Chapter 2229: We Need More Spirit Queens

Gojo had one mission, and it was to save his brother’s life and existence. Ever since he realized the reality of his own existence, the universe had turned bleak and dark, turning into nothing more than a titanic machine that he needed to understand and tear apart.

"That day... when Yog tried to kill me, so you’d be born." Gojo looked at the empty room from behind his desk. "If... I had died then. Would this fate be different? Would you be the one looking for me? Or would everything fall back into place?"

Lilia appeared out of nowhere on his desk and looked at his face with a smile. "Yog wanted you dead, and I wanted you alive. The fate we’re in is the compromise we both agreed upon."

He looked at her with glowing blue eyes. "Yog doesn’t compromise."

He was right, and Lilia couldn’t agree more as she sat down. "She might perfectly mimic emotions, personality, and even show compassion, love, and hatred... but that’s all just an act."

All of Lilia’s scars and wounds showed up on her body as a tar clone silently escaped from her shadow and sat facing her. The clone looked vaguely halfling in shape, black, and filled with red eyes from head to toes.

"How painful, and I’ve been with you for eons, Lilia." Yog proclaimed with a smile of eyes. Lilia immediately shook her head. "But you aren’t calling me a liar. You’re just an emotionless, selfless machine, a collective consciousness of AO’s omniscience that works with the sole purpose of bringing him back."

Yog smiled and faded into Lilia’s body, "She is like a machine, and that’s why she gets along with Mellinimous." She then quickly gave the scroll Gojo was studying a look.

"Experimental new magic." She smiled, "Isn’t this a bit too complicated?"

Gojo looked at her for a second, and then sighed. "Complicated, that’s an understatement." What he was working was far beyond what should be even possible with magic.

She stood and took a step into the air, disappearing like a ghost and leaving only a few words behind. "I’ll get some old tomes that might help."

As she left him alone once more, Gojo silently went back to his research.

Back at Arad’s Private Quarter, the Spirit Queens all gathered in the same room, and they had a very important matter to discuss. Zephyr, Nar, Gaia, Rilyeh, Salamander, Plum, and Undine. But they weren’t the only ones in the room, as every one of them had brought with her ten spirits to act as their direct servants, leaving the room filled with a hundred and forty spirits.

"Arad is now the Spirit Emperor, meaning we all need to work as one." Zephyr looked at them all. "You all know what that means." As her eyes looked at them all one by one, Nar was the one to speak.

"All have our bases merge, and from today onward, we should plan closely together rather than coordinate as separate entities. This won’t affect the balance of the world, but it’ll link the two worlds together in a deeper way." She put one leg on another, and then threw a glance at Plum, Salamander, and Undine.

"You three are taking good care of Arad’s inner world, but don’t you need two more spirit Queens? Earth and Wind?" As Nar pointed out, Plum shook her head with a smile. "You don’t have a Plant Spirit Queen in the mortal world either."

Gaia smiled. "Even if we don’t have one, we’ve got a few Plant Spirits that work together as a council to manage that part. You two are leaving nature to its own. The planet and its atmosphere are only held by Arad’s will." She leaned forward. "You have a few earth and wind spirits running around, but their combined power isn’t even enough to carry 1% of what a true Spirit Queen could."

She clapped her hands, and from thin air, several spirits showed up. All of them were powerful earth spirits that worked under Gaia directly, and she asked them to stand on the table the Queens were sitting around.

As they did, Gaia tried to pitch them as candidates for the spot of the Earth Spirit Queen of Arad’s inner world. "As you can see, all of them are quite powerful and have a lot of spirit magic. None of them is anywhere near the level of a queen, but given enough years and love, they’ll grow into one."

"That isn’t the problem." Plum spoke up. "Can any of them assimilate herself with Arad’s world? Doing that requires more effort than simply becoming a spirit queen in the world they were born in." She pointed at them. "I know that because I was a mere spirit in Yog’s world, and here I am a queen in Arad’s world. The shift was nearly impossible."

Gaia nodded. "You became a spirit queen in Yog’s world before coming to Arad’s world, but since your powers didn’t fully develop, you found it easier to adapt and change. You had the best of both worlds, the power of a queen and the flexibility of an unstable power."

She then stood. "That’s why I chose them. Their powers are already stable, so they can’t just jump there and become queens, but they are willing to die and get digested by Arad to assimilate into the inner world." She smiled. "I call it die, but they won’t really die or perish. We’ll just use Arad’s stomach to digest their physical bodies and turn them into pure spiritual forms, and then let them try to merge with the planet. The one who succeeds will be immediately reborn as a Queen, and the rest can just form new bodies out of dirt and stone."

She then asked the spirits to step down from the table and move to the side of the room and stand ready. It was then Zephyr’s turn, and she called just one wind spirit, and to everyone’s surprise, this one looked absolutely unlike any other spirit.

First, she didn’t have any wings, was naked, and only wore jewellery on her body, including rings, anklets, necklaces, earrings, nose rings, nipple rings, toe rings, and far on every corner of her body. With one long look everyone could swear that she had more than two kilograms of gold on her.

But what drew everyone’s attention wasn’t her jewelry or the fact that she was getting turned on by being seen like this by everyone. But it was the fact that this wasn’t a pure-blooded spirit, but a half-breed.

Nar gave the spirit a look. "Isn’t this exhibitionist that fairy that died in Aella’s crowning? Did you do something to her back in the Elemental Plane of Wind?"

"Yes." Zephyr replied with a stern face. "I gave her the body of a wind Djinn, and she now has enough raw power to match a spirit queen. With the combined powers of both of her halves."

She spoke. "I can’t... use wishes here." She looked around, then at the table. "I wish... to assimilate all of the excess wind spirit energy into me." For a second, magic started gathering around her as if she were about to become a spirit queen, but in the next second, it all stopped.

A dark shadow engulfed half of the room, and the half-djinn half-spirit found herself face to groin with Arad, as with how tall he was, even in a humanoid form, her face barely even reached his groin.

Besides the Spirit Queens, not a single soul could even take a breath, and the half-breed smiled.
