"Tell me... should I kill you?"

He forcefully gripped One-Eyed’s neck, enveloped him with the Dark Communication Secret Spell, and even pierced him with Golden Radiance until he resembled a porcupine.

In addition to all this, Yang An also held another Forbidden Artifact Fragment in his hand.

Unlike the Life Rejuvenation Spell he had just used, this Forbidden Artifact Fragment was far more incomplete, resembling the edge of some blade.

This was Night Fang!

This Forbidden Artifact Fragment possessed a portion of the Power of Rules that could forcibly compress living things.

The One-Eyed before him was technically a living creature. As a precaution against him escaping, Yang An had also deployed the Power of Rules from this fragment.

This time, he would not give One-Eyed another chance to escape.

His current location happened to be a relatively safe gap, one of the few places devoid of the Power of Rules.

One-Eyed trembled in Yang An’s grasp like a leaf in the wind, shaking uncontrollably. Aside from the pain of the Golden Radiance piercing his body and eye, he could also feel his remnant soul being constantly compressed. This was clearly another application of the Power of Rules.

’This guy actually has two un-fused Forbidden Artifact Fragments!’

’How can he resist fusing the Forbidden Artifact Fragments?’

’It was like a lecher being presented with two peerlessly beautiful, defenseless women. How could the guy possibly hold back?’

’He didn’t understand!’

’You already have Forbidden Artifact Fragments—and ones with such a potent Power of Rules, no less—so why come to the Forbidden Land looking for new Forbidden Artifacts?’

’So fucking greedy!’

But of course, he didn’t dare say any of this to Yang An’s face. He could only think it.

"Please, don’t kill me! I’ll tell you anything you want to know. As long as I know it, I swear I won’t hide anything."

He stammered, all his previous bravado gone. Now he was like a mouse caught in a vice grip, willing to do anything to survive.

A cold sneer appeared on Yang An’s face. If it weren’t for the fact that he truly needed more information about the Forbidden Land right now, he wouldn’t even bother wasting his breath on such a fickle creature. He would have just snuffed him out.

"And you think I’d believe you?"

He asked with a smile, making no effort to conceal his killing intent. If he so wished, the creature’s life would end in the very next moment.

"You can! You can absolutely trust me! My life is in your hands. I can go with you into the Forbidden Land Core!"

One-Eyed nodded desperately. Although this made the Golden Radiance embedded in his body burn his remnant soul even more intensely, it was nothing compared to the threat against his life.

However, this was not the answer Yang An wanted.

If this creature deliberately lied to trick him, the worst-case scenario would be them dying together, but that wasn’t a worthy trade for him.

If this guy wanted to take him down with him, he had no intention of playing along.

So, he remained silent, deciding to collect some interest from the creature first.

A ruthless glint flashed in Yang An’s eyes. A dark red flame suddenly erupted in his hand, instantly setting One-Eyed’s body ablaze.

One-Eyed immediately began to struggle painfully in Yang An’s grip, his entire body seared by the flames as he let out an agonized scream.

"Please... I would never dare deceive you! Spare me! I’ll take you to the Core Land! I know a lot about the Core Land..."

Screaming, One-Eyed began to beg Yang An relentlessly.

He had no physical body to begin with, only a remnant soul. The pain he felt was therefore far more intense than any physical agony and was becoming unbearable.

Yet, Yang An clearly had no intention of killing him. He was merely torturing him.

Never, in life or in death, had he endured such torment. It was simply unbearable.

Yang An still said nothing. He wanted an answer that would truly satisfy him, and clearly, begging was not the way to move him.

After a few breaths, the flames grew even more intense. One-Eyed’s body began to melt like wax, and his agony deepened.

Yang An still had no intention of letting him go. But if he died at Yang An’s hands and this remnant soul vanished, he would lose all hope of ever reviving.

"My eye! Take my eye! That’s where my final remnant soul is located! If anything happens, my remnant soul can die in your place! Believe me! Please, spare me!"

The creature could no longer bear it and finally told the truth.

A smile finally appeared on Yang An’s face. He called out to the Bow Lady in his mind, seeking confirmation.

The Bow Lady responded quickly. There was indeed a trace of a soul’s aura within the eye. Unlike One-Eyed’s current form, that was his true "main body," proving that he hadn’t been lying.

The flames finally went out. One-Eyed’s twisted figure had melted like running water, dripping onto the ground.

Yang An plunged one hand into his head and, with a sudden, forceful tug, ripped the single eye from his body.

Numerous black tendrils were still connected to the eye, and they all snapped. The creature let out another agonized scream, and its body even turned somewhat translucent, no longer as solid as before.

"You little brat! Give him to me! I’ll help you control him!"

The Bow Lady’s voice rang in Yang An’s ears. Dealing with this type of Soul Body was second nature to her. This would provide a better guarantee, and it would also allow Yang An to focus wholeheartedly on his search for the Forbidden Artifact.
