Chapter 444: A Thousandfold Repayment

"Wait, Master, Master!"

Firomina mistakenly thought Ashina was abandoning their lord. She frantically waved her hands, tears welling up in her eyes, but Ashina still dragged her along.

"He actually sent his pets away first. How interesting. But do you really think they can escape?"

Dark Curse snorted coldly and shot forward like a ghost, charging into the forest.

"Don’t go!"

Phield reached out anxiously.

"Hahaha, Phield, how does it feel? Are you feeling despair yet? Desperate expressions are my favorite. They’re absolutely wonderful."

Phield resolutely drew his sword. If he wanted to distance himself from them, he had to keep up the act.

"Don’t get so cocky. I’ll fight to the very end."

"You’re actually not running? Not bad at all. I never expected there to be an oddball like you among the nobles."

Brinda forced herself to stay alert.

"What can you possibly do to me? You’re all going to die."

Biskaly laughed triumphantly.

Yet the next moment, her smile froze on her face.

A black figure suddenly shot out of the forest with a deafening boom. The tremendous impact distorted the air around it.

Dark Curse smashed through several trees as thick as a person’s waist before finally crashing into a massive moss-covered boulder.

"Urgh!"

Dark Curse vomited a large mouthful of blood.

"What? What was that?!"

Biskaly and Brinda froze simultaneously, completely unable to process what had just happened.

"We’re here to reinforce you, sisters of Night Owl."

Ashina and Firomina emerged slowly from the forest wearing black cloaks, looking like a pair of sinister mages.

With every step they took, overwhelming divine power surged through the surroundings, causing the trees to sway despite the absence of wind.

As one of the people most fond of raiding in Nightfall Domain, Ashina always kept black cloaks in her satchel.

"Another... Night Owl? No way!"

Biskaly was completely dumbfounded.

"Didn’t they say there were only two? How is Simon’s intelligence network this useless?"

Ashina summoned her spear, with six blue frost lances floating protectively around her. She gave the spear a stylish flourish.

"Hmph. I’m Elin of Night Owl. You crazy woman actually dared to mess with my lord... Ahem, I mean, you dared to mess with our organization. You’re asking for death."

The fact that she could launch ranged attacks proved that she was definitely Elin.

Firomina, meanwhile, switched to Sunlight Patterns. She irritably tugged at her hood, clearly uncomfortable with the whole disguise.

"Wolf pup, there’s no need for all this nonsense. Just kill them all."

Terrifying destructive divine power rippled outward.

"Ahem."

Ashina nudged Sunlight Patterns with her elbow.

"Say your line. Quickly."

They had to pin everything on Night Owl. Their opponents were people serving directly under the Empress, and if anyone witnessed their true identities, the consequences would be serious.

"Boring..."

Firomina gritted her teeth.

"I’m Hwaily."

The fact that she could float proved she was definitely Hwaily.

"Uh..."

Brinda looked utterly bewildered and scratched her head.

"I remember. They weren’t like this before."

"Whatever. They’re just two useless weaklings."

Biskaly recovered from her confusion.

"Dark Curse, how could you be so careless? You actually got ambushed. I’ve seen their profiles. They’re both weaklings, but apparently they can fight."

"Hwaily is extremely weak. She can transform into a pigeon. Elin, on the other hand, uses... a crossbow?"

"Who said they’re weak? They’re terrifying. Watch out!"

Dark Curse’s pupils shook violently.

After she rushed into the forest, the two fleeing maids had somehow vanished without a trace.

Before she could even react, the spear-wielding Divine Chosen struck her and sent her flying. Her divine power barrier instantly shattered by thirty percent.

Before the warning had even finished, Ashina pushed off the ground and charged forward.

"While you still have the strength, you’d better start crying now!"

A series of explosive booms erupted through the air as Ashina swept forward, carrying a storm of wind and snow with her. The divine power of winter instantly transformed the surrounding area into a frozen domain.

"Stop pretending to be so intimidating. Who are you trying to scare? I’m one of the Empress’s Imperial Guards!"

Biskaly showed no fear whatsoever. Gathering tremendous force, she raised her massive battle axe and charged straight at Ashina.

But the instant their weapons collided, she regretted it.

The overwhelming force nearly crushed both her arms.

A violent metallic explosion rang out, making Phield’s ears buzz.

He hurriedly retreated more than a dozen steps, ducked behind a rock, and cautiously poked his head out to watch the battle.

"Splurt!"

Biskaly’s slender arms could not withstand the terrifying recoil. Her blood vessels ruptured, sending three or four streams of blood spraying into the air.

"Damn it. They’re still human arms. Even after being reinforced by the Doctor’s divine artifact, they can’t withstand a clash between divine artifacts."

Biskaly’s mind descended into chaos.

Back then, Rosalia had shattered both of her arms. In order to regain the use of her hands, Biskaly had killed countless women.

Eventually, she managed to find a pair of arms that could barely adapt to her body, and had a Divine Chosen sew them onto her.

"You worthless piece of trash. How dare you run your mouth? Get on your knees and apologize."

Biskaly had repeatedly insulted her lord, and Ashina had finally had enough.

Gripping her spear, she launched a savage barrage of attacks.

In less than ten exchanges, the flesh on Biskaly’s arms had been reduced to a bloody mess, and she was on the verge of a mental breakdown.

"Die! Tier Three Divine Art, Death Slash!"

Dark Curse suddenly appeared behind Ashina. Her long blade was wrapped in thick black energy. A direct hit would undoubtedly inflict devastating damage.

"If you like cutting in line so much, I’ll send you on your way first. Aegis Spear of Frostpierce."

Ashina’s ears twitched.

She immediately dodged aside as six frost lances began darting through the air, leaving behind a continuous blur of spear shadows.

Dark Curse was suspended in midair with nowhere to gain leverage.

"Pfft! Pfft!"

Two frost lances pierced straight through her thigh and abdomen.

"What incredible reaction speed! Divine Artifact, Dissociation!"

Dark Curse was horrified.

She was so furious at Biskaly that she could have torn her apart.

They had been perfectly positioned to surround Night Owl, yet her useless ally had insisted on causing trouble. Now Dark Curse herself had been forced into a desperate situation.

Ashina sneered.

"I thought the Empress’s Imperial Guards would at least give me a pleasant surprise. Explode!"

The frost lances, compressed to their absolute limit, instantly detonated.

Countless shards of ice erupted outward, leaving the surrounding forest in ruins.

Even after using Dissociation, Dark Curse still had the lower half of her body blown apart. She vomited blood as she was sent flying backward, completely incapable of fighting back.

"I’ll leave her to you, Hwaily."

"There’s no fun in defeating prey I didn’t kill myself."

Firomina sighed.

A trace of hesitation flickered across her brilliant eyes before she casually waved her hand with an arrogant expression.

"I’ll repay you a thousandfold next time."

Before Dark Curse could beg for mercy, Firomina’s divine power surged.

With a casual wave of her hand, she erased Dark Curse.

Thanks to her unique ability to destroy Divine Chosen, the Nirvana Seed instantly drained Dark Curse’s divine power and fed it back to Firomina.

"What kind of monstrous strength is this? Who the hell are you?!"

Biskaly’s eyes were wide with disbelief.

She could hardly accept what had just happened. They had been defeated so completely that it was almost impossible to comprehend.

Shock and frustration pushed her to the verge of collapse.

The little lion Brinda was equally horrified.

"They’re really that strong?"

Without hesitation, Biskaly turned around and fled while shouting loudly for reinforcements.

"What happened to all that arrogance from earlier?"

Ashina grinned.
