Chapter 773 - 769: Fool
When Mrs. Sun heard Gu Jiaojiao say she could have as much as she wanted, she instantly wondered, ’Is this Gu Zhiqing an idiot? Is she here just to give me money?’
Still, she felt something was off about Gu Jiaojiao. She seemed a little too calm.
But then she remembered how rich Gu Jiaojiao was. ’A rich girl like her probably doesn’t care about this paltry sum!’
With that thought, Mrs. Sun’s courage grew.
Ignoring her stinging cheek and the pain in her stomach, she held up a number of fingers.
"Fifty."
"You beat me up like this. You owe me at least fifty—no, one hundred! At least one hundred..."
Mrs. Sun’s eyes darted around. Deciding fifty was too little, she immediately changed it to one hundred.
Gu Jiaojiao was unperturbed.
"One hundred, is it? No problem."
"But I’ll need to borrow something from your house."
With that, Gu Jiaojiao walked straight into the Sun family’s kitchen and came out holding their kitchen cleaver.
The onlookers couldn’t help but take a step back. The last time Gu Jiaojiao brandished a cleaver, she had nearly chopped up Chen Yan. Now that she had it out again, they had a bad feeling.
Fang Ziyin, who had been standing to the side completely stunned, was about to step forward and stop her when she saw the cleaver. But after a moment’s thought, she didn’t move. Instead, she retreated a step along with everyone else.
From the conversation, she’d understood that the woman who got hit had been trying to cause trouble for Gu Jiaojiao. While she couldn’t say it was right to hit her, she wasn’t going to interfere unless the woman’s life was truly in danger.
Seeing Gu Jiaojiao brandishing the cleaver, Mrs. Sun swallowed nervously.
Gu Jiaojiao, however, remained expressionless. She simply held the cleaver and began to negotiate with Mrs. Sun.
"Auntie Sun, life hasn’t been easy for you. You’ve suffered. I’m a reasonable person. You just asked me for a hundred yuan, but I think a hundred is too little."
Mrs. Sun was speechless.
"So, I’ve decided to add more. Let’s say, for example, I were to injure your arm. How much should I compensate you for that?"
Mrs. Sun didn’t know what Gu Jiaojiao was playing at. She only knew that the way Gu Jiaojiao was staring at her gave her the creeps. But in the face of money, Mrs. Sun was quite brave.
She pondered for a long moment, then held up fingers to indicate the number twenty.
Gu Jiaojiao glanced at her. "Two hundred. Sounds good."
Mrs. Sun was speechless.
Hearing this, Sun Yeshu even forgot to cry.
The onlookers were speechless.
Gu Jiaojiao ignored everyone’s expressions and laughed heartily. "Then we have a deal on the price."
Mrs. Sun nodded.
Gu Jiaojiao immediately pulled a thick stack of ten-yuan bills from her pocket, stunning the crowd. She counted out twenty bills, one by one, and waved them in front of Mrs. Sun.
Mrs. Sun instinctively reached for the money, but Gu Jiaojiao pulled it back.
"Don’t be impatient, Auntie Sun. As soon as I chop off your arm, this money is all yours."
With that, she grabbed Mrs. Sun’s arm and gestured with the incredibly sharp cleaver. "I’ll start chopping right here."
Mrs. Sun was speechless.
She nearly died of fright. Seeing that Gu Jiaojiao was actually going to do it, she yanked her arm free, rolled across the ground, scrambled to her feet, and dashed into her courtyard.
At that moment, Mrs. Sun even abandoned her own daughter.
Gu Jiaojiao calmly advanced, cleaver in hand. "Auntie Sun, why are you hiding? Didn’t you want compensation? We already agreed on the price. Don’t hide!"
There was no sound from the house.
Gu Jiaojiao thought for a moment and called out again, "Are you afraid it will hurt? Don’t worry, I’ll be quick. I’ll try to get it off in just a few chops. Human bones are pretty tough, though, so I’ll have to hack a few extra times to get through the bone."
Everyone who heard Gu Jiaojiao’s words felt a chill run down their spine.
They had always known not to mess with Gu Jiaojiao, but only now did they realize just how much you shouldn’t mess with her.
