Chapter 406 - 404: Holy Daughter Assembly Line
A few days later.
Melina reconvened all the knights of the Law Enforcement Knight Order and all the student groups.
Standing beside her was Mr. Blake, the principal of the Divine Magic Academy.
The two looked at all the students below them, their expressions stern.
Melina said, "Over the past few days, we have cleared some heretic strongholds on the outskirts, and discovered an evil sacrificial altar underground at their base. This mysterious altar sacrifices the souls of all heretics in the stronghold and applies them to the sacrificial offerings, giving them the combat power of a high-tier mage."
"This wicked ritual put us in a predicament during our first expedition, but —"
"We have now found the means to restrain it. Next, we will embark on another expedition and resolve them in one fell swoop!"
Many Law Enforcement Knights raised their weapons, "Glory belongs to the Holy Court!"
Alongside, numerous students without any slogans looked enviously at all this, and some students, influenced by them, also raised their weapons: "Glory belongs to the Holy Court!"
Melina gestured downward, "Alright, next I will distribute scrolls that restrain heresy to each team. Keep them safe and use them during battle.
"Remember, each scroll lasts for 10 minutes. The quantity is limited, so do not use them unless it’s urgent."
Logistics of the Law Enforcement Knight Order began distributing scrolls to all the Law Enforcement Knights, 10 for each small team.
The student groups here had more, each team receiving 20 scrolls.
In total, there were several hundred scrolls.
The group led by Alina also received 20 scrolls. Leica, who assumed the role of team representative, stepped forward to collect the scrolls, and looked around in curiosity, asking, "Instructor, where are Hilia and the others?"
Alina said, "They’re resting and won’t be participating in this action."
The other students glanced at each other, and Leica asked in confusion, "Why aren’t they participating? Without them, we wouldn’t be able to deal with the stronghold at all."
Alina glanced at him and said, "Do you guess where these scrolls came from?"
Leica shook his head, "No idea."
One student exclaimed softly, "Could it be that these scrolls were made by Hilia and the others?"
Alina didn’t answer but nodded slightly, "Alright, aside from me, there will be another instructor following this action. You don’t need to worry about your safety."
"Yes, this time two teams will act together." Another instructor came over, leading his team.
Leica suddenly realized, "Oh, two teams in joint action. If that’s the case, then our safety index has increased significantly."
That instructor said, "The safety index has increased, but we must not become complacent. We can’t be sure if the Deep Sea Mutual Aid Association has other secret weapons aside from this."
All the students nodded in agreement.
In previous actions, they were somewhat arrogant and careless, especially after knowing they were 25 tier three mages fighting against at most 10 tier three mages within the heretic base.
Even with environmental factors, everyone thought, fighting heretics would be a piece of cake.
But reality struck them with a heavy blow.
Apart from the team led by Alina, all other teams were defeated miserably, with casualties, and it took the priests from the Divine Hall several days of psychological counseling to help them recover from the shadows.
Despite this, quite a few students chose to withdraw.
The fear of seeing their teammates die in front of them made them scared to continue.
Blake didn’t force them to continue, agreeing to their withdrawal, allowing them to return to Letes City and decide afterward whether to go home to recuperate or to explore the ruins.
The number of students reduced significantly, but those who remained were excellent students, likely to be future core members of the Holy Court.
Alina said, "Alright, it’s time to set off."
Leica looked back at the camp, displaying a look of regret.
"If only Hilia and the others were here."
And now, what was Hilia doing?
Resting in bed.
"Phew, I’m exhausted. Knowing this, I wouldn’t have agreed to draw so many wind domain combination techniques for Ms. Melina and Mr. Blake."
The other girls were in no better shape than Hilia.
Benovia and Phil were sitting in bed meditating; Doris and Encore were lying flat.
Hundreds of tier three combination technique scrolls, it wasn’t possible for Hilia alone to make them.
So, once the feasibility was confirmed, she pulled the rest of them to help use their deep magic power to either prepare materials or draw together.
The drawing of scrolls is time-constrained but not required to be completed in one stroke. It’s divided into several structures: four magic combinations, elemental harmonization, wind domain, divine dispel, and shadow binding, each composed of four parts.
To increase efficiency, Hilia asked Phil and Benovia to help draw simpler parts, while Doris and Encore helped harmonize materials and prepare ink.
She was responsible for taking Phil and Benovia’s semi-finished works and completing the complex parts.
Since it was an order from the Holy Court, Melina was quite generous, directly sending a large amount of Heart of Gold to increase their success rate.
Although Benovia and Phil were not proficient in scroll production, they were able to imitate and draw the simpler parts.
Of course, their speed was still not as fast as Hilia’s.
Once proficient, her speed and success rate skyrocketed, fully showcasing her talent.
She not only easily accepted the scrolls from Benovia and Phil but even took the time to draw one independently.
Encore, having dealt with potions for years, found preparing scroll ink effortless. The ink she prepared was even higher in quality than what Hilia made, greatly enhancing the success rate.
The five of them worked like a production line, putting in extra effort to complete the scrolls Melina needed within a few short days.
The price, however, was after completion, everyone was mentally exhausted, unable to join the team to besiege the heretic stronghold.
In response, Blake generously allowed them to rest for several days and would record the scroll production as part of their trial score.
As principal, he had this authority.
If the scrolls greatly aided the team and could cooperate with the Purification Skill to weaken the heretics’ combat power and reduce the impact of ’offerings’, then for them, this would be an immeasurable contribution, far outweighing the effects of besieging a heretic stronghold.
Upon hearing the bustling sound outside, Doris jumped up, rushed to the window to look down, and saw everyone preparing to depart, couldn’t help clicking her tongue.
"What a pity, this time we can’t act together."
Hilia waved her hand, "What’s so great about fighting heretic strongholds, let them deal with it."
I’ve fought these things till I’m sick, don’t want to touch them at all.
"After recovering, it’s better to visit Letes City than attack heretics."
