There seemed to be a weariness in the Bow Lady’s voice as well.

Yang An understood her, so he didn’t press further. Instead, he began to ponder everything he had encountered in Lower Hu.

It seemed he had stumbled upon the secrets of the Xian Origin Land through Lower Hu. However, the woman he met afterward and the voice he heard just before he left plunged him into deep thought.

After losing consciousness and entering a deeper layer of the Xian Origin Land, that woman was the only normal person he had seen.

Yet for someone so normal, the words she spoke were anything but.

And then there was that final voice.

’World Body? What is a World Body?’

’One World Body is dead, and there’s another unrecorded one... Was it talking about me?’

Fu Ming had disappeared. Yang An had no way to verify his suspicions, nor did he know if Fu Ming held any other information.

’This is so frustrating!’

An inexplicable agitation welled up inside Yang An. The last thing he wanted was this feeling—staring at a tangled mess of threads, with no end in sight.

Fortunately, the flow of time in the Xian Origin Land differed from the real world. Before the Golden Soul Sect finished setting up their Array, his time here was effectively extended, meaning he had more of it to use.

Staring at the campfire before him, Yang An forced himself to calm down.

’If I enter Lower Hu again, what do I need to do?’

WHOOSH—

A red line streaked in from the distant horizon. By the time the sound of it tearing through the air reached him, it had already landed on the ground and transformed into a red lotus, which abruptly blossomed.

Countless fine threads flashed from within the red lotus, slicing through everything in a radius of several hundred meters.

However, when these fine threads touched Yang An’s body, they snapped apart, completely unable to harm him in the slightest.

’Someone’s here!’

Yang An’s eyes immediately lit up, and he turned to look.

Three figures approached from the distance, all of them strangers to him.

Without exception, anyone who could appear here had to be a practitioner of the *Mystic Path Decoded*. This meant they might all be qualified to enter the deeper world and possibly knew something.

’Perfect timing!’

A smile spread across Yang An’s face. He’d been racking his brain trying to find the end of that tangled thread. Now that Fu Ming was gone, perhaps he could start with these people and try to resolve some of his questions.

One of the newcomers had a massive red lotus hovering over his head; he was clearly the one who had just attacked.

The other two were just as bizarre in their own ways; in short, none of them looked normal.

As the three appeared and drew near, they surrounded Yang An from three directions.

Yang An rose to his feet. Not a word was exchanged, but the tension was thick enough to cut with a knife.

A gigantic, bewitching red lotus suddenly erupted from the ground beneath him, like a gaping maw trying to swallow Yang An whole.

At the same time, more than a dozen monsters materialized out of thin air, spitting long, crimson tongues at Yang An, attempting to wrap around him and hold him fast.

And from directly above Yang An, a colossal figure plummeted down.

These attacks were all launched in the same instant, trapping Yang An and leaving him no room to escape.

However, Yang An had no intention of escaping.

Just as the red lotus surged like a great whale breaching the ocean’s surface, just as the long tongues were about to make contact, and just as the giant overhead let out a thunderous roar, a light began to radiate from Yang An’s body.

The next moment, a brilliant light engulfed everything. It expanded so quickly that before the attacks could even reach Yang An, they, along with the three assailants, were completely submerged in it.

Here, Yang An could act without restraint. Moreover, these people might possess the Power of Rules, so he needed to end this fight quickly. While they were still just probing, he would strike to kill.

In just a few breaths, the light faded. The campfire continued to burn steadily, but Yang An was now holding the mangled body of one of his attackers.

He had already killed the other two. The black light of the Dark Communication Secret Spell now enveloped the lone survivor, paralyzing him. It was the man with the red lotus.

The man’s body was in tatters, with only his head and part of his chest remaining. The red lotus above him had withered to a mere bud, and his aura was faint.

He may have been mindless when he arrived, his eyes clouded and unfocused, but the agony he was now experiencing was shocking him back to clarity.

Yang An casually tossed him onto the ground, letting him bleed profusely. The Dark Communication Secret Spell still had him bound; he wouldn’t die, anyway.

ZING ZING ZING—

Several more beams of Golden Radiance pierced the man’s ruined body. One even lanced through his skull, provoking a piercing shriek.

"I’m sure you saw what happened to your two companions. If you don’t want to follow in their footsteps, how about we make a deal?"

Yang An wasn’t interested in their Spirit Cores; he had more pressing matters at hand.

Under the stimulation of the Great Brightness Buddha Golden Zen Spell, the sole survivor became increasingly lucid and was now able to speak.

When lucid and faced with death, most people choose survival. The man before him was no exception.

"If you have the guts, then kill me!"

Hearing the man’s response, Yang An raised an eyebrow. ’Looks like he’s a madman.’

’If he’s a madman, then this will be easy.’
