Chapter 557 - 553: Completely Severing Ties
"Yun Hao, take Wen Wan home," Village Chief Xu called out, his face grim as he noticed Yun Hao standing off to the side.
Yun Hao didn’t move.
It was Chen Xiaoli, standing beside him, who gave his arm a tug.
Only then did Yun Hao reluctantly approach Xu Wenwan. Just as he reached out to help her, she slapped his arm away.

Xu Wenwan wasn’t thinking about any of that. She was still fuming! With a cold expression, she started walking home by herself.
Though Xu Wenwan had cut her head, it wasn’t a serious injury—just a small gash that had already stopped bleeding.
Chen Xiaoli didn’t follow them right away. Instead, she walked over to Gu Jiaojiao to thank her.
"Jiaojiao, thank you so much for today. If it weren’t for you, our family would have become a laughingstock."
With someone like that in the family, her children would be pointed at and gossiped about whenever they went out.
Then, thinking of Xu Wenwan’s intentions, Chen Xiaoli added a quiet reminder.

Xu Wenwan stood helplessly in the courtyard, not saying a word.
Chen Xiumin started to say something more, but Village Chief Xu stopped her by grabbing her arm.
Chen Xiumin looked from her husband to Xu Wenwan and said nothing, but her eyes began to glisten with tears.
At last, Village Chief Xu spoke. "Xu Wenwan, you were switched at birth. We didn’t raise you through your childhood, so if we were to speak of the debt a child owes a parent, there is none."
"From this day forward, you are no longer a daughter of the Xu Family. Pretend you never had us for parents. No matter what happens in the future, do not come back."
With that, Village Chief Xu helped Chen Xiumin away.
They walked past Yun Hao without a single glance.
