The Escape of Layla

Episode 57 (Jessica Perspective)

The moment to wipe the puffy and zero falling tears was really long as a dream. Lady Layla, who was in front of me, softly hugs me as she lowers her neat brow butt like some trouble.

"Jessica......"

Oh, this voice, this poor voice certainly belongs to the lady. There are extra tears in that fact, and I can't say one word.

"Jessica."

That's how the lady calls her name, so I can't stop crying. The warmth of the lady holding me was certainly here, and the scent and the trick were no different from the lady I know.

"... Leila, lady... eh"

"Sorry to surprise you, Jessica"

"Oh... no, ma'am... me, me..."

"You look a little thin...... You must have caused me a lot of concern, I'm sorry, Jessica. Really."

The lady takes her body away from me just a little bit and utters words that make her realize me. I could only shake my head sideways.

"Lady... Lady Layla... me, me..."

I wonder what I should say. My body and voice tremble and I can't pick words well.

"Oh... I don't like it, you're going to cry to me. I decided to laugh today..."

As the words put it, the lady was rushing to look at her own eyeballs with her fingers. She was a young lady who rarely showed tears, but the trick has remained the same since childhood, making me feel nostalgic.

"... sorry to bother you, Jessica"

"No, it's fine... lady... Thus, I could just see you again... I'm already..."

Take out the handkerchief and manage to wipe the tears, breathing just a little. By doing so, I finally felt like I had been properly seen in the lady's face.

"Magic, it's not something like that...? They're alive, aren't they?

More anxiously than I could have imagined, my voice sounded. The lady smiles softly so as to reassure me.

"Hehe, of course he's alive. Jessica raised me. Just like me."

The way you laugh, the way you choose words, it's certainly Lady Leila. No matter how wonderful the magic, it will be impossible to reproduce what Lady Leila I know is.

Lady Leila has been pointing her poor grin at me for a while, but she looks up and speaks to the young man who was watching us.

"Welcome home, Mr. Leanhardt. Thank you for bringing Jessica here."

Lady Layla said so, zeroing a happy smile. When the young man smiles to respond to it too, he strokes Lady Layla's head only once.

"I'm home, Leila. I was a little nervous talking to Jessica."

Just seeing that interaction was enough to realize that these two people loved each other wholeheartedly. Lady Layla accidentally pulled my hand as I watched her unwittingly loosen her cheek.

"I made you some tea. Come on, Jessica, come inside, too."

It's been years since I've been pulled from a lady. The behavior, the words and actions were very similar to those of a young lady when she was just left innocent, and, oh, I realized that there was nothing here to suppress the lady.

"Okay, sweeten your words"

As it was, I was led to a table lined up with tea sets so that Lady Leila could get out of my hand.

"Hey lady, I'll do that. Lady, please don't sit down."

"Oh, Jessica's a customer today. It's Jessica who has to sit down."

With a lively look, the lady had a knife in her freshly made apple pie. Sakuri, it sounds comfortable. Mr. Leenhardt, who prepared tea, watched with a gentle eye.

"Watch out for burns, Leila"

"Hehe, thank you for your concern. But I'm pretty used to it."

"Sounds like it. Much less dangerous than before."

The way the lady was preparing the tea felt strange somewhere after all, and I never got used to watching it forever, but watching the happy Lady Leila and Lady Leenhardt made me almost tear up again.

On the day of the reunion in the corner, it's not good to just cry. I think so, causing the handkerchief to softly suck in tears so that the two of you won't notice. I managed to calm my feelings as I watched the sunflower that Leanhardt had given me.

"Looks like we did pretty well. Look, Jessica. Even though I did - and Mr. Leenhardt's sister helped me - I made the apple pie with you too!

From the beautifully octave apple pie, the hot air is still slightly up. I got annoyed at the look of the lady who brought the plate without even putting the mittens on, but apparently I was able to get it to the table safely.

"That's wonderful, Lady Layla...... You've grown so much in a little while..."

I mean, I say things like a mother, and it just gets a little awkward. I'm glad the lady thought of me as a parent of her heart, too, and I'm going to be in good shape.

"Hehe, I'd love for Jessica to say that."

The lady smiles somewhere shaky and begins to split the apple pie into three take-up dishes. In a hurry I tried to help too, but the lady still stopped me.

"Today, I'm Jessica's maid.... Jessica used to hang out with me like this when I was a kid, right? I still remember."

Looking sincerely delightful, the lady speaks of nostalgic memories. Did the lady remember so well back in the day?

It was a really short period of time for the lady to play like a child. There's no way that wife would allow a lady such freedom. Still, I was struggling to make my daughter laugh during her studies, but gradually even that little time was covered.

I just regretted that I couldn't do anything to the lady, but if this was such a memory that the lady was laughing and nostalgic now, it was really good. I don't mean to be complacent, but maybe the lady admired me so much that she was the parent of her heart because she had accumulated so many short memories.

"Yes, go ahead"

The lady offered me one of the apple pies I cut. The smell of sweet apples comes in. Some parts are burnt everywhere, but they look fragrant and delicious.

"Thank you, ma'am"

"Tea too, Mr. Jessica."

That said, now Master Leanhardt poured me some tea in the teacup in front of me. Maybe I'm pretty good at making tea. It makes me indulge in the elegant fragrance of fluffy, drifting tea.

"I'm afraid, Master Leanhardt"

Soon after, Lady Leila and Lady Leenhardt got to their seats in the form of a pinch across from me, and a small tea party began.

"Oh, it's delicious, Lady Layla!

I accidentally raised my voice so loud that I shared my thoughts. Lady Leila was still laughing with a very calm look, although she seemed to be eager for tea in a perfect work that was no different from where she was at the Duke's house.

"That's good. Mr. Leanhardt's tea is delicious too. I was thrilled when I first drank it."

"It's a big deal, Leila... Don't think it's a good idea to make him expect it before he drinks."

I gently mouth the teacup as I clear my ears to the conversation between you two. I found myself feeling more at ease with the aroma of tea and peppermint spreading across my mouth. Lady Leila is right, it seems that Master Leanhardt is really good at making tea. This flavor is not so easy to serve.

"Really, it's delicious. No tea, no apple pie."

I just wanted to enjoy the taste of a meal these days. There's no reason why the tea you both love isn't delicious. It was the first time in a long time that my mind was going to melt into a feeling of filling and unspeakable happiness.

"... you've really worried about Jessica..."

The lady shrugged like that as she lowered her eyebrow butt, sorry. I wondered why it suddenly became such a topic, but I was convinced to see my tears pounding and falling zero. It's a fun tea party in the corner and I can't apologize for all I've been crying about.

"Eh... excuse me, lady. This is with tears of joy..."

"Hehe, that would be nice...... But I'm late to let you know I'm alive... and I'm so sorry. It's been so long since I've waited for my wounds to heal."

The lady gently held down her right flank and looked spicy for just a moment.

"... Wounds? Did you get hurt?!?

Unexpectedly, it makes my voice louder. Once again, did you have an unfortunate injury?

Or was it hurt by someone's hand, as rumored to be circulating in the King's Capital?

"It's okay because it's already healed. Mr. Leanhardt or something his sister cured me"

The lady immediately brightened her face and said it like it was nothing. Sure, with magic, wounds may be easier to heal, but that doesn't make it a good reason for your daughter to get hurt.

"That's a story, Leila. We just helped the wounds heal, and it was Leila herself who worked so hard."

My heart calms down little by little when I notice Master Leanhardt watching us with a calm look. My lady, I've messed up a lot with them.

"hehe, mr. leanhardt is still good at spoiling me"

As the tea party atmosphere returned to its original soothing, the lady turned slightly to me.

"You've got a lot to tell Jessica. I wonder where to start talking...?

The lady wandered her gaze to get lost somewhere. I guess that means I've had a lot of experience.

"If you want to talk, I want to hear everything. Leila, of your daughter's escape, all of it."

I don't care how much time goes by. Only one adorable lady for me wanted to know what she saw and what experience she had.

"... If that's the case, I'll tell you everything from the beginning.... Not all funny stories, but still?

"Yes, tell me everything"

He said he was injured, and I guess it suited his dangerous eyes. Although it was painful to hear that the lady had had a hard time, she was still winning her desire to share what had happened to her over the past six months.

Lady Leila grinned with a grin and grace, in a poor voice, she began to tell the truth about the Fantastic King's Capital, about Lady Lienhardt, about Lady Rose, about His Royal Highness the King, and about what had happened in the monastery.
