I've tried it a couple of times too, but I can't be satisfied with any other powder. I need to make this pie dough into an extremely thin dough, but it really seems to require the nature of 'flour' to do so. Today, we are privileged by this opportunity to prepare, as a 'dish that must be made with flour', a pie wrapped grill, and a gallator made with pie dough"

Takumi answers Tolu with the usual glittering look on her face.

However, choosing a dish that makes use of flour was also the biggest difficulty for Takumi at this luncheon.

In this world, a dish made with flour, a precious product, is a symbol of the utmost hospitality and has a strong “message" of informing the country of its national power.

For this reason, even in this reception hotel (Royal House), a simple “bread” is usually served as a dish that uses flour, and it is common to have a lot of bread eaten along with soup and main dishes.

Takumi, however, wanted to make the most of the flour characteristics because she uses flour.

That's how I chose "folded pie fabric".

“Folding pie dough", which is difficult to finish as intended in gluten-free arrow flour, mace flour, etc., was precisely "a dish that had to be made with flour".

And not only that, but also the surprise and emotion required as the main dish, and above all the thought and ingenuity of cooking to give you a full taste of the deliciousness of pie dough, led to the selection of "Baked Salmon Pie Wrapped" and "Pie Dough Gallator".

"I see. No, the concern came from the food wonderfully, too. We had a really valuable experience. Thanks."

Saying so, Tolu stands up in his seat and bows his head toward Takumi.

To emulate it, all the rows of seats on the side of the Houlai State took their seats and bowed their heads to Takumi.

Suddenly, when Takumi is solidified, Carlos pounds on his shoulder.

"Let's take it honestly here. Mr. Takumi."

"... ok. Ladies and gentlemen, it is most important that you enjoy this one. Thank you very much."

Takumi also bows her head deeply so as to respond to the highest praise.

A round of applause from no one would ever honor the successful actor of this luncheon.
