The Economics of Prophecy

Twelve Stories: First Half Confidence

A week after doing business cooking at the Duke's residence. Me and Alfina headed to the lab after we cut the dossier research in the library. Today is the day Mathilde heralds her accomplishments. By the way, they're pushing me just in case I forget to reward you.

Thanks to this, Natalie and the others are making ice cream in the curator's office right now.

When I go upstairs in the lab and open the door, there's Mathilde, who puts his arms around us and stares at us. Behind the room is Noel, who is adjusting the optical path platform, and Fulsey, who has something like a board.

Good. Looks like Meer made it, too. You gave me a little face and helped me out, didn't you?

"Is ice cream ready?

"The first voice is that or, yeah, they're making it now."

I looked behind Mathier's back, I don't see any big difference in the optical platform Noel is playing. What I see in my eyes is that the prism is back in one. That one is bigger than before.

"Then I'll start explaining. This is what we invented."

Mayteer put up two pieces that stabbed him in the stick. Rotating one hand at a time, twirling, is a transparent part that fits in a round circle.

"Is that a lens? But..."

Probably made of dragon crystal. I'm not particularly uncomfortable when I think of it as an experiment in light.

Squeeze with the lens and the surface area becomes smaller. In other words, the density of magic power per unit area increases. But there must have been two disadvantages. One is to contradict the purpose of distinguishing the differences in wavelengths, since the spacing also narrows. And the refractive index changes where the lens hits.

"The first is here"

Looking satisfied at me with my neck, Mathier set up the first on the optical platform. Unlike what I expected, it's between slits and prisms.

"Do you squeeze the light in from the slit with a lens? Isn't that strange?"

"No, I'm not. Reverse, reverse."

Mathier saw Fulsey. Fulsey gets up and goes in front of the tablet. A diagram is depicted in which the light that hits the lens ties the focus. A slit is then written to the position of the focus.

"Flip what the Lord has just said. The focus of this lens is just on the slit. What happens when the magic squeezed in the slit spreads toward the lens?

Instead of squeezing the light, accept that the squeezed light has spread. Not an experiment in paper-burning science, but a direction when looking at things with magnifying glasses?

"Bring the angled light back into parallel with the lens in the process of spreading from the slit. This was decisively important."

"Well, all the light hits the prism at the same angle."

I see the magic squeezed in the slit extends slightly to the prism. In other words, it hits the prism at various angles from the center of magic to the edge. Then the direction of bending slightly changes even at the same wavelength when refracting. In other words, the statue shown blurs to the left and right. But once the magic is adjusted with the lens so that it goes straight, the problem disappears.

... How come they made me recognise that my knowledge is stopped in elementary school.

"That sort of thing. And put the other lens here."

Place the lens Mathier had in his left hand after the prism.

"Now we're going to focus on where we're off every magic wavelength."

That's the first effect I imagined. After the light emitted from the demonic crystal is narrowed to a single point by the slit, it spreads. Return it parallel with the first lens and divide it by wavelength in prism. The magic divided by wavelength is the next lens, which focuses on different places for each wavelength. Now every wavelength is shifted and squeezed.

A pencil with both ends sharpened if you think simply about the magic flow. The first lens is a magnifying glass. The second lens can be considered the human eye.

I managed to understand that with a lousy brain.

"But you've come up with this a lot"

"As it were, well, Ricardo's words can't even be hinted at. I remember a strange stream of magic behind the head of a castle bug. Now that I think about it, I figured out what I could do to imitate the shape of the flow."

I see, was that what Maitille was looking into at the Duke's residence?

"Come on, it's more evidence than theory. I'll show you the power of the new analyzer."

On Maytil's signal, Noel installed a small demonic crystal in an improved spectrum measuring instrument. I couldn't measure it at all last time, it's a magic crystal for one of the Mucus Warcraft.

Sensory Demon Paper senses light in just a few minutes. Isn't it the speed at which normal demon crystals are used? Sure enough, the magic power of the Mucus Warcraft Crumb Demon Crystal was one-hundredth.

"You're such a different thing"

To my surprise, Mathilde puts her chest up.

"Efficiency overlaps at every location, mainly the lens. Passing the lens before hitting the prism also increases the width of the magic source captured in the slit. And the effect of the lens increases the separability, so the prism is all you need, and the loss in the prism is half. The amount of exposure per unit area also by squeezing the degraded wavelength. Later..."

Mathier saw Noel and Fulsey.

"I applied the pigment of the Sensory Devil's Paper to the Demonic Silver, not the paper, which eliminated the coarseness of the paper's fibers and also increased the adsorption of magic. … the cost increases considerably."

"Prism has decreased, but I've had a hard time getting lens accuracy."

"Besides, Meer calculated the distance and angle of the optical path for me. Thanks to you, trial and error are minimal."

The four nodded at each other. There's a whole team vibe while I'm gone.

"I'm not looking forward to pointing this at the demon pulse right now. Well, what can you show me?"

"It could also be used to analyze alchemy processes. I think it would be better to install it in a magic dorm. I mean, I don't know what they'd say if they had this monopoly."

"Now we can finally get back to the books..."

A magic squad that talks about soothing and future prospects. One of them is attacking my heart.

"The possibility of this isn't like that. We can analyze magic at an unprecedented level. There are as many uses as there are. … although your intentions are involved."

I went to see Leonardo with Mathier at the back of the line. Look at me like Leonardo's in trouble. The greater the power of the device, the more headache the problem becomes. No, it's my responsibility to take advantage of that more than the magic squad has achieved. First, the measurement of the demonic vein shows effectiveness as can be seen in the Royal Palace. And cut into the mechanism of crystal prophecy.

Well, that's a later story. Now, let's respond to Maityle as she turns her anticipation eyes against her bragging chest.

"Then give me the promised stuff... Shelly, please."

I headed for the back door. Take that as a signal and bring in the plate Shelley and Natalie put on the tray.

On a plate is a brown cream rippled, with black grains scattered over it. Brown and black. Mayteel hangs her neck over the plain appearance. By the way, Plura, who helped me make this, looked the same.

"This one is more proof than a theory. Try it."

Natalie nods slowly at my words, Shelly nagging. Because Mathilde was so confident. Even this one made me prepare my self-confidence.
