Chapter 309: The Forge Twins’ Domain
CRACK.
The barrier around the hole shattered completely. Fragments of translucent energy dissolved into the air—fzzzt—and the hole expanded. The ground trembled—rumble—as the earth reshaped itself, revealing the pocket dimension below.
A Sea of Flames.
That was the only way to describe it. A vast, blazing inferno stretched across the bottom of the hole—an underground ocean of fire. At the center of the fiery sea sat a single island. And on that island, a blazing, sentient inferno pulsed with primordial power.
The Heavenly Flame.
Hundreds of cultivators rushed forward. Greed override caution. They leaped into the hole—whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—descending toward the flames.
SCREAM.
SCREAM.
The extreme heat hit them instantly. Those below the Spirit Soul realm didn’t even have time to react. Their bodies ignited—FWOOM—reduced to ash mid-fall. Screams echoed through the chamber as dozens burned to nothing. AHHH— Silence. Ash drifted downward like grey snow.
The remaining cultivators stopped. Mana barriers flared—vvvm—as those with Peak Mana Heart cultivation reinforced themselves. Those with Tier 4 body cultivation pushed through the heat, their physical durability absorbing the thermal assault.
Kael, Yenna, and Ravenna entered.
Kael’s Tier 5 Aura activated—hummm—the golden shimmer expanding around his body. He projected it outward—covering Yenna and Ravenna in his aura shield. The heat pressed against the barrier—sizzle—but his Aura absorbed it, converting the thermal energy into ambient aura that fed back into his system.
They descended.
At the bottom, they arrived in a massive sub-realm—an underground world.
Kael’s eyes widened.
Whoa.
The underground world was breathtaking. A vast cavernous space, kilometers across, stretched in every direction. The ceiling arched hundreds of meters overhead, studded with bioluminescent crystals that bathed everything in warm amber and gold light.
A city stood below them.
Dwarven architecture. Enormous structures carved directly from the living rock. Massive forges lined the main thoroughfare—cold now, their fires extinguished for five thousand years, but their sheer scale awe-inspiring. Streets were lined with weapon shops, armorers, and toolmakers—each one a storefront carved with runic insignias. Underground rivers of cooled magma snaked between buildings—dark, glassy veins of solidified stone.
"It’s a city," Yenna murmured.
Cultivators scattered across the underground world. Some headed for treasure vaults. Some for the flame. Some just explored, gawking at the architecture.
Kael analyzed his surroundings. His Spirit Eyes swept the city—flicker—and his memory pulled up the Void Realm map. The map had pointed to this location as the holy ground of the Forge Twins—Tharum and Dorum. The twin dwarf Court Heads who had forged weapons of such power that even the other Court Heads coveted them.
"This is the Forge Twins’ domain," Kael said. "Tharum and Dorum."
Yenna looked at him. "You seem to know what you’re looking for."
Ravenna leaned in, her green eyes probing. "You seem to know a lot of things, Kael love. What exactly are you after?"
Kael ignored her. Hhhh. He couldn’t wait for Ravenna to go away.
Yenna reached into her storage ring. "I mostly came here for a specific fire fruit." She pulled out a small, crystalline fruit—pale blue, radiating cold energy—and tossed it to Kael. "Iceheart Fruit. It can help you in case you reach a place of extreme heat."
Kael caught it. Catch. His Spirit Eyes confirmed it—Iceheart Fruit. Contains condensed Yin energy. Temporarily grants extreme heat resistance when consumed.
"Thanks," Kael said.
They separated. Yenna headed east toward what looked like an herbal garden. Ravenna raised her hands in mock surrender and walked away—step, step—disappearing into a side street.
Kael walked through the city.
The streets were a labyrinth. Narrow passages, winding corridors, interconnected courtyards—and traps. Everywhere. Pressure plates. Runic formations. Collapsing floors.
Kael’s soul sense mapped the traps—thrum—each one registered as a fluctuation in the ambient mana. His knowledge of rune formations allowed him to read the trigger patterns—flicker—and bypass them without activating the sequences.
Step. Step. Step.
He weaved through the city effortlessly. Behind him, a cultivator who had followed the same path stepped on a pressure plate. FWOOSH. A fire formation activated—BOOM—and the man was incinerated instantly. Thud.

Kael didn’t look back.
He left the city behind and entered a foggy zone.
The fog was thick, obscuring everything beyond three meters. Kael activated his Cloak of Flight and rose into the air—hummm—navigating through the fog using his soul sense.
But something was wrong.
His soul sense—105 meters of extraordinary perception—was being disrupted. The fog contained some kind of interference that scrambled spiritual perception, reducing his effective range. His soul sense flickered—fzzzt—images distorting, distances warping.
What—
SLAM!
Two massive shapes burst from the fog—CRASH—and struck Kael simultaneously from both sides. The impact launched him—WHOOSH—through the air. He crashed into a stone pillar—CRASH—and rubble exploded around him.
Hhhh...
Kael pushed himself up from the debris. Creak. His Tier 5 body had absorbed the impact leaving him with no real damage.
His Spirit Eyes activated and he saw them.
Two golems. Three meters tall each. Humanoid. Made of a dark, dense metal that Kael’s Spirit Eyes identified as Void-Adamantite—one of the rarest forging materials in existence. The metal was laced with rune inscriptions—thousands of them—covering every inch of their surfaces. Artificial mana cores pulsed within their chests—thrum-thrum—powering the runic framework that gave them animation.
Fascinating, Kael thought. The Forge Twins built these? This is golem architecture and construction at its peak.
But five thousand years without maintenance had degraded them. Their mana cores were weakened—their power reduced to Peak Mana Heart. Even so, their Void-Adamantite bodies and runic enhancements meant they outclassed a regular Peak Mana Heart cultivator. A normal cultivator would be crushed.
Kael formed a hand sign.
"SHADOW PHANTOMS."
WHUUUM.
Six shadow clones materialized from his darkness—pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop—each one radiating 45% percent of his stats. They moved immediately—three per golem—engaging the constructs in close combat.
CLANG! CRASH! CLANG!
The phantoms couldn’t damage the Void-Adamantite bodies—their strikes bouncing off harmlessly. But the golems couldn’t catch the phantoms either. The Shadow constructs were too fast, too slippery. The phantoms held the golems in stalemate—distracting them, buying time.
Kael sat down cross-legged as he closed his eyes.
His soul shifted.
THRUM.
A dark translucent shape emerged from Kael’s chest. Formed of condensed soul energy—dark as midnight, covered in runic patterns that pulsed with Slaughter Intent and soul power.
Kael’s soul left his body.
In this Soul Manifestation stage—with his soul projected outside his physical form—his perception expanded. His soul sense stretched outward, bypassing the fog’s interference.
His soul hung in the air—hummm—a dark, runic apparition radiating cold malice.
