Chapter 550 - 327: Mind’s Eye (Part 2)
Yang An returned her smile, understanding what was on her mind.
"Don’t worry. I’m fine, and I have everything under control. If anything happens, I’ll let you know immediately. What you need to do now is raise your Cultivation Level as quickly as possible and protect yourself. That would be the biggest help you could give me."
Hearing Yang An’s response, Wen Yin breathed a sigh of relief and nodded firmly.
Wen Yin waited until Yang An had entered the Quiet Chamber. Only after the heavy stone door slowly swung shut, sealing his aura inside with him, did she leave.
’I have to continue my cultivation. I’ll do exactly as Senior Brother says.’
Inside the Quiet Chamber, Yang An wasted no time. He quickly entered the Tree of Flesh and Blood within his consciousness and contacted the Workshop Master.
The Workshop Master responded quickly.
"You found the soul you needed so quickly? How many?"
"The soul of one Insect Dao Realm cultivator. I imagine that should be enough."
Yang An answered honestly.
’How many Insect Dao cultivators are there in this world, anyway? If even an Insect Dao soul isn’t enough, then I’ll be completely helpless when it comes to the Immortal Platform realm above it.’
"That’s not nearly enough. The soul of one Zombie God won’t do much... Wait! Insect Dao?! Did you fucking kill an Insect Dao cultivator?!"
The Workshop Master had subconsciously assumed Yang An was talking about the soul of a Zombie God. But when he suddenly realized Yang An had said *Insect Dao*, the tone of his transmitted message instantly lost all composure.
He had never lost his composure like this in front of Yang An before. In Yang An’s eyes, the Workshop Master’s image as a lofty, imperturbable expert instantly plummeted.
"Yes, Insect Dao. The man was the Third Elder of the Golden Soul Sect. He should have been a Middle Stage Insect Dao cultivator."
Yang An confirmed again.
"The Third Elder of the Golden Soul Sect? Jishan?!"
The Workshop Master’s message came back instantly, his tone filled with disbelief. Then, he fell silent.
He was at a loss for words.
From his perspective, Yang An’s current strength was enough to handle Zombie Gods without issue. He had expected the collected souls to be of that level; he wasn’t hoping for quality, just quantity.
With enough Zombie God souls, repairing the Bow Lady would still have been possible.
But he had never imagined that Yang An would actually slay an Insect Dao cultivator from the Golden Soul Sect.
"You... how did you manage it?"
The Workshop Master asked hesitantly, his curiosity getting the better of him.
Most importantly, Yang An’s Cultivation Level was at the Zombie God realm, yet he had killed someone in the Insect Dao Realm. The gap between them spanned an entire Great Realm.
Killing someone a Great Realm higher would be understandable for cultivators below the Visceral Stone realm, since they lack the support of Immortality.
But the higher one’s Cultivation Level, the harder it is to kill someone of a higher level, to the point of being nearly impossible. Even for beings like them, the Innate Flesh Mushrooms, killing an enemy just one Small Realm higher was incredibly difficult. A Zombie God killing an Insect Dao cultivator was beyond the scope of simply "punching up a level"—it was the stuff of fantasy.
The Workshop Master had lived for many years and had never encountered such a situation. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have lost his composure so completely.
"Someone helped me."
Yang An replied concisely, deciding to keep some things hidden from the Workshop Master. He didn’t reveal the true circumstances.
He also couldn’t speak of the Death Lord’s identity. Although the Workshop Master might know of the Death Lord’s existence, the part about Huan was a secret best kept by as few people as possible.
Hearing Yang An’s reply, the Workshop Master finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He, too, didn’t believe that Yang An had the strength to kill an Insect Dao cultivator on his own, let alone one at the Middle Stage of the Insect Dao.
If someone had helped him, then it made sense.
What he hadn’t expected was that Yang An actually knew another top-tier expert.
’To help him kill an Insect Dao cultivator, they’d have to be at least at the Early Stage of the Insect Dao themselves. This kid really knows how to hide his connections, but I can understand why.’
"How is the Bow Lady’s condition?"
Yang An asked about the matter that concerned him most. He couldn’t bear for anything to happen to the Bow Lady.
"Her condition isn’t good, but you’ve brought this soul just in time. We can begin her restoration now. The soul of an Insect Dao cultivator should be more than enough."
At the Workshop Master’s reply, Yang An felt a weight lift from his chest. He immediately prepared to send the Soul-Stabilizing Box over.
"You need to come as well. I need an assistant. She has become lost in her own consciousness. I’ll be responsible for using the soul to restore her, but I need you to awaken her."
The Workshop Master had clearly already decided on a plan, as his next message came immediately.
"Good!"
Yang An agreed at once, without hesitation.
He entered the Tree of Flesh and Blood. Under the Workshop Master’s control, a vessel transport was activated. Carrying the Soul-Stabilizing Box, Yang An’s vessel-body quickly arrived in the center of a vast lake.
The lake stretched out of sight, its far shores shrouded in thick fog. The water’s surface was perfectly calm.
Yang An’s form landed on the placid water, sending a faint ripple across the surface. He could already see the Workshop Master.
The Workshop Master stood silently in the center of the lake. Before him, a total of thirty-six Magical Artifacts of various shapes and sizes formed a circle, hovering above the water.
All sorts of illusory projections manifested from the Magical Artifacts, piercing the surface of the lake to connect with something below. They emitted a tremor that made one’s heart pound.
Having arrived via the vessel transport and confirming the Workshop Master’s aura was authentic, Yang An finally approached, holding the Soul-Stabilizing Box.
The Workshop Master had his hands behind his back and did not turn his head.
Yang An walked to his side. The Workshop Master’s head was slightly bowed, his gaze peering through his mask into the lake.
"She is just beneath the surface. I am using these thirty-six Magical Artifacts to temporarily stabilize her condition. Next, I will use this soul to restore her, but you will need to awaken her from her lost consciousness. This could be very risky."
