The Escape of Layla
Lesson 5
After finishing breakfast on my own, I picked out two embroidered handkerchiefs that I finished last night and some braided lace coasters to look good, packed them in small crossbody bags and left the mansion wearing a hat.
When I was at the Duke's house, I used a carriage even for a little outing, but this city doesn't have a carriage in the first place, so I just have to walk. No, the residents have a convenient way of getting around, which is magic, but the only way I was left without magic was on foot.
I'm lucky I don't have a carriage because I have horse kicked trauma. Besides, the magic shop run by the Mansion and Mr. Charlotte is about 15 minutes each way, so it's not that far away. It was just right for the rehab of my weakened body.
The sun is also strong today because it is clear without a cloud. I step inside the city, hoping it would be nice to wear a hat.
Shortly after I came to this city, the clothes borrowed from Mr. Charlotte, but then shortly after, Mr. Leanhardt bought them all for me. Not a luxurious dress like when I was at the Duke's house, but I got a pair of colored pieces tailored for good quality and easy to move, and now I totally love them. The shoes, too, were made of soft leather shoes rather than high heels, so much so that people were impressed with how easy it was to walk.
Vain decorative, serene days. Really, I can't help but have fun every day. I was much more alive than I was when I was educated by Princess Wang.
Open the doors of a blue exterior wall store located in the heart of the city and look out over the secluded interior. The monstrous magic implements piled up so much that I couldn't see the walls even today greeted me.
I've been to this store many times already but I can't wait to like this sense of unreality. Under non-overly bright orange lighting, decorations with eccentric colored decorative strings bracketed like crystals hang from the ceiling. Next to dolls with different eye colors on the left and right, there's a model leaning over like a real raven, and I always feel somewhere dreary. Some places are stacked like very ordinary glassware if that's the case, and I'm not familiar with magic, it sells all the things that I can't really consider for use.
"Leila! Good morning, it would have been hot today"
Charlotte, who apparently came out of the back of the store when she heard the bell at the door, came out with her young daughter. This girl is cute again.
"Yeah, but I've been wearing a hat, so it wasn't a problem"
"That's good. I can make you some tea right now."
"Don't worry"
"Leila, say hello to your sister," Mr. Charlotte told his daughter and gently dropped her off on the floor. Still a short black hair tied in two is adorable enough to be stuffy.
"Good morning, Mr. Grete"
"Leila, hey, Shama!
Mr. Charlotte's only daughter, Mr. Greate Bester, that's already cute. In the dark hair and purple blue eyes conceded by Mr. Charlotte, a small nose shaped to resemble Mr. Charlotte's husband. Childish and puffy cheeks are so comfortable that you want to touch them all day. I originally liked kids, but I haven't had a chance to deal with them before, so I wasn't happy.
"Hehe, Mr. Grete is still a good boy today and he's great"
"Hey Shama, you!
"Yeah, what shall we play with"
When I come to this store, I spend most of my time with Mr. Grete. After lunch, there will be many visitors to the magic shop, and Mr. Charlotte will be busy. So it was customary for me to always deal with Mr. Grete.
Mr. Charlotte always seems sorry, but nothing but a reward for me. Besides, Charlotte's taking care of the meal. I wanted to do anything I could.
"Mmm, come on!
Mr. Grete reaches out his puffy hands and hopes for a hug, but I still couldn't do all this, because I've been asleep for two years and my arm muscles haven't healed properly yet. Even though, I lived a courtesy life where I had never had anything heavy or anything, I feel in case I dropped Mr. Grete.
"No, Grete. Leila, I'm not gonna bother your sister."
When Mr. Charlotte told him to be slightly embarrassed, he put his right hand against Mr. Grete.
Mr. Grete's body rises fluffy as soon as possible. Slowly lifted, it came up to the same height as my stood up face. Mr. Grete has raised his voice properly, but even after a month, he does not think of the unfamiliar sight to zero his bitter laughter. It's not that I don't believe in Mr. Charlotte, but it makes me whimper that it will still fall.
"I made you some tea, it's mint tea today."
"Well, thank you. I like mint tea very much."
I really like that refreshing palate. It's nice here because you can drink whatever you want when you want, although I was just sorry that I wasn't served much at the once royal tea party that I attended as a duke's warrant.
While I care about Mr. Grete sideways, I get to the table set in the back of the store. The smell of fluffiness and tea has developed.
Second, when I felt Mr. Charlotte's gaze and turned back towards her, Mr. Charlotte gave me a merciful grin. The boulder should also be with his brothers and sisters, whose smile closely resembles that of Mr. Leanhardt.
"Leila, you're more alive than you were when you got here. I used to just make fun of what I liked, even when I was asked."
"... Were you?
I wasn't very aware of it myself. What was required of me at the Duke's house was not personality, but because she looked like a perfect warrant lady, or she wasn't used to putting herself out much.
"Yeah, it's much better now."
"Hehe, thanks to Mr. Charlotte and Mr. Grete."
"I want your brother in there."
I had no experience having tea with a woman close to her age until she came here, laughing at me when I dull. I can't believe tea time was such a pleasure. Mr. Charlotte would be older than me, but now he's totally in a friend-like pattern. It was the first time in my life that I had been able to call myself a friend.
"What piece did you bring me today?
"As always, I don't have much..."
I took two embroidered handkerchiefs and a lace coaster from my small bag and handed it to Mr. Charlotte.
"Well! Really, Leila's job is polite. I'm so sorry to put you in a store like this."
"Oh no... I'm just so glad you put it down"
"It's really popular these days. More people are buying presents for women and men these days. The sales are about to come together, so I'll have them ready next time."
"I don't want you to go that far..."
"No, this is what Leila worked so hard to make, right? And for Leila, who was a young lady, this is the first time she's made money for herself, so please take it."
Sure, this is the first time I've ever made money out of my own hands. When Mr. Charlotte tells me that, it kind of comes up from time to time. Though far from living on my own, I was excited to feel like I was cutting and expanding the trigger.
"Thank you, Mr. Charlotte"
"I'm just doing what's natural, never mind"
Unlike me, it's kind of easy to spend time with Mr. Charlotte, who speaks clearly. I still feel sweet about her kindness today.
