"Wow, the smell of alcohol is so strong! Keep your distance from my daughter and son."

When Liu Banxia came home after eating and drinking, Qiaoqiao almost kicked him out.

"I couldn’t help it, Comrade Old Qiu was drinking happily, and Chief Director Xu was in high spirits. Plus, I met Boss Cheng today, I couldn’t refuse," Liu Banxia said with a bitter smile.

"It’s just the smell of alcohol; I’m not drunk. I even called our dad, but he refused to come. I had no choice but to face it all alone."

"There’s no reasoning behind having a son-in-law use his father-in-law as a shield for drinking," Qiao Xuezhi said helplessly with a laugh.

"Hehe, I was thinking you could help me manage the situation. Comrade Old Qiu even betrayed us today, and started pouring drinks for himself," Liu Banxia said with a smile.

Qiao Xuezhi laughed, he liked this kind of talk. Knowing that this son-in-law of his always respected him, and thought of him in such situations.

"Haha, I bet Uncle Qiu isn’t having an easy time tonight either," Qiaoqiao laughed, her eyes twinkling.

"Alright, go take a shower first, or you’ll get my grandchildren smoked out," Peng Xiuzhi said.

"Brother-in-law, didn’t you say that even if you’re socializing outside, it’s best not to drink, so you don’t mess up the appointments for tomorrow?" Qiao Yu asked.

"Today was really unavoidable, I discussed the collaboration with Jinshui District Hospital. I’ll go take a shower first, then I’ll play with you and the two little ones," Liu Banxia said as he ran to the washroom.

Qiaoqiao gave her brother a helpless look, he’s so grown-up now, and yet he’s still treated like a child by Liu Banxia. Other kids might not like it, but her baby brother looks forward to him coming home.

"Why are you always around him?" Qiaoqiao asked.

"Talking with you guys is no fun, chatting with brother-in-law is interesting. You all just want me to study, but I can connect with brother-in-law," Xiaoyu said earnestly.

"Alright, alright, he’s the good one, okay?" Qiaoqiao said, feeling helpless.

"It’s the truth, you don’t see things as clearly as brother-in-law does," Qiao Yu said.

Qiaoqiao really had nothing left; this brother of hers is now Liu Banxia’s number one fan. Every day after work, they have to chat for at least a few bucks worth of time, and if possible, they even extend it a bit.

Liu Banxia was quick with his shower, and as soon as he came out, he joined his daughter and son.

Since he went out for a meal today, these two little ones were sleeping soundly. He intended to poke them a bit, but under Qiaoqiao’s death stare, he withdrew his hand.

But just as Qiaoqiao turned away, he sneakily touched his daughter’s little hand, and with a sense of satisfaction, strolled out.

People aim to move upward, it’s an inevitable result.

"Honestly, other families hope their wives stay home to take care of the kids, and here you are, constantly pushing me out," Qiaoqiao said helplessly.

"Staying cooped up at home becomes boring. When they’re a bit older, get a child seat and take them on walks," Liu Banxia said.

"Some of the patients we handle at our hospital suffer from postpartum depression, mostly caused by being overwhelmed by their babies. How many families like ours are there, with so many people caring for these two little ones?"

"Find something for yourself to do, treat it as a way to unwind. When you’re in a good mood, even if they keep fussing, you can see it as them happily playing."

"Hmph, when they grow up, I’ll tell them you treated them as toys," Qiaoqiao said.

"I’m not afraid of them, they’re my big toys, ones that grow," Liu Banxia said delightfully.

Everyone laughed along, these two little ones, indeed, were quite the handful. Even though the elder was relatively well-behaved, he could still be a bit troublesome.

Fortunately, the family had plenty of people, otherwise, it would be quite challenging to handle them.

Not only did they have people watching over, but Tang Dou and its pups were also there. This was a unique advantage, unlike other families who, upon expecting babies, send the dogs away.

Just as they were chatting, a loud cry came from the room.

"The second one probably needs a diaper change, now that’s a real cry," Qiaoqiao noticed and said.

"You can tell them apart?" Liu Banxia wondered.

"Absolutely. Little one’s playing games with me, but if I couldn’t handle this much, how would I dare to call myself their mom," Qiaoqiao said proudly before running off to change the diaper.

Qiao Xuezhi watched with satisfaction; for him, Liu Banxia achieving something in his career was just a bonus. What mattered most was that he truly cared for Qiaoqiao.

In the past, he didn’t think much of Liu Banxia, no matter how handsome he was. Now he’s seen a lot more clearly; although he’s busy, his heart genuinely treasures his beloved daughter, and that’s enough.
