"Right, you still have a mission. How’s the one I gave you coming along?" Ting Fengyin said, picking a fruit and handing it over. "This batch of fruit is good for your Cultivation. It’ll let you save on some Elixirs."

Jiang Man took the fruit and asked, "Can I pick some more then?"

Ting Fengyin paused, taken aback. "Go ahead, pick them yourself."

Jiang Man didn’t hesitate and got to work. He’d expected there would be some side effect preventing him from picking many, but to his surprise, he really could take as many as he wanted.

Soon, Jiang Man had left five fruits on the tree and plucked all the rest, stashing them in his Storage Treasure.

Watching the scene, Ting Fengyin remarked with a sigh, "Your Cultivation speed is average, but you’re certainly fast when it comes to picking fruit."

Jiang Man felt like he’d made a huge profit. ’If he wants to make a few remarks, let him. It’s not like I’m losing out.’

’If one fruit is worth one Elixir, I’ve got at least forty of them.’

’A huge windfall.’

"So, tell me about your progress on the mission," Ting Fengyin said.

Jiang Man reported on the Demon Lord, explaining that he had found the target but had let him go for now and was keeping him under observation.

"And Meng Qiewei?" Ting Fengyin asked.

"I’ve found Ji Meng and am making contact," Jiang Man reported truthfully.

"Is she easy to approach?"

"Quite easy, yes."

Ting Fengyin took a bite of a fruit and shook his head. "I’m afraid you’ve run into an imposter."

Jiang Man wasn’t bothered by the comment. He hesitated for a moment before saying, "I’ve come across a few things recently. Would you like to see them?"

"Things?" Ting Fengyin asked, puzzled. "Don’t tell me this is about you getting involved with that Evil God? You’re a member of the Zhenyue Bureau, yet you’re acting as an Evil God’s Spokesman. Aren’t you afraid of being arrested?"

Jiang Man froze. He hadn’t expected Ting Fengyin to have seen through him.

"It was an offer I couldn’t refuse," Jiang Man said, then explained the situation.

After all, it was a deceased Evil God, and still within the Sect’s sphere of control, so Jiang Man wasn’t overly concerned.

Ting Fengyin didn’t press the issue, however, apparently content to let Jiang Man handle it himself.

Then, Jiang Man took out several items. "In any case, you should take a look at what I’ve acquired recently."

As he spoke, Jiang Man laid out the Broken Sword, the Iron Sword, the Fishing Compass, and the Immortal Dao Coordinate.

After a moment’s hesitation, he brought out the Evil God Token as well.

Ting Fengyin stared at the items, one after another. He was silent for a long while before raising an eyebrow at Jiang Man. "You’ve acquired all this in just one year?"

"No wonder your Cultivation is so slow."

Jiang Man fell silent. He felt like he was being constantly insulted.

’He calls my Cultivation slow? Would anyone else dare say that?’

"Impressive," Ting Fengyin said, looking at the items on the ground. "This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone acquire so many things in such a short period. And every single one has a history."

Jiang Man watched quietly, a little worried that Ting Fengyin might suddenly have one of his episodes.

After all, the man had a history of going berserk.

"How did you get all this?" Ting Fengyin asked.

Jiang Man pushed the Broken Sword, the Iron Sword, and the Compass to one side. "These three, I just had a feeling they were special, so I kept them. I know a bit about the origins of the other two."

"Especially the Immortal Dao Coordinate. If it weren’t for you, I never would have obtained it. So you have to take responsibility for this one."

Ting Fengyin sighed. "I admit, I never expected you’d get your hands on this directly. But don’t you have that Evil God? Just have her help you suppress it. It’s not a big deal."

"It would actually be for the best if those people detect you. If I’m free, I can come over directly."

’Old Huang was right,’ Jiang Man thought. ’Ting Fengyin is practically hoping the Evil God will make a move, so he can come and deal with it himself.’

’Still, his proposed solution was the same as Meng Qiewei’s: use the Evil God to suppress it.’

Then, Ting Fengyin’s gaze fell upon the Compass. He was silent for a long time before taking another bite of fruit. "I have to say, you and I are connected by fate."

With that, he pocketed the Compass. "I’ll be taking this," he said. "As for the two swords..."

Ting Fengyin raised his eyebrows at Jiang Man. "You’ve made contact with that Ji Meng, haven’t you? Go give them to her. If she really is Meng Qiewei, she definitely won’t move against you."

"That will give you an opportunity to kill her."

"Now then, tell me what help you want."

Jiang Man didn’t ask any more questions. He gathered the remaining items and said, "Sir, this Zui Fusheng identity is a cover, to help me better complete my missions."

"But if the day comes when Zui Fusheng has to appear in public, what am I supposed to do?"

"If I need to fight, what kind of Magic Skills should I use?"

"I can’t very well use the ones I already know, can I?"

"Not only would my real identity be exposed, but my current Magic Skills would tarnish the Zui Fusheng name."

At this, Ting Fengyin looked at Jiang Man. "You want to learn some Magic Skills that won’t give away your identity?"

"And preferably some that can also conceal my identity," Jiang Man added after a pause. "Otherwise, if I’m identified after killing Meng Qiewei, wouldn’t that be suicide?"
