The Economics of Prophecy

One story: Part Two First Objectives

"That's kind of abstract. And it's plain. Specifically?

"I am not a simple strength or weakness in magic. I mean, it's not just the amount, it's the wavelength."

"Right. It's called the intensity of magic."

Fulsey said. Sensory Demon Paper is monochrome. The strength of magic simply becomes intense. But......

"Well, that's the element of magic. You mean color. So?"

Mathier said. That's exactly what I expected. Later, whether the principle behind that color is what I think it is.

"I want you to see this first"

I took out what I had prepared. It's a prism, a crystal sharpened on a triangle column. More than I can handle magic, I just have to explain it with what I can see.

I received a magnifying glass from Fulsey and a thin slit from Noel into a plate of demonic gold that I had asked Noel for beforehand.

Open the window on the west side to bring in light. The spin of this world is the same as Earth's. What? No, you just think I'm east of the word indicating the direction of the sun.

Using magnifying glasses, the collected light is placed on the slit, narrowly squeezed, and then passed through the prism. The light coming out of the prism produces a seven-colored rainbow on a white slab.

"It's a seemingly white light, but so many colored lights are made together. That is divided by the difference in the refractive index per wavelength with respect to the crystal. This is the nature of a wave of light."

So far, I explained, and I realized the audience wasn't following me. They are all pompous.

"Again, I'm going to say a little bit of knowledge I've never heard of."

"You've seen rainbows before. It's just like that one. It's also water vapor in the air, like fog, and the light can be refracted."

"So don't explain why you can do a rainbow lightly"

Noel said.

"We're going to be the key. spectrum...... this rainbow pattern varies depending on what is the light out of it. On the other hand, if you look at this spectrum, you can see the nature of what's emitting it."

So you're saying that magic is the same thing.

The look on Mathier's face has become serious. Yes, the empire should be more advanced about the color of magic.

I saw the edge of a rainbow made of prism, next to purple. Ultraviolet light exists here, though invisible to people. In other words, it's a higher energy light than visible light that humans can't recognize, but humans can recognize. For example, insects that collect honey can see ultraviolet light, so they can see patterns of flowers that are invisible to humans.

"Of course we need verification. But if we can analyze those patterns, the information we get from the observation of the demonic vein should rise dramatically."

Spectrum analysis of magic, so to speak. This is my suggestion. Maityle opens her mouth after thinking about it.

"I need to make sure. You who do not have magic can only see the light that appears indirectly in the expression of magic, not magic itself. You shouldn't recognize the color of magic like we do. Even we can't clearly recognize it like that rainbow you just made. Yet you are talking about something ahead of the color. On what grounds?"

Fast and helpful to understand. Then all the things in this world are waves..., can't they be boulders? I can't even explain it intellectually.

"First of all, you definitely don't look like me. But there are two reasons for that. Both are visible from the movement of the Empire."

"Heh..."

"One is the sticky fungus that the Empire has sprinkled on my kingdom... a castle bug. That bug was drawn to the magic emanating from the wood carried from the empire. You recognize the same pattern of magic wavelengths as your hometown, so to speak, it smells like your hometown. In other words, there is a difference in which color components are strong depending on the region, which is a cluttered magic. Aren't you?

"... that bug says the nature of magic, the color of temper. So I'm pretty sure I'm deciding where to go."

Mathier nodded carefully.

"The other is the special demonic crystal that the Empire used. Not only is this powerful, but it also stores dark magic in the color of magic. It can't be captured by normal magic sensing"

This is information from the curator. Even if it takes a measuring device, it's hard for a magician to recognize it.

"That's right. Though the kingdom's technology may only tell strength. We learned that using materials that react to magic coming out of a particular source of magic. The demon crystal is called deep red."

Is it like a substance that reacts only to ultraviolet light? Is it deep red because it is darker than normal magic? Even light is not just the total amount of energy, there are phenomena where wavelengths matter. Famous is Einstein's Nobel Prize performance in describing the photoelectric effect.

No matter how many times you hit a weak photon, or red light, you can't start electrons out of the metal. However, if a few strong photons, ultraviolet light, are hit, electrons are started. Because when photons and electrons collide in the micro world, it's a one-on-one relationship.

"... you're somewhat honest. What happened to the exchange of information?

Mathier's knowledge is as expected, but this is also creepy the other way around when they say it lightly.

"Because it doesn't seem like there's any point in hiding it. But the replacement is replaced. I need you to tell me what you know about the Devil's Vein."

"I know. Let me tell you how we looked at the long-term demonic pulse fluctuations in the Empire."

I look at Fulsey.

"That's it. I honestly relieved myself when I was shown a pattern of demonic veins from a long time ago in the kingdom that we don't even know about. The empire's accumulation of power was a glitch. How did you do that?"

"Then the curator, please"

I nodded to the curator. Fulsey took out the sensory demon paper and the annual wheel sample. That's the rest of the sample I took away from you when you were the Mucus Warcraft. Fulsey's hand shows the magic pattern of the annual wheel on the Sensory Demon Paper.

"I can't believe there's a record in the tree... Oh, my God. So we taught them on purpose."

"You're unlucky."

"It's definitely not luck. There's a theoretical basis for all the explanations."

Fulsey and Noel nod at Mathier's words.

"I'm glad you're convinced. Then let's get back to specifics."

What we've been doing so far is a graph of time horizontally, vertically, of the simple strength of magic. What I want to know now is even more spectrum of magic at that point in time. We need new technologies to do that.

"What I want everyone to work on is a measuring instrument that measures the wavelength of magic, the intensity of each color. I don't think that's a bad idea for the first time."

"The first purpose……. What you're saying is a clarification of the basic nature of magic..."

Mathier turned into a bewildered look.

"Not enough? Demonic pulse fluctuations are, in short, fluctuations in magic power. I think we need a more detailed analysis to understand that."

Make it magic, make it magic. It's more application than foundation. It was not until the nineteenth century, at best, that the perception spread that even the planet's pure principles of science were directly linked to technology and commerce. That's probably why there wasn't much light so far on Fulsey's measurement technology.

"Because the other way around. It is an unprecedented method of analysis of magic, which is fundamental to magic guidance. It's about that incredible magic circuit that Kurtheit showed me."

Mathier bumbled her neck.

"I'm not as used to it as I am to it."

"... just a little sympathy. I'm gonna get caught up in this, and I'm gonna tell you, it's vain."

Fulsey and Noel said. It's a good thing the air just loosened me up a little bit in the stock.

I have a system of scientific knowledge that we don't have here. I'm just applying a concept that someone in the original world thought of. The real specs would suck among the members here, though.

You have Leonardo in trouble. Move the pen just now and it will stop. Repeat. Alfina is taking notes hard. It was her advantage. Whether it be honey or carriage, try to properly understand knowledge that is roughly irrelevant to the princess. Thanks to you, how many times have you been helped?

"But based on the principle of the intensity of magic, it's only hypothetical that the components of magic can be broken down."

said Mathier, who regained his calm.

"You're right. Now we have to see if we can separate the components of magic like we did with light."

"What do you need?

"It's an ingredient that refracts magic."

I took the prism in my hand. Magic is so special. I can't use prisms or lenses because I bare the glass. Actually, there was something like that in the magic catalyst, but when extracted, the effect disappeared.

"I have an idea. Dragon material crusaded in the kingdom, eyes still there?

"We're not used to dealing with them. I'm not supposed to be untouched."

"Have it ready, and I'll give you directions for processing the surface according to the measuring instruments you actually make. I don't know if I have enough ingredients, but the baggage I bring here is a lot more restricted."

Mathier resented me. There's no way you can let the greatest demon mentor in the Empire bring you unlimited. The kingdom, of course, would be an empire.

"Well, I'll tell you at first it was more than I expected."

Mathier still laughed contentedly.

"Yes, finally tell me about that special demonic crystal, Deep Red, too. Where do you get that one?

"Too bad. That's not the kind of information I can get out at last. As for that... well, I'll tell you how to make that magic catalyst in exchange."

"I think I gave you a lot of information."

"Alas, all I heard was a hypothesis, right? I'm helping you demonstrate, so you're in balance."

Wouldn't it be easier if it were information on important resources? Well, I got the information I wanted for the moment.

I saw Fulsey questioning Mathier as happy about the dragon material and Noel watching it from behind.

I wondered what would happen, but as a start I guess I could say it's good.
