The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess

Chapter 585 - 583: Let Benovia Start Straightening Up

"Gods, may I not go?"

Near the Divine Magic Academy, at Benovia’s Joyful Lodge, Benovia reluctantly put the half-read book into her space ring.

After reaching Tier Four, she was free, but also... lazier.

She still diligently went to school for classes as usual.

But after the third year, generally speaking, the number of students attending classes reduced by a third.

It’s not that this third liked skipping classes or anything; it’s because they all started practical training, and education was no longer confined to school knowledge.

Those who had the resources to train were naturally the students with the best grades; only those who hadn’t reached Tier Two by the third year, or barely made it to Tier Two, were still trudging through classes.

Benovia also used training as an excuse to actually loaf around in the Joyful Lodge.

As a Tier Four Mage, although she hid this from her classmates, her instructors were aware, so they turned a blind eye to her actions.

Originally, she was happily ’skipping class’ and loafing around, when suddenly ’enlightened’, she received a revelation from the Gods.

Rose’s ’divine decree’ directly ordered her to stop loafing and quickly go handle matters near the Southern Border City.

Benovia left the Joyful Lodge, thinking over the command and gift from the Gods as she walked.

When delivering the divine decree, Rose also gave Benovia some knowledge, mainly about separating pollution and life elements, and taught her some life magic in the process.

Benovia had no special elemental affinity; her affinity with all types of elements was the same—not particularly high, but not very low either.

It was just right for learning some life magic.

While observing Ze Lishalin from Hilia’s side, Rose learned of the Holy Court’s deployment through Benovia.

Hilia had no solution for this pollution, and the Law Enforcement Knight Order led by Melina naturally couldn’t handle these life-magic-infused powers either.

The unstoppable pollution waves would sweep over Star Ash Town, spreading toward Southern Border City.

However, the disaster at Star Ash Town was secondary; Rose mainly considered that this pollution would enter the Star Spirit Forbidden Land, merge with the pollution inside, forming a larger pollution wave, which might eventually engulf the entire Starfall Continent.

Hilia was entangled with the Recovery Temple matters, unable to fight back, and as she couldn’t learn life magic, relying on magic puppets wouldn’t work in a short time. Thus, Rose issued a ’divine decree’ to Benovia, using the lost knowledge of life magic to guide her to resolve the pollution sweep problem at the Star Spirit Forbidden Land.

"These life magics are not found in any magic book. Hmm... if I had more energy, I’d want to learn them all."

Benovia muttered to herself.

After sorting everything out, she used the Holy Winged Unicorn to reach the directional teleporter in Huijin City, where she gained free access through the Holy Master’s authorization, and teleported to Southern Border City.

Her arrival went unnoticed by anyone except Melina, so there was no one there to greet her as there had been for Melina.

Benovia didn’t mind.

After arriving, she quickly left Southern Border City, took out a personal aircraft, and reached the border camp under Melina’s construction by nightfall.

Benovia looked at the Elf Territory beyond the border, noticing that the elven warriors stationed there were constantly watching with nervous expressions.

A Tier Four commander was using magic amplification to call out to the elf warriors, stating they had no ill intentions and wouldn’t invade the Elf Race’s territory without reason, and were only deploying so many people to solve problems the Elf Race couldn’t handle themselves.

Although not explicitly stated, the underlying tone was full of mockery towards the Elf Race’s incompetence, unable to even solve the pollution issue.

Benovia listened silently for a moment, thinking of the Gods’ words, and couldn’t help but think: "If I hadn’t come, the one to be embarrassed afterward would probably be the Law Enforcement Knight Order."

Rose told her that before separating the life elements, the special purification skill couldn’t purify the pollution.

This meant that even though Melina and her team were brimming with confidence, ready to tackle the problem, they’d ultimately find themselves retreating in defeat, using the city as a base to defend against the pollution.

Benovia had a bizarre look on her face, with a strange thought emerging—

Could it be that Rose had her come here just to prevent the Holy Court’s Law Enforcement Knight Order from being embarrassed?

Although it seemed unlikely, the coincidence was undeniable.

Benovia’s imagination ran wild, starting to doubt the reality of the Pantheon.

Why was the God, deemed an Evil God by the Holy Court, now protecting the Holy Court so much?

Why, apart from that God, did no other Gods show signs of miraculous appearance?

Why did Rose only target the Holy Daughter, and why did the Holy Court classify their own God as an Evil God?

Why...?

Feeling the surge of questions from Benovia, surpassing even the pollution, Rose was quite speechless.

Fortuitously, after successfully forming a faith-based connection with Benovia, he didn’t interact with her as casually as he did in front of Hilia, maintaining his divine mystique; otherwise, he might be overwhelmed by her questions to the point of cutting the connection.

Thankfully, Hilia, lacking curiosity, could grasp intentions with a hint, and would quiet down after asking a maximum of a few questions.

As they say, without comparison, there is no frustration. Rose was keeping an eye on Benovia’s situation, but merely observing, not letting her sense his attention.

As for the questions Benovia pondered, they were somewhat trivial.

When the pollution spread to the Ista Empire’s borders, it meant the pollution wave had entered the Star Spirit Forbidden Land.

Rose needed to find an excuse for Benovia to quickly support the Star Spirit Forbidden Land.

She was currently in her ’training’ period, even if her ’training’ was mostly spent idling at the Joyful Lodge, but it was a legitimate reason to leave nonetheless.

Applying to the school and the Holy Court to help the Law Enforcement Knight Order in cleaning up the pollution task at the frontlines would be an excellent training opportunity.

Then, during the course of this training, ’accidentally’ discovering that the pollution was affecting the Star Spirit Forbidden Land, and stepping in to resolve the anomaly, would double the training’s value, comparable to the siege on the Deep Sea Mutual Aid Association—the Star Spirit Forbidden Land had always been a critical area for major empires, as the rise and fall of the Star Spirit Tree to some extent represented the rise and fall of the magic system.

Solving the anomaly at the Star Spirit Forbidden Land could greatly enhance Benovia’s evaluation in the Holy Daughter selection, putting pressure on Hilia.

As Hilia accomplished more, the other Holy Daughter candidates gradually slackened off, with Benovia being the most laid back.

As a God, Rose decided to tackle this slackening trend.

Starting with Benovia.
