Chapter 220: A Private Tour
Releasing an exasperated sigh, she turned around to glare at him. "I am only going to check if they are okay since it has been almost half an hour. The guests are gossiping."
"Well, half an hour is nothing when it comes to passionate lovers. Especially two who are getting married tomorrow," Cillian replied, raising a brow at the heavy implications behind his words.
Jade’s cheeks flushed at the thought before she pursed her lips. "I was not planning to just march in, you know. I was only going to check from outside, maybe."
Cillian scoffed. "It is still a mistake to even do that. Trust me, I know Gavriel, and he would not appreciate any interruptions."
"Like I said, I have no intention of interrupting," Jade mumbled under her breath before releasing another sigh. "Look, I’m just worried, okay? Aliana did not look right earlier. Not to mention she has been unusually quiet ever since I saw her this evening. Like... like something has been eating away at her."
Cillian’s sharp eyes held hers for a second before he quietly shrugged. "Still, don’t say I didn’t warn you."
Jade stared at him for a second longer before she turned around and closed the distance to Aliana’s room.
Standing directly in front of the bedroom door, just as she lifted her hand to knock, a needy moan tore from within the room. It was the exact moment Gavriel had pulled his hand away from Aliana’s mouth, making Jade’s eyes go as wide as saucers.
Her head whipped to the side, only to find Cillian’s brows drawing together in horror.
Jade’s face burned a bright crimson. Before she could say a single word, Cillian cursed under his breath, snapped his sharp gaze back to her, and hissed, "Gavriel is going to kill me for hearing that!"
"Wait, what?" Jade exclaimed in total disbelief.
Before she could even react, Cillian grabbed her wrist and pulled her away as fast as possible.
"Did you just say he is going to kill you for hearing that?" Jade could not believe that was his first reaction.
Instead of answering, he continued to drag her down the hallway, muttering, "I told you it was a bad idea."
"W-well, can you blame me?" she shot back, trying to keep up with his brisk pace. "Her parents are worried! Would you have preferred they were the ones hearing... that?"
Cillian winced at the thought before leading her to an open balcony on the top floor.
After letting go of her hand, he ran a hand through his hair before staring out at the vast stretch of greenery spread before them.
Neither of them spoke for a while until the silence gradually became unbearable.
Jade’s face was still flushed crimson as she internally regretted not listening to Cillian’s warning earlier.
Remembering everyone waiting downstairs, she finally cleared her throat. "So... what do we do now?"
Cillian finally turned his chocolate brown eyes to meet hers as she continued, "We cannot go down there without knowing what to tell them."
A slight crease formed between Cillian’s brows as he thought, before he looked back at her.
"Let’s tell them that Aliana was exhausted and turned in for the night, and that Gavriel is only spending a bit of time with her before leaving. Dinner is almost over anyway."
Jade considered it before giving him a firm nod. "Fine, that sounds safe."
"It is." Cillian had already taken out his phone. "I’ll drop Gavriel a message to let him know."
He slipped his phone back into his pocket before turning to leave, and Jade followed close behind.
Just as he reached the staircase, he stopped so abruptly that Jade nearly walked straight into his back.
She caught herself at the last possible second. "Hey!" she hissed in a low voice. "What is with stopping so abruptly?"
But the man did not say a word.
Driven by curiosity, she stepped up beside him and followed his gaze, which was fixed on the far end of the hallway leading to the other wing of the mansion.
Looking back at him, she asked, "What’s wrong?"
Cillian asked without shifting his gaze, "What’s down that way?"
Jade’s brows pulled together. "Um... just more guest rooms. Why?"
She studied him up close.
Sensing her eyes on him, he turned to offer her a smooth, disarming smile and asked flirtatiously, "I was only considering, since we are already lost up here, if you’d like to give me a private tour?"
Jade’s cheeks flushed furiously as her eyes widened. "You’re completely insane, aren’t you?"
"Well... yes," he admitted shamelessly. "Why? Don’t you like the idea? Oh, right... I forgot about the boyfriend." Cillian teased.
Jade shook her head. "Forget I even asked." She turned on her heel and began a brisk march down the corridor, as if she could not put distance between them fast enough.
Cillian let out a soft chuckle at her exit before his gaze darted back toward the dark hallway once more.
"Hm... I wonder if they’re into something like that," he murmured to himself before picking up his pace to catch up with the fiery redhead.
.....
Back in the bathroom, the only sound remaining was the heavy breathing of Aliana and Gavriel following their intense encounter.
Still pinning her against the wall for a few seconds longer, when Gavriel finally opened his eyes again, he slowly turned his head to look at her.
Sensing him move, Aliana’s eyes fluttered open, still heavy with the lingering haze of the pleasure and met his gaze.
Gavriel lifted a hand to cup her cheek and asked in a rich rasp, "Are you okay?"
She blinked as she realised the position they were still in, with him still deeply buried inside her, and colour immediately rose to her cheeks.
Without saying a word, she gave him a slow nod.
He stroked his thumb across her lower lip, murmuring, "Words, Ana."
Her heart skipped a beat as she lowered her gaze and whispered shyly, "Yes."
’How adorable,’ he thought as he continued gazing at her.
He noticed her volatile powers gradually receding before finally settling within her, which only confirmed that his powers had once again helped stabilise hers.
Releasing a soft, relieved sigh, he leaned down and planted a lingering kiss on her lips. "Let’s shower."
