Chapter 543 - 325: The Firmament Falls (Part 2)
This was arguably Jishan’s most-used killing blow. It contained the Power of Rules he had integrated, allowing him to devour the Immortality of any creature he touched.
Just like the members of the Cyan Emperor Sect he had encountered before, all it took was a single touch, and even those with Immortality would die.
Facing Jishan’s ferocious assault, Yang An knew they were both trapped. There was no escape, but he was already prepared.
An intense golden light burst from his body as he suddenly transformed into a giant dragon over a hundred feet long, its head crowned with a Golden Radiance.
Abyss Dragon Devouring Light!
With a swing of its massive claws, it instantly snatched all the incoming beast heads. Golden light erupted from the dragon’s claws, distorting all the surrounding light.
The light instantly spread along the tentacles behind the beast heads, dissolving and breaking them down, but the process was not fast.
’So this is the Insect Dao.’
Even against Yang An’s previously invincible Light Magic, it could still hold on for a surprisingly long time.
Even an instant was enough for Jishan to react.
"A Light Forbidden Technique?!"
A look of astonishment crossed his face, but his hands didn’t stop. He manipulated several other beast heads with his fingers, and they instantly pierced the Lamp Dragon’s body.
But a moment later, Jishan frowned.
’It isn’t solid!’
The beast heads piercing the Lamp Dragon’s body hadn’t struck any flesh or blood. The giant dragon was actually made of light.
RRRIP!
Yang An forcefully crushed the beast heads in his grasp and ripped away the connecting tentacles. The huge, ferocious dragon head opened its maw and abruptly spat out a dazzling pillar of light.
The pillar of light seemed to split heaven and earth. With a single upward slash, it severed all the other tentacles that had penetrated the dragon’s body.
The pillar of light also carved a long chasm in the earth. It only dissipated when it struck the distant blood fog that sealed off the world, causing clouds of Red Fog to evaporate and rise.
The tentacles retracted and quickly reformed into beast heads. Jishan was completely unharmed.
Although neither side had gained a clear advantage in this initial exchange, Yang An was already on the back foot.
’If I hadn’t fused with the Light-type Forbidden Artifact Fragment, using the Power of Rules to activate Abyss Dragon Devouring Light and achieve Light Transformation, Jishan would have devoured and annihilated me with that last attack.’
Meanwhile, Jishan was secretly astounded.
’This guy hasn’t just mastered a Light Forbidden Technique; he actually survived my killing blow unscathed. For a Zombie God, that’s unbelievable. He really has a few tricks up his sleeve.’
The massive dragon’s body weaved through the sealed space. Yang An had the Lamp Dragon seize the initiative, charging toward Jishan. It abruptly vanished, only to reappear behind him.
From their first clash, Yang An already understood one thing.
’My opponent practices the Insect Dao and his Cultivation Level is higher than mine. I can’t let him seize the initiative. If I get caught in his rhythm, the situation will spiral out of my control.’
The sharp dragon claws slashed down. The attack was incredibly sudden, as Yang An hadn’t used his Light and Shadow Escape Technique before. He had been saving this move to catch Jishan completely off guard.
But this was a master of the Insect Dao, after all. A web woven from countless strands of light enveloped Jishan, instantly dicing the space he occupied into myriad pieces. It erupted with a brilliant, dazzling light, annihilating everything within.
Even ten Zombie Gods caught within this attack would have been dissolved in an instant, reduced to ash.
But in that instant, Jishan’s flesh pulsed, and in the blink of an eye, he swapped places with one of the beast heads, reappearing a thousand meters away.
The beast head was disintegrated by the countless rays of light, but just like before, it quickly regenerated. Jishan, in contrast, was completely unscathed.
Yang An was not discouraged. With his attack having missed, he vanished once more, reappearing above Jishan’s head. A torrent of light spewed from the dragon’s mouth, blasting down with tremendous force.
Their reactions were nearly instantaneous, one following the other without a moment’s delay.
"Blood Sac!"
Jishan clasped his hands. In that instant, all the beast heads merged, their tentacles twisting together to form a giant ball of flesh. Like a massive meteor hammer, it positioned itself in front of him to block Yang An’s attack head-on.
The light descended upon the ball of flesh and was completely blocked.
But in the blink of an eye, the ball of flesh was rapidly disintegrated. The light pierced through it and struck the ground, blasting a bottomless pit. Jishan, however, had easily dodged the attack.
A huge hole was blasted through the ball of flesh. Its blood dried and evaporated under the light, but then, under Jishan’s control, the mass retracted back into his body.
As long as the Caster is not killed, their flesh can recover endlessly—unless their Immortality is completely ground away.
The giant dragon before him had no physical form, making it impossible to touch Yang An’s real body. A veteran of countless battles, Jishan immediately switched his strategy.
"Giant Rotting Forest!"
His figure turned into a black shadow and dropped to the ground. Then, like a clay ox sinking into the sea, he vanished without a trace.
But in the next second, throughout the several-thousand-meter area shrouded in blood fog, countless masses of flesh began to grow wildly upon the vegetation. One after another, huge and hideous monsters took shape, turning the entire area into a jungle of horrors in the blink of an eye.
Each monster grown from flesh stood at least dozens of feet tall. Countless vines twisted and writhed, and sharp-edged leaves shot through the air, slicing through everything they touched.
The vines instantly coiled around the Lamp Dragon’s body. They came from all directions at once, like giant chains of flesh and blood, attempting to bind it.
