Chapter 566 - 562: Snatching Dishes
Chen JianShe and Lu Yuanbin completely ignored Zhu Wanqi’s reaction, their hands moving even faster.
Zhu Wanqi was stunned.
"How many days has it been since you two have eaten?"
’Her dad was always nagging her about her lack of table manners. She really wished he could see this—a perfect example of what people with no manners looked like.’
Chen JianShe and Lu Yuanbin remained silent, even shooting Zhu Wanqi a guarded look.
Zhu Wanqi was so exasperated she almost laughed. ’What’s with that look, as if they’re afraid I’m going to snatch the food away?’
’She was Zhu Wanqi; she would never do something like that.’
’These two were just so petty.’
However, watching their hands fly, she was starting to get antsy herself.
Gu Jiaojiao smiled and urged Zhu Wanqi to eat.
The meal had actually already begun, but Zhu Wanqi hadn’t started eating right after the first bite was taken.
Proper guest etiquette dictated that one should wait for the host to insist a few times before picking up one’s chopsticks.
At Gu Jiaojiao’s next urging, Zhu Wanqi picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork and popped it into her mouth.
Instantly, a sweet and sour flavor exploded across her taste buds. With a single bite, she found it was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and absolutely delicious.
Zhu Wanqi’s inner foodie was thoroughly awakened. Noticing two other dishes were already half-gone, she quickly snagged another piece.
This time, it was the smoked fish. Savory, fragrant, and simply divine.

’No way. I have to make up for all those years I wasted.’

And so, she too joined the battle for the food.
Zhang Tianming was speechless. His own wife couldn’t help but let her true nature show whenever she saw delicious food—and the tastier the meal, the more she let loose. He felt a little helpless.

It was supposed to be a dinner party where everyone chatted and laughed as they ate. But for a while, the only sounds at the table were the clatter of bowls and chopsticks. There wasn’t a whisper of conversation.
Gu Jiaojiao was stunned by everyone’s speed, but that shock soon turned to gratification. Having people fight over her cooking like this was surely the highest praise a chef could receive.
Leng Yuan didn’t appear to be rushing, but his movements were anything but slow. Even as he ate, he continuously placed food on Gu Jiaojiao’s plate.
Gu Jiaojiao had a small appetite, so she was full after just a few bites.
She’d been eating rich meals every day, so she hadn’t been very hungry to begin with.
It was much the same for Leng Yuan. He ate these kinds of dishes regularly, but every time he had a meal made by his wife, he found it exceptionally delicious.
As for the others, Zhang Tianming was a reserved man, but eating food this good was truly addictive. Seeing that Chen JianShe and Lu Yuanbin were about to polish off several dishes, he started to fight for his share too.
Zhu Wanqi was even more direct, spinning the Lazy Susan and telling Lu Yuanbin to take less and leave some for her.

Sweet Girl and Xiao Yang were long accustomed to fighting for food at the dinner table and were seasoned veterans. In the end, they both ate until their bellies were round and full.
Chen JianShe and Lu Yuanbin had the biggest appetites and ate the most, battling it out until the very end.
By the time everyone was finished, the serving plates on the table were picked almost completely clean.
Zhu Wanqi clutched her stomach, letting out a satisfied sigh.
