The dragon's harem

Chapter 2179: A Shameful Display

The orc stared at the strange white bunny for a few long seconds, and then pointed his spear at it, speaking in a strange language. DelTaDa frowned in the back as he didn’t understand a single word. ^Now, this is troubling. Wizard, do you have a spell that translates what that green thing is saying?^

The Pigeon looked proud. ^I do, just finished developing it recently. But be careful; it doesn’t support complicated words or meanings.^ Merlin immediately cast the spell, making sure the orcs couldn’t notice her magic. She linked the bunny to the dragon’s mind and established a clear link that even made DelTaDa surprised. He had seen countless wizards in his life, but she was an exceptional talent.

The bunny’s body twisted, its red eyes moved, and then it spoke to the orc. "You’re on the land of DelTaDa, the Ancient Fire Dragon. Our Lord welcomes peaceful guests and burns the warmongers." Hearing the bunny speak in the orcs’ language made the orc standing in front of it freeze for a second, both shocked and horrified.

"DelTaDa, the one who rules this forest?" The orc leaned down to look at the tiny bunny.

"The Lord owns the forest of endless black trees, the mountain of the Flame Temple, and the land surrounding it. You’ve been intruding on his land for a while uninvited, so he sent me here. You don’t look like mere travellers."

The other orcs inside the vehicle walked out, looked at the bunny, and sent messages among each other through the communication devices implanted into their helmets. They were discussing two things. Whether they could kill this bunny and escape before this Lord catches up to them, and whether they could somehow trick it.

Merlin was already listening to their conversation, which made even DelTaDa horrified. He couldn’t even sense that they were talking with each other, but she did, interrupted the signal, and even managed to quickly create a spell to spy on their conversation and even record it for later study.

"I will advise against that. My Lord is watching, listening, and waiting at the ready. If you are a threat, he won’t hesitate to avenge even little me." As the bunny spoke, all of the orcs paled, unable to believe that it was listening to them. Their technology was highly secure, and everything in it was encrypted, so it almost made no sense that someone could spy on their communication.

The way Merlin managed to listen to their conversation was simple. Even if she didn’t understand how their technology worked or what encryption even is, that message was eventually fated to be decrypted and injected into the orcs’ brains directly... which is the domain of psychic and mind magic. To Merlin, those orcs could simply hear each other’s inner voices, and she could easily read that with magic.

"Come on... what are you talking about? We aren’t going to harm you." The orc leaned down to speak with the bunny again, smiling to pretend to look friendly while quickly shutting off all communications to scramble their encryption again and change the wavelength of their signals.

"How about this? Tell your Lord that we only seek peace. If he doesn’t attack us, we won’t harm anything either. Where does his territory end so we can leave peacefully if our presence here is not welcomed?" As he spoke, the bunny tilted its head. "The area is deadly. How about you talk with my lord directly? He can even offer you protection on your way out. He is quite influential in this continent, probably as much as Empress Isdis."

"Empress Isdis?" The orcs were confused. They saw Isdis fight, but they never learned her name or title. But this worked fine for DelTaDa and Merlin; they only needed to trust DelTaDa for now and think they were getting backing from a pretty powerful alien, like the ones they call Super aliens.

"Yellow hair, bright blue eyes, rides a massive white dragon, and fights within a deadly and endless storm of snow and cold. Our lord is the opposite of that: a storm of flames and inferno." This was even more enticing. They aren’t just getting support from someone powerful, but from the hard counter of one of the biggest threats they faced.

Even they understood that Isdis would eventually come for them, and so now that they have been isolated in this world, if they wanted to survive her wrath for a long while, they needed someone to protect them.

"We will be happy to meet your Lord. Care to guide us to him? We can even give you a ride, sir...?" They looked at the bunny and then were confused. What is this alien called... "Sir messenger." They settled on a safe nickname for the bunny.

"No need, my Lord is already here. He is pretty big and scary, so showing up out of nowhere always results in a fight, even though he loves peace." The bunny stared at them. "Please, keep your weapons down, and don’t shit yourselves."

The orcs laughed. "Shit ourselves, you’re selling us short. We can stare death in the face and smile."

It was then that DelTaDa showed himself, and the entire armored carriage was no bigger than one of his fangs. The fact that he was camouflaged right beside their carriage, the fact that they couldn’t detect such a titanic existence, and the fact that the moment he showed up, all of the sensors on their vehicle started screaming that a Super Alien was dangerously nearby, some of the orcs did shit themselves as the bunny said.

Inside the vehicle, one of the orcs, the woman responsible for scouting, was both shitting and pissing herself as she saw all the data their sensors collected about DelTaDa in just a few seconds. First, he was a similar species to the one Isdis rode -that was Kory- but he was red and far bigger in size -Kory is an adult, and he is an ancient, two stages above-. This one also was hot, far too hot to be allowed to exist. Their thermal sensors almost maxed out, sensing a temperature over 9000 degrees above absolute zero inside his body.

In short, DelTaDa was powerful and big enough to easily melt all the snow in the storm that Isdis caused. This made the bunny’s claim that he was equal in power to Empress Isdis pretty much accurate. Of course, that was before Isdis became a goddess.

Forget fighting him; if he wanted, he could turn this entire region into a boiling furnace. They have nothing to withstand such flames, and even their armored tank would melt like a snowflake on a hot coal with such heat.

The scout immediately sent that information to all other orcs, warning them that a victory is impossible, especially with them being so close to him. It didn’t take a smart orc to figure out that it would be a better choice for them and their entire species to bring this thing into their side.

"DelTaDa, the Ancient Fire Dragon." DelTaDa lowered his head to stare at their faces. "I smell shit; sorry if I scared you that badly. People always say that I’m horrifying, both due to my size and power."

The orc leader forced a smile. "We apologize for this shameful display; we’re peaceful beings. Even if we can fight and fend for ourselves, we always shy away from confrontations."
