The Escape of Layla

Episode 36 (Leanhardt Perspective)

Then I went to see Amelia every day. [M] I'm not sure if I'm getting emotions and doings, but I feel like I've seen Amelia smile more often every time I go to see her.

"I tried to get you some apple pie today. You like apples, don't you?

On the table prepared for the balcony was placed a pie with a fragrant smell. Tea sets with delicate flowers are also available.

"Apple pie? I've heard about it, but I've never eaten it."

"... Lenhardt, have you lived that long and never had apple pie?

Amelia stares at me with a strange look on her face. Such a look is even more beautiful.

"Well, you don't have to eat to die anyway. When I'm hungry, I'm hungry."

If the day went on without eating anything on the boulder for days, it would be ill, but it was still the LeWayne clan that would not die. I've never tried it because I know I won't die and I don't know why I bothered to suffer.

"... if you're going to be your bride, you have to learn to cook."

"I'm glad you think positively."

"Yes, I'm talking to myself now..."

I recently understood that dyeing my cheeks red is apparently illuminated. I don't think our relationship is so bad either.

"Wow, if I can remember to cook, Leannhardt can make delicious tea."

"Tea? Something's different, that."

"No, I'm not! By temperature, by tea leaves!

"Um, I don't really feel like it, but Amelia asked me to, so I'll try my best."

Will Charlotte teach me in that mental state? No, it would still be better to ask my colleagues in the Magic Division.

"Remember this flavor, good luck!

Amelia poured hot tea into the teacup in front of me. Wrapped in a pleasant scent.

Amelia, on the other hand, had thrown three squares of sugar into her own teacup. I don't like the sweetness of sugar originally because of the sight.

"... it doesn't matter what tea tastes like if you put so much sugar in it"

"You don't get it, Leannhardt. The combination of this sweet and aromatic tea is great! Can you get Leannhardt in, too?

"No... to fulfill your favor, I will refrain from remembering the original flavor of tea"

"Hehe, he's not quite healthy. Good luck."

Try to include tea in your mouth, side by side with Amelia stirring tea as you twirl. I did feel that the aroma was more aromatic and the flavour was firmer than I put it in place. This is going to require training.

The first apple pie I would eat in this long life was sweet enough to be about to throw up, but I didn't feel strange and unpleasant because Amelia looked delicious in front of me. Rather, this was the first time I had been able to eat sweet things to the end, and it was a non-exaggerating substitute for what some of me liked when I had few dishes I had eaten in the first place.

"Do you like it?

I laugh softly at Amelia, who shines her pale eyes and sees what's going on.

"Delicious, I like it"

"Yes, that's good!

Amelia seems happy, her cheeks loose naturally. Glad to have returned a positive answer.

Second, they realize I've never felt this way before. Apparently, I'm learning Amelia's emotions. [M]

It was on one winter's day that the strangeness came to me and Amelia's calm days. It's about six months since we met.

"Engagement?"

I thought I heard wrong. I accidentally recite that word out of Amelia's mouth.

"Yes, I couldn't resist. In front of your father."

When I look at Amelia with a face that doesn't float, I feel somewhat refreshed. Besides, it's not funny that Amelia's engaged to another guy.

"The other guy?

He said he was the second prince of the neighboring country.

"Amelia likes that prince?

"I don't know if I've seen him at a ball before. I don't like it or dislike it."

"Well, shall we go a bit to our neighbor and burn the kingdom? That way, it's not about engagement."

"... I wonder if you wouldn't say something noisy with your beautiful face"

Amelia turned to me with a frightened face and packed a long distance.

"Now is the time to rush off."

"... Amelia, will you marry me?

"That's what I'm talking about. Say, come on."

I accidentally held Amelia up. I can't believe this beautiful, fun and kind person is going to be my wife.

"Glad"

Nature and the words were zero. Amelia looks at me with a little surprise and a sweet, mellow grin.

"Hehe, I'm glad too. Take good care of yourself!

When Amelia said that, she mouthed me softly on my cheek.

What the hell is that, too cute?

"... I promise"

I smiled, but accidentally stared at Amelia as she ate in. Couldn't stand it, Amelia turns her cheeks bright red and turns away like never before.

"And anyway! Let's work out a plan for the run down."

Move your hands and feet and let me down on the floor. Reluctantly release Amelia, who complains. I hadn't pulled off the redness on my cheeks, but the fact that I managed to get the usual fortitude was adorable.

"Can't I just take him away now?

"You know, I'm the princess of this country for once. If he goes missing, your father will always be looking for me."

Amelia coughs lightly and reveals her plan.

"First of all, I'm going into a Lewayne monastery. That's where you get to recognize yourself as a nun. In time, Leannhardt picks me up. Lewayne, as a magician in the main house."

"Dignificent?

"Yes, grandiose. Le Wayne worships you all like gods. If you, the sorcerer, show up, no one will refuse to take me."

"... I don't really want to show up on the stage."

"It's okay, it's just for a second. If that happens, your father will give up on me."

I don't really feel like it, but if Amelia wants to, she should do it. By marrying me, Amelia will probably never see her family again.

"... if Amelia says so, shall we"

"Thank you. I'm counting on you, Leannhardt"

I was caught off guard by Amelia's happy grin. The truth is, I should have taken Amelia away even if she was crying at this time.

It was then, only a week later, that I would have such regrets.

On the night of my appointment, as in my meeting with Amelia, I moved next to a Leweyne monastery. Only the moonlight was slightly beautiful even in the snow, it was a quiet night.

"Finally."

Because I'm worried, why does Haino want to be like me? Haino has always been there for me and Amelia. I'm just a friend I've been dating for years, and I'm kind of embarrassed when I'm backed up from the front like that.

"The guy who said, 'I want to die that day if I'm married to someone of my destiny,' is married... People change."

A small, white breath exhales, sideways Haino whining strangely emotionally. Sure, that was my cliché, but I hadn't thought of that since I met Amelia. If it were Amelia, it would be fun to be with you forever. If I could, I wanted to spend a long day with her.

"... I don't want to stand out too much, so I'm gonna end this."

"Do that. It's not a pattern to be worshipped."

Come on, Heino slaps me in the back. The encouragement of this guy, who didn't really know what force was, was painful, but it worked well for me, who was stretching back to show up on the surface stage.

"Well, I'll be there"

"Oh, I'm waiting for you."

I turned my back on Heino and stepped inside the monastery.

At the time of the evening rally, I was supposed to show up and take Amelia away at the right time. The singing hymns of the nuns can be heard leaking from the hall.

Gently look inside through the opening door and look for Amelia. If I wasn't at Mass because of some mistake, I wouldn't have an ex or a kid. All the nuns have a hard time finding silver hair that is Amelia's hallmark because she hides her head in a veil.

"... Amelia?

I'll look over the nuns all the way, but there's no Amelia-like girl. When I stepped out of the hall door wondering why, I smelled bloody. It seemed to drift from the chapel by the hall.

I have a bad feeling. My heart, usually unconscious of what was moving, pulsed. I opened the chapel door so that I could be led straight.

The chapel lit by the blue and white moonlight was mysterious and the pure white interior reminded me of a church in the capital of the illusion king.

Seeing the red scattered like a rose on that floor, I hold my breath for a moment.

... bright red is beautiful, lit by the moonlight.

Maybe I had that swallowing feeling because I didn't want to believe this sight that spreads in front of me. I gently reached for "it" lying on a polished white floor.

Cold. It's like snow.

I don't want to believe it.

This colder person,

Someone spraying blood from around his chest and running out,

I can't believe you're my "destiny man".

"... Amelia?

Read the name of the dreaded Amelia. Closed eyes never open and naturally no reply.

"Amelia?

No, I'm just bleeding a little out of my chest. I'm sure you'll wake up soon. Charlotte is so annoying to stab her all over her body.

"Amelia......"

And yet Amelia doesn't wake up no matter how many times she calls her name. They don't show me those beautiful pale eyes. They won't let me hear that poor voice like the sound of that bell.

"Amelia!

Even her blood stuck to her hands was cold, and I could see that a little bit of despair eroded my heart. It's like my heart was shaped because Amelia was here.

Yeah, who killed Amelia? Someone among the nuns? Are you a royal man? Or to a neighboring prince who says he's his fiancée?

"Amelia......"

Poop, there was zero clear liquid falling off Amelia's cheek. It takes me a few seconds to understand that's my tear.

When I saw the tears that kept pounding and falling zero, I had a much more self-derisive grin.

Amelia, what a terrible thing you do. Tell me about your feelings, and I can't believe you're gone.

This is the first time I've cried.

Is grief such a mind shaping emotion?

I don't need it, I don't need it all. If Amelia isn't here, I don't need anything.

My heart, this kingdom, everything.

"Leanhardt!"

Haino's familiar voice sounds from behind, and his footsteps approach.

"Isn't it too late? It's not until we get to the capital of the Fantasy King."

Heino was stunned when he saw Amelia I could hold. Only a breathing noise for two echoes in the cold out chapel of winter.

Oh, that's crazy. Even though there are certainly three of them here.

"Amelia, princess... why..."

Haino, showing the obvious wolf, was on his knees staring at Amelia. That's the face I said I couldn't believe the reality.

I can't believe it either. No, I won't tolerate this reality rather than.

"... yes, let's do the example magic. That way Amelia will laugh again"

"... Leanhardt?

"Wait, Amelia. I'll open your eyes now."

Put your hands gently on the cold Amelia's forehead. As soon as I remembered it in my heart, the silver light came out zero.

"What an idiot or you!

Heino pushed me away and pulled me away from Amelia. He looks down at me in the shape of a monster.

"What are we going to do with the ban! That would certainly set the body in motion. But I don't want to. It's a doll that only works the way you think!

"... I can't, now I can't believe life without Amelia"

"Is it fun to accompany you with your heartless doll? You're just going to be sick! And... you don't think it's blasphemy against Princess Amelia."

"Blasphemy? Why? Even Amelia should want to be with me. I promised to marry you."

"Lienhardt......"

Haino gave me a bitter look and put his hand on my shoulder. And tell them as if they were telling their children.

"Look, Lienhardt. Princess Amelia is dead. It'll be hard, but take reality. I can't stop you from spreading magic here..."

"... what's wrong with destroying the country that killed Amelia"

"Don't involve the innocent. The time for peace has finally arrived. It could be war again because of you."

"I don't care anymore, that's not... Amelia is... gone."

"Princess Amelia will always be reborn"

Haino told him with perseverance.

"There is no forever. That's why we always meet the Destiny Man. If I wasn't bound to you in this world, Princess Amelia will be bound to you in the next life. Can we destroy the country on which it is founded?

That's a bad way to put it, Heino.

I shuddered in tears at the weight of this helplessly depressed mind. I can't, I don't feel I can stand it without Amelia.

"... I want to die. With Amelia, I want to stay asleep forever"

Heino slapped me on the shoulder in silence. I know you're going to be encouraging me, but I get extra tears.

I know. I just have to accept it.

That there is nothing more to see Amelia again than enduring hundreds of years of loneliness.

"... should we really take Amelia home?

"No. If Princess Amelia goes missing, the ones who murdered Princess Amelia will make another move. Until we find the body, this commotion shouldn't end."

"... I get it."

Heino's right, I guess we should leave Amelia here. I don't feel like I can bring Amelia home without a ban, either.

When I laid Amelia gently in front of the chapel altar, I magically took out a bouquet of white lilies.

Amelia liked white lilies. All the condiments I had for my new life with Amelia had white lily finishes, and I couldn't help but look forward to seeing her delighted face.

And yet you left me.

The days that Amelia and I spent together were only six months in time. From the Lewayne clan, who live too long, it's enough time to say for a moment, but I've had it all for the last six months.

Let Amelia's hand, which closes her eyes to sleep, gently grip a bouquet of white lilies.

- I'm already dead, but I guess I need to be concerned.

Six months ago, that's what I said to Amelia. My words come back to life unexpectedly. I really didn't know anything then. [M] Loving people, mourning people's deaths, nothing.

"... it's beautiful, Amelia. I love you."

I guess I didn't say a word of "like" when Amelia was alive.

The truth is, I should have been able to tell you so much about Amelia that I didn't want to. This wasn't how we ended up.

"Leanhardt, people are coming"

"... yeah, I know"

Whether Mass was over or outside the chapel was full of signs of people. It's only a matter of time before they find us. If we stay here, there will definitely be a lot of noise.

- Goodbye, Amelia.

With the words of parting, activate the metastatic magic. Until that last moment, when my vision was distorted, I burned Amelia's sleeping figure in my eyes.
