The pain that shot through Gavriel’s mind was unlike anything he had ever experienced before... not even during the nights of the full moon.
Then what was it?
It felt as though something inside his mind was trying to tear itself free, threatening to split it apart.
His vision blurred for the briefest moment before he felt a gentle warmth curl around his hand.
Aliana’s fingers.
They had wrapped around the hand that was still holding the wedding band resting upon her finger.
Almost instantly, the pain melted away as though it had never existed.
His eyes snapped back to her large grey ones, catching the flicker of worry in them as she whispered, "Are you alright?"
He instinctively felt a pang of regret for letting such a lapse happen in the middle of their wedding, causing her to worry when she had already gone through so much.
Rather than answering with words, Gavriel slowly lifted her hand to his lips and pressed a tender kiss against the ring he had just placed on her finger.
Aliana’s heart fluttered wildly at the unexpected gesture.
When he lifted his gaze once more, he found a rosy blush spreading across her beautiful cheeks, earning a chorus of warm laughter from the guests gathered to witness their union.
"Yes, baby," he murmured, his deep voice carrying a rare tenderness that instantly made Aliana’s fingers tighten around his.
The priest cleared his throat, subtly prompting, "Miss, if you would."
"Ah," she squeaked softly.
Still blushing hard, she took Gavriel’s large, warm hand into hers and slipped the gold band onto his ring finger.
"With the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife," the priest announced. "You may kiss your bride."
That was when Gavriel finally let go of her hand and gently lifted her veil, allowing himself to see her without anything standing between them.
As soon as their eyes met, something magnetic pulled them together.
A small smile curved at the corner of his lips as he whispered, "Come to me, wife."
Then, in front of the gathered crowd, the bride took the initiative. Aliana reached up and gently cupped Gavriel’s face in her hands.
She leaned closer to his lips, but before she could close the distance, Gavriel snaked his strong arms around her waist. He pressed her body flush against his, taking control of the moment and sealing her lips with his own.
He lifted her slightly, leaving her stretching on her tiptoes as he devoured her mouth in a slow, deep kiss.
The guests were so shocked by the sudden display of passion that they forgot to clap, the grand hall falling into a stunned silence. It lasted only until Cillian let out an amused chuckle from behind them and began to applaud, snapping everyone out of their stupor.
Almost instantly, the grand hall erupted with laughter and thunderous applause as guests standing along the balconies showered the newlyweds with thousands of rose petals that had been prepared especially for this very moment.
The delicate petals drifted gracefully through the air, surrounding the couple in a cascade of crimson and ivory as they remained lost in one another.
Only when a soft petal brushed against Aliana’s cheek, followed by countless more, did Gavriel reluctantly pull away.
Resting his forehead against hers, he kept one arm securely around her waist while his other hand gently cupped her cheek, his thumb smoothing over her warm skin.
"You are mine now, my little rose," he whispered.
Her heart jolted at the sheer intensity in his blue eyes. His words settled something deep within her chest before she smiled brightly up at him. "And you are mine."
A devastating smile spread across his beautiful face as he showed his dimple to her.
Had she not been so enraptured by him, she would have noticed how many women had their panties wet just to see that heart-stopping smile on the cold chairman of Archon Group.
But just looking at the couple, people really thought that they were certainly the most good-looking pair they had ever seen.
That marked the first day of their married life.
Marriage was not easy, but nobody knew what awaited the celebrated couple.
While the guests shifted to the grand reception area, Aliana had briefly stepped away to change from her wedding gown to something more relaxing.
When she stepped out, she looked ravishing in another ivory dress.
The strapless sweetheart bodice hugged her figure flawlessly, adorned with shimmering beadwork and delicate embroidery that sparkled with every movement. From her waist, the gown flowed into cascading layers of soft tulle, each tier trimmed with intricate embroidery that added graceful volume and movement. Behind her swept a magnificent cathedral-length train, its glittering lace edges trailing elegantly across the floor.
A dazzling diamond necklace and matching earrings completed the look, while her blonde hair bounced loosely behind her as she stepped with Gavriel onto the dance floor for their first dance.
Soft music filled the grand hall as the newlyweds stepped into the centre of the floor. With a playful tug, Gavriel drew her into his arms, and together they began moving gracefully to the rhythm of the music.
As the melody swelled, so did the pace of their dance.
He was so mesmerised by her radiant, beaming face that he could not resist twirling her around or dipping her low, drawing out a sound like chiming bells that delighted his ears.
Sweeping her through the crowd, he realised that her soft laughter was fast becoming his favourite music, right alongside the breathless moans he elicited from her when they were alone.
Watching the couple dazzle the dance floor with their graceful yet playful movements, the people around them could not help but smile at the sizzling chemistry they projected.
It was infectious, to say the least.
Some had tears of emotion in their eyes, while others cheered them on, led by Jade and Cillian.
When Gavriel gave her one final twirl, the music came to a stop, and the crowd burst into applause and laughter.
The MC then invited the other guests to join them on the dance floor.
Jade, who was watching her best friend finally get married, commented with a warm smile, "I have never seen her this happy."
Cillian, who was sipping his drink, turned his gaze to the woman next to him before replying, "I can say the same about Gavriel."
"Really?" Jade asked, genuine surprise flickering across her face. She turned her attention back to Gavriel, noticing the faint smile resting on his lips, and murmured, "He is smiling... but only subtly."
"That’s him being happy," Cillian replied with a knowing smirk.
"They look beautiful together," Jade replied.
"Mhm," Cillian hummed in agreement before taking another sip of his drink. Then, glancing back at her, he casually asked, "So... where’s your date for tonight?"
Jade shot him a confused look. "What date?"
"Your boy-"
"Ask me about this boyfriend one more time," she warned, raising a hand to cut him off as she glared at him.
Cillian let out a chuckle, thoroughly entertained by how riled up she was getting.
"As you wish," he finally conceded, seeing the look in her eyes that suggested she wanted to bite his head off.
He placed his drink onto the tray of a passing server and extended his hand to her. "Since I do not see you saving a dance for anyone else."
Jade turned to him in surprise, her bright green eyes widening as she stared at his open palm before looking back up at his face.
"Unless you have wobbly legs," Cillian goaded.
That was all it took to snap her.
Setting her own drink down on the nearest table, she gripped his hand and muttered, "I will show you, demon."
She practically dragged him onto the dance floor, drawing the attention of multiple guests.
Watching from across the hall, Jade’s parents nearly had their eyes pop out of their sockets as they saw their daughter dragging the CEO of Archon Group onto the dance floor.
They could only silently pray she wasn’t about to cause yet another trouble.
As the music picked up, more guests joined the crowd, where the newly married couple continued to move.
Not far away, however, a pair of eyes remained fixed on one particular woman among the crowd.
A certain lady with fiery red hair.
