The Entry-plundering Demon Hunter

Chapter 206: Dorm Roommates

"Alright, this is as far as I can take you.

I can’t go into the men’s dormitory!"

"You guys can go on your own. If you have any problems, just give me a call!"

Qin Zhaoxue had escorted Lin Yi, Wei Nan, and the others all the way to the entrance of Zone 1.

She and Shen Mengyi couldn’t go any further.

Lin Yi and Wei Nan thanked her profusely again.

If Qin Zhaoxue hadn’t guided them all the way today,

they would have definitely gotten lost in the vast Xingwu University.

It was just too big.

It had taken nearly twenty minutes just to walk from the main gate to the admissions office.

After finishing registration, it was another ten-plus minute walk to get their Martial Artist certifications done.

By now, it was already noon.

In other words, they had spent most of the morning just walking.

And that was with Qin Zhaoxue leading the way.

If they had come on their own, they probably couldn’t have finished everything in a single day.

After Lin Yi’s group and Qin Zhaoxue said their goodbyes,

Qin Zhaoxue took Shen Mengyi back to the women’s dormitory in Zone 1.

The two of them were in the same dormitory zone,

so they could look out for each other.

"This university is huge. This one dormitory zone alone is about the size of our entire Third Middle School, isn’t it?"

Walking into dormitory Zone 1,

Wei Nan gazed at the huge field and the rows of dormitory buildings.

He couldn’t help but sigh in amazement.

Lin Yi, Zhou Qi, and the others were equally stunned.

Xingwu University was truly larger than they had ever anticipated.

Especially since it had its own independent cafeteria, library, Cultivation Field, and various other facilities.

There was no need to compete with other students from the rest of the university.

Entering Zone 1, there were very few students on the field, and the environment was relatively quiet.

It wasn’t noisy and chaotic.

Moreover, according to Qin Zhaoxue, the students who could live in dormitory Zone 1

were mostly locals from the New District; there were basically no students from the Old District.

Evidently, this was a form of regional discrimination and segregation.

The Martial Arts University in the New District would, in all aspects, give preferential treatment to its local students.

In contrast, it was rather cold toward students from the Old District.

Lin Yi and his friends found Dormitory Building 1.

Following the room number on their key cards, they made their way up to the fifth floor.

"505, this one is for Sun Tao and Zhou Qi. We need to keep going further down the hall!"

Zhou Qi and Sun Tao both smiled and nodded.

"See you guys later, then. We’re heading in!"

The two smiled and walked into their dorm room together.

Lin Yi and Wei Nan continued walking for a little longer.

"508, this is it!" Wei Nan stopped outside a dorm room.

He looked at the number above.

This was his and Lin Yi’s room.

"This is so high-class. You even need to swipe a card to get in. Anyone who didn’t know better would think this was a hotel!"

After saying this with a laugh,

Wei Nan took his key card and swiped it lightly on the door.

With a soft BEEP, the door automatically opened a crack.

The two of them walked in, one after the other.

It was a four-person suite.

They had expected the dorm to be like they imagined, with four bunk beds lining the sides after entering.

But it wasn’t like that at all.

It was truly like walking into a hotel room.

The entrance was a foyer, and opposite it was a living room.

On either side of the living room were two separate bedrooms, one for each person.

Furthermore, each room had its own bathroom, so there was no need to fight over one.

Besides that, there was no kitchen in the suite.

Meals were to be eaten in the cafeteria; private cooking was not allowed.

And where a kitchen would have been, there was a training room...

As he stood in the living room and took in his surroundings,

the corners of Wei Nan’s mouth never dropped, his face a mask of astonishment.

"Holy crap, this dorm is way too luxurious, isn’t it?"

"Damn, there are even detectors?"

Wei Nan walked into the training room and found that although the space wasn’t large, it was fully equipped with all sorts of instruments.

A Qi and Blood Detector, a strength detector...

And all these detectors were the latest models.

They were completely different from the old-fashioned ones at school or in the Martial Arts Hall.

"Just one of these detectors must cost a few million, right? Is Xingwu University this loaded?"

Wei Nan’s current mood was beyond words.

Ever since arriving at Xingwu University today,

his deepest impression was... opulence. The kind of opulence that screamed ’new money’.

The entire university exuded an indescribable air of extravagance.

The very air seemed to reek of money.

Lin Yi shot him a glance. "Stop acting so impressed. Let’s go meet our other two roommates first!"

"Right, I almost forgot about them. They must be here already, right?

Didn’t the resident advisor say that our room and Zhou Qi’s room each had two spots left?"

"The other two must have arrived!"

After saying that, Wei Nan went straight to knock on the doors of the other rooms.

A moment later, people emerged from Room 2 and Room 3.

As the four of them looked at each other,

Wei Nan said with a smile, "Hey, roommates! Starting today, we’re all roommates. Let’s introduce ourselves. My name is Wei Nan, and this is my buddy, Lin Yi. We’re from the Old District!"

As soon as he said that, the expressions of the other two changed.

One of the guys, who had slightly darker skin and a build as big and burly as Wei Nan’s,

looked at them with some surprise. "From the Old District? And you actually made it into Zone 1?"

Lin Yi glanced back at him.

[3-star Martial Artist Certification]

’I can’t believe I’ve run into a student with a 3-star cultivation level here.’

It was quite a surprise for Lin Yi.

The guy from Room 2, however, showed no surprise.

He walked over with a faint smile. "Don’t mind him. That’s just how he is, he speaks without thinking. My name is Wei Shang, a local student from the New District!"

"That’s Feng Lei. He’s from the same high school as me!"

"You’re Lin Yi? I’ve heard of you. The Martial Arts Examination Champion Scholar from the Old District, took first place in the whole district with a 3-star cultivation?

Huh? Wait... holy shit, a 4-star Martial Artist certification badge?"

Before Wei Shang could even finish his sentence,

he caught sight of the badge pinned to Lin Yi’s chest.

His expression changed drastically in an instant.

This discovery not only shocked him beyond belief,

but even Feng Lei, who was standing to the side, took a few quick strides forward.

When he also saw the glittering gold Martial Artist certification badge, his face immediately turned grave.

Lin Yi smiled. "Just got it certified!"

"Badass. I never thought the Old District would produce a monster like you.

You got a 4-star Martial Artist certification badge on the very first day of school?"

"No wonder you guys could get into dormitory Zone 1!"

Wei Shang quickly regained his composure.

Although his eyes were still filled with amazement at Lin Yi,

he had a smile back on his face.

And his attitude toward Lin Yi and Wei Nan, the two students from the Old District,

was completely different from that of other local students from the New District.

He didn’t have that hostile or condescending attitude.

Nor did he act all high and mighty and arrogant.

"Looks like I have the lowest cultivation level in this dorm, huh?"

Wei Nan said with a light laugh.

Because both Wei Shang and Feng Lei were wearing Silver Badges on their chests.

This proved that both of them had already reached the 3-star certification.

Only Wei Nan had a black iron badge.

Among the four of them, he seemed the most helpless...

"Cultivation level is all about talent. To be honest, the Martial Arts exam takers from the New District aren’t necessarily that much stronger than you guys.

The main advantage is just having more cultivation resources than the Old District!"

"If everyone started on the same line, it would all come down to raw talent!"

"I’ve always believed that students who can come to the New District through the Martial Arts examination are not inferior in aptitude or talent to the New District’s students. In fact, they might even be much better!"

"Some of the local Martial Arts exam takers from the New District are always so arrogant in front of Old District students. I can’t stand people like that. What’s there to be so proud of?"

"Go back a few decades, or even a century, and weren’t their ancestors also from the Old District?"

"Why divide people into high and low? Don’t you agree?"

Wei Shang’s words

made Wei Nan and Lin Yi feel like they had finally met a normal person.

From the moment they arrived at the university until now,

everyone they had met along the way was one of those arrogant local students from the New District.

It was just as Wei Shang had said, their noses were practically stuck in the air.

It was rare to find someone as reasonable as Wei Shang.

Wei Nan hurriedly said with a smile, "Man, I’ve finally met a normal person! What you said is spot on!"

"Hahaha... Alright, you guys just got here. There are two rooms left, number 1 and number 4!"

"Feng Lei and I have already picked ours. You two can choose from the remaining two!"

"If you need anything in the future, just come find us!"

"If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask us too!"

After speaking, Wei Shang and Feng Lei returned to their respective rooms to rest.

As for the two remaining rooms, neither Lin Yi nor Wei Nan cared which one they got.

They were all the same. As long as they could sleep in it, it was fine.

In the end, Lin Yi took Room 1, and Wei Nan took Room 4.

The moment he entered the room, Lin Yi eagerly took Xiaoqi out.

The instant Xiaoqi was free again,

it immediately started chirping away. CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP.

Lin Yi smiled at it. "You were getting stuffy, weren’t you? I’ll get you some Demon Beast Meat to eat in a bit!"

Then, Lin Yi took out a package of Demon Beast Meat from his Space Ring.

It had all been pre-cut.

He poured it into Xiaoqi’s dedicated food bowl.

Xiaoqi immediately flew over and started wolfing it down.

While Xiaoqi was eating,

Lin Yi also took out the large gift package from the university from his wristband’s spatial storage.

After opening it, he found that it was indeed filled with daily necessities.

Things like bedding, toiletries, a student handbook, and so on.

Other than these, there was nothing else.

Lin Yi had originally thought there might be a complimentary compound potion from the university.

Even a Grade 1 would have been nice.

Apparently, compound potions weren’t just given away for free.

They could probably only be obtained by completing missions.

The room was fully furnished.

There was a study desk, a chair, and a single-person sofa.

A bed, a wardrobe, and a nightstand.

Inside the bathroom, besides the sink and toilet, the toiletries area was completely empty.

Lin Yi took out the toiletries provided by the university and placed them on the sink counter.

He also hung up the towel.

He hung the clothes he brought from the Old District in the wardrobe.

After he finished getting organized,

the Demon Beast Meat in Xiaoqi’s food bowl was all gone.

There was also a balcony attached to the room.

You could say the dormitory had everything; things you’d expect and things you wouldn’t, it had them all.

Just as Lin Yi was about to take a short rest,

a call came in.

Lin Yi picked up his phone and saw that it was, to his surprise, Tang Qinru’s number.

"Hello? Sis..."
