Chapter 454 - 292: I Haven’t Read Many Books, Workshop Master; You’re Not Tricking Me, Are You?
The person who arrived was the Workshop Master, Zhu Han.
He smiled lightly from beneath his mask. With a casual gesture, he took the Unidentified Arrow, which had lost its color and grown dim, into his hand.
"I saved your life. Let’s consider this Sealed Object as payment for saving you. Besides, this thing is useless to you now."
He tossed the Unidentified Arrow back to Yang An.
Yang An got to his feet, put away the Unidentified Arrow, and smiled as well.
’So that’s why the guy waited until the last possible second to make his move. What else would you expect from a merchant?’
Looking at the silver bead in the Workshop Master’s hand, Yang An glanced around as a thought occurred to him.
"What about the Forbidden Artifact?"
He remembered that the Seal within the Unidentified Arrow was supposed to strip out the Forbidden Artifact from the person being sealed.
"What are you thinking? The fusion of the Insect Dao and a Forbidden Artifact is absolute. You could say the body itself becomes the Rules. Once they merge, they’re inseparable unless the user dies, their Dao is extinguished, and the Rules shatter back into fragments."
"Then didn’t I take a huge loss?"
Yang An muttered.
’If the Workshop Master took the Sealed Object, isn’t that the same as him taking a complete Forbidden Artifact?’
The Rules of that damn monk’s Forbidden Artifact were utterly bizarre. Yang An had never encountered a Power of Rules so difficult to deal with.
Not only could he not kill his opponent, but he couldn’t even escape. He had truly never felt so powerless.
Yang An was also very tempted by such a powerful Forbidden Artifact.
The Workshop Master laughed out loud, then tossed something else to Yang An.
It was a crescent-shaped Seal, fashioned into a necklace from a material resembling white jade. It had a shallow groove on its surface, along with some mysterious, ancient patterns.
"I rushed to finish the item you asked for. I was originally going to trade this Magical Artifact with you, but how about we consider it compensation for me taking the Sealed Object as payment?"
Yang An took it, and an information box immediately appeared before his eyes.
「[Moon Talisman]: Crafted by Zhu Han, Workshop Master of the Jade Refining Workshop. Made from Yin Moon Stone, it can forcibly shrink and store a bound object.
Cost of Use: On the night of every full moon, this item will corrode the user’s mind and absorb their Essence Blood.
Status: Can be Purified!」
"This is a container for the Bow Lady?"
Yang An asked instinctively after reading the information.
"Bow Lady?"
The Workshop Master smiled faintly upon hearing the name.
"It seems you two are getting along quite well."
"Why do I still feel like I’m getting ripped off? I’m not the most educated person, Workshop Master. You wouldn’t be trying to fool me, would you?"
Yang An clutched the Moon Talisman in his hand. In his mind, the Workshop Master’s image had completely solidified into that of a crooked merchant.
"You kid... Fine. I was planning to use this Sealed Object to craft a Magical Artifact that can extract and borrow its Power of Rules. When it’s done, how about I give you one?"
"Like the Unidentified Arrow?"
The method the Workshop Master described sounded familiar to Yang An.
"Of course, it won’t compare to the Unidentified Arrow. That came from the Celestial Sect. How could my power alone rival the entire Celestial Sect? But I promise it won’t disappoint you."
"Fine. But can the Workshop Master agree to one small condition?"
Compared to a complete and powerful Forbidden Artifact, Yang An still felt he was getting the worse end of the deal. He didn’t want to lose out; he needed a guarantee.
"What condition?"
The Workshop Master felt rather helpless when dealing with Yang An, but it was true that he had profited greatly from the exchange.
"Next time something like this happens, give me a heads-up and intervene sooner."
He had just experienced a true death. If it hadn’t been for Elder Zhuan Yu’s Power of Rules dying in his stead, he feared he would have had no hope of a comeback.
"Are you telling me you *want* to run into a situation like this again?"
The Workshop Master chuckled.
"Of course not. But you just stood by and watched the show, which left me feeling helpless. That’s why I’m making bold to ask for your promise. Otherwise, if something like this happens again, I’ll have no idea how long you’ll wait to act, and that’s extremely dangerous for me."
Since the two had already agreed to become partners, Yang An’s attitude was no longer as reserved. He decided to be bold and speak his mind freely.
"Fine. As you wish."
The Workshop Master nodded, and only then did Yang An let the matter drop.
He then instructed Yang An to head to the Fusheng Domain soon to gather the members of the Scripture Defector Association, before taking his leave.
His intervention this time had also been accomplished via a teleportation container. He came and went in a flash.
After the Workshop Master left, Yang An didn’t linger either. He sped toward Broken Armor, communicating with the Bow Lady in his mind.
"Oh, Bow Lady, Bow Lady. I was just killed right in front of you, and you couldn’t even show a shred of sadness? You’re breaking my heart, you know."
"You little bastard! Stop playing dumb with me. You think I don’t know your tricks?
With all those tricks up your sleeve, running circles around that damn monk... if you had *actually* died, *that* would have been strange."
The Bow Lady had seen through his act long ago. She was utterly disdainful of his behavior and even wanted to laugh.
"I knew I couldn’t fool you."
Yang An laughed heartily and brought up the matter of the Moon Talisman.
"Shall we try it?"
"Let’s try it!"
After using Purification on the Moon Talisman’s cost, Yang An instantly stored the Bow Lady inside it.
The body of the bow shrank countless times, fitting perfectly into the groove on the Moon Talisman. He then wore it as a necklace, letting it rest against his chest.
He only needed to brush his hand lightly over the Moon Talisman for the Bow Lady to return to her true form. Moreover, being stored inside the talisman didn’t affect their ability to communicate in the slightest.
’Now this is more like it.’
Yang An nodded in satisfaction. If he were a Swordsman with such an incomparably sharp blade, how could he possibly go without a scabbard?
He completed the rest of his journey smoothly, encountering no further obstacles, and entered Broken Armor once more.
