The two Zombie Gods in the lead immediately questioned Yang An. They kept a safe distance, their attitudes were reasonable enough, and they showed no hostility.

Yang An decided to play along, spinning a tale that he had the same intention. He claimed he was just scouting out the area first. If it proved viable, his sect’s disciples would have a place to gain practical combat experience in the future.

Upon hearing Yang An’s answer, the two Zombie Gods laughed. Plenty of people had the same idea as Yang An. Many nearby Sects used this place as a training ground, and the two of them were no different, having brought disciples from their Sect under orders.

Earth Demon Cliff was a vast territory teeming with Demon Fiends, covering nearly every level below the Insect Dao. This made it an ideal training ground.

Although rumors claimed a Great Demon of the Insect Dao resided within Earth Demon Cliff, it had never actually been seen. As long as one didn’t venture deep into the cliff’s core, the danger was generally manageable.

The Demon Fiends within seemed to have resigned themselves to their fate. Even when nearby Sects repeatedly brought their Cultivators to stir up trouble, it never triggered a large-scale Demon Fiend uprising.

Even when killed by the invading Cultivators, they wouldn’t grow enraged. On the contrary, it was as if they were actively accommodating the Cultivators, just trying to send them on their way and be done with it.

"Friend, if you’re just here to scout things out, you’re welcome to join us. We can watch each other’s backs."

One of the Zombie Gods said with a smile, intending to pull Yang An into their party. However, Yang An declined.

’I came here for the Great Demon of the Insect Dao, not to team up with these guys to hunt Demon Fiends. I just want to find out what makes the so-called strangeness of Earth Demon Cliff so strange.’

"There’s no need for us to travel together. However, if you two know something about this place, might you be willing to share a detail or two? I would be most grateful."

After being rejected, Yang An immediately followed up by asking about Earth Demon Cliff. The two Zombie Gods exchanged a look, their attitudes suddenly turning cold.

"Friend, you put us in a difficult position. These matters are secrets of our Sect and are not for us to share. I think it’s best we part ways here."

Yang An had refused them, so they refused him right back. After all, they were all Zombie Gods; none of them were pushovers.

They had only approached Yang An to determine if he was friend or foe. Since he posed no threat and had rejected their deliberate attempt to recruit him, they naturally had no reason to bother with him any further.

With that said, and without waiting for Yang An to reply, the two of them led the other Cultivators away, quickly leaving him behind.

Yang An gave a helpless smile. ’They don’t seem like malicious people. If they don’t want to talk, so be it. I’ll just go in and investigate on my own.’

The next moment, Yang An took to the air and flew toward Earth Demon Cliff. He soon passed over the heads of the group from before, disappearing into the distance without a single look back.

Watching Yang An’s figure head toward Earth Demon Cliff, the two Zombie Gods leading the disciples let out a dry chuckle.

’Good thing that fellow refused to join us. For those who know the area, Earth Demon Cliff is an excellent training ground with manageable risks.’

’But a reckless fool like him could fail spectacularly over something simple if he isn’t careful.’

’All alone... if those Demon Fiends figure him out, they won’t hold back. They’ll kill him without a second thought.’

"Let’s go. We’ll follow him and see how long it takes for him to fall on his face. This should be a rare bit of entertainment."
