The Duchess of the Attic

4. Duke's residence

"Master Hubert, welcome home. Your room is ready."

"Oh. Well, show her around."

As Opal finished going up the stairs, a deacon-like man was speaking to Hubert.

I can't really peek there to celebrate the two just married.

The faces of the servants lined up to welcome their husbands and wives are all uniformly cold and look to deserve an opal.

I wonder how rude that is, the servants here don't know, and Opal's anger crept up but managed to contain it.

It's not a good idea that your first impression is that you're angry.

Write it down to your heart, trying to call the maid's head later and pay attention.

There, a deacon-like man bowed his head to Opal and greeted him.

"Welcome aboard, ma'am. I am the deacon of this mansion, my name is Romit. If you need anything, please call me or this - Beth. Beth is a lady with a wife."

To Romit's words, a young woman lined up in front of him steps forward and bows her head.

But Opal didn't miss the disobedient look on that face.

Opal wanted to resent Hubert for what he told him and how the servants were thus rebellious.

Hubert at the time just walks inside the mansion.

"Then I will show you to your wife's room. Don't worry, you'll be tired today, we'll take you to your room for dinner."

"Really? Though I'm fine?

"It's Mrs. Northam's concern."

"... yes"

Even the butler still thinks her mistress is Mrs. Northam.

Besides, if it's "your concern" to eat in your room without celebrating your first night of marriage, what's wrong with your wife?

But I didn't want to make a scene in the mansion where I had just been married, and Opal followed Romit in silence.

Whatever the size of the mansion, it's usually the same build, so Opal, up the big stairs in the front, quickly found the master bedroom that would be his room.

But Romit walks past that room.

Apparently it was an opal I thought was a misunderstanding, but when I realized it was coming to the far end of the hallway.

Romit opens the door there.

Opal, surprised but prompted to enter the room, realized that it was a guest no matter what he saw there.

"Romit, is this my room?

"Thank you very much."

"But this is a guest house. Hey, haven't you re-modeled the master bedroom yet?

"No. This room is certainly the furthest from the stairs, but it has plenty of washrooms and closets, and most importantly, the view through the window is a wonderful one. Mrs. Northam was chosen for her wife because she never bothered by annoying noises again."

"... I appreciate your concern, but am I the Duchess? You should use the master bedroom, right? I need you to move your stuff now."

"I can't do that."

"Why?"

"The master bedroom - continues with Master Hubert, because Stella is using it."

"Is...?

I knew he had a high attitude, but he couldn't be licked here, and Opal ordered Romit, scolding himself.

I never thought I'd be able to use the master bedroom or push it into a room at this end.

Even more astonishing was the fact that Opal was stunned.

I can see the blood pulling from my face.

Still, I held my left hand with my right hand wondering if it was something that would fall here, and I opened my mouth if I didn't say something.

"Is that Stella, your husband's mistress?

Words popped up that I hadn't even thought of, but I guess I can't help thinking about it that way.

But now, the blood draws from Romit's face when he hears Opal's words.

"No way... I'm sorry about this"

Romit, with the look on his face that he just couldn't believe, finally threw his contempt gaze at Opal and left the room.

The leftover opal glimpsed Beth, a samurai ready to change like nothing had happened.

She doesn't say anything, but she seems angry listening to the conversation right now.

Apparently, there are angels in this mansion.

And we're all hostile to snakes because they've got snakes in there that could taint that angel.

Opal, who gave up marriage in his second season, didn't care about his reputation or anything else.

But this is how its reputation is now avenged.

(But I saved this house, didn't I? And yet why do I have to be ridiculed by the first servants I've ever met so far?)

The more I think about it, the angrier I get, the more rage I've been holding back.

The snake in this mansion is not himself.

I have not met him yet, but it must be the person who is partitioning this house - Mrs Northam - who is instigating everyone.

You probably think your position will be threatened.

"Ridiculous"

From a wedding dress, it was a squeaky opal while dressed in an easy dress, but Beth, who should have heard, says nothing.

Let's still offer to get separated when I'm twenty.

I heard powerful footsteps approaching me when I was determined that I couldn't possibly be able to do a child or something at this rate anyway.

Only Hubert is allowed to make such a sound in this mansion.

It was still Hubert standing across the open door without a knock.

"Sir..."

I had just finished dressing, but Opal tried to tell me to knock because he wondered what I would do if I was on my way.

But I clog my voice with the sight of Hubert's face approaching me in the shape of a ghost.

"-!"

"What a filthy woman! Stella... Stella, mistress, etc!

He nearly screamed in pain with his right arm tight, but Opal ate his teeth all over him.

When Hubert exhales his anger, he keeps his hands off Opal all the time saying it's dirty.

"I will not allow you to meet Stella. Look, let Beth through when you want to get out of the room. If it happens by chance, I can't wait. Of course, I won't stop you from going out. However, even if you were in a cage, I wouldn't recognize you. Speaking of couples, I'm going to petition the royal court's attorney."

Is that all you said and satisfied, Hubert finally glanced at Opal before leaving.

Opal left his bumpy and painful arms sloppy and dropped off behind him.

And Beth didn't say anything in the meantime, she just kept quiet in the corner of the room.
