Chapter 119 - wilderness survival 2

Luna and I walked through the forest together, our swords already drawn as we carefully observed our surroundings.

Elara followed behind us, occasionally looking between the two of us as we walked ahead.

Before long, my perception detected several familiar presences.

I stopped.

A pack of wolves emerged from between the trees.

My eyes immediately lit up.

I looked toward Luna.

"You take four."

"I’ll take four."

Then I looked toward Elara.

"You take the remaining three."

"But remember..."

"If you need help, back down and join someone else."

"And make sure the person you’re helping is in good condition before you engage."

"If you can’t handle them..."

"Just avoid the wolves and wait for an opportunity."

Luna and Elara both nodded.

"Got it."

"Understood."

A grin appeared on my face.

"Then let’s begin."

I tightened my grip around Eclipse.

Using Gravity, I reduced my weight and pushed myself forward.

Whoosh!

I shot toward the nearest wolf.

It barely had time to react.

Slash!

Eclipse passed through its neck, cleanly beheading it.

I immediately moved toward the next target.

Meanwhile, Luna coated the legs of several wolves in ice, freezing them in place before moving in to attack.

Her movements were fast and precise.

Elara fought differently.

She created blades of water and used them to cut through the wolves while manipulating the surrounding water to slow their movements.

As for me...

I was having fun.

I moved from one wolf to another without giving them any opportunity to regroup.

I coated Eclipse with Ice Mana and swung at another wolf.

Slash!

The blade cut through its body, leaving a layer of frost across the wound.

The wolf collapsed.

I didn’t even stop.

I immediately moved toward another target.

Darkness spread from my hand.

"Dark Bind."

Dark chains shot forward and wrapped around the wolf.

It struggled desperately.

I appeared beside it.

Slash!

Its head fell to the ground.

Only two wolves remained in my group.

I used Void Step to close the distance between us.

However, the wolves reacted faster than I expected.

One managed to block my attack while the other suddenly pounced toward me.

My Perception immediately warned me of the attack.

I took several steps backward.

Then I raised my hand.

"Dark Bullet."

Whoosh!

The projectile pierced directly through the wolf’s head.

It dropped instantly.

I turned toward the final wolf.

The moment it saw the fate of the others, it immediately turned around and ran.

I simply watched it disappear into the forest.

There was nothing particularly valuable about it.

There was no reason to waste my time chasing it.

I turned toward my teammates.

Luna had already defeated half of her assigned wolves.

Elara was finishing her final target as well.

A moment later—

Splash!

Her final attack struck the wolf, killing it.

She looked toward the bodies and suddenly asked,

"How about we cut them up and take the meat?"

"We could eat it later."

I looked at her strangely.

Then I thought about it.

Maybe she really was someone who wanted to experience wilderness survival properly.

I nodded.

"Sure."

Elara immediately began preparing the meat.

Meanwhile, I collected the mana cores and stored them inside my Space Storage.

Who would refuse free money?

Luna tried to do the same.

But then she suddenly stopped.

She looked at her hand.

Her Space Ring was gone.

She looked around in confusion.

I stared at her.

"You didn’t even realize that old man stole your ring?"

Luna’s eyes widened.

"What?"

"Who?"

"Why didn’t you tell me?!"

She glared at me.

I simply shrugged.

"Our instructor."

"I think he took it as part of the test."

Luna’s eye twitched.

"You..."

Before she could continue, Elara returned with the prepared meat.

"Oh, you didn’t notice?"

"I didn’t either at first."

"But I checked my belongings and couldn’t find mine."

"So I figured he had taken them."

She paused.

"That’s why I decided to get some meat from the wolves."

I looked at her.

"Oh..."

"I thought you wanted to experience wilderness survival."

"If you’d told me earlier, I could’ve given you some food."

I reached into my Space Storage and began taking out various supplies.

Food.

Drinks.

Snacks.

Cooking ingredients.

Elara’s eye twitched.

She stared at the pile.

Then she started at her own hand who have pity full amount of meat.

Then she stared at me.

Her eyes twitch hard.

"How..."

"How do you have all of that?"

I shrugged.

"Because I don’t have a Space Ring."

"I have Space Storage."

"I created it using my Space Affinity."

Her eyes widened.

Then realization slowly appeared on her face.

She looked down at the raw wolf meat in her hands.

Then she looked at the mountain of food sitting beside me.

Her expression slowly collapsed.

Without even thinking, she muttered,

"Why am I even doing this?"

Luna immediately covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.

I looked at Elara with genuine confusion.

"Didn’t you want to experience wilderness survival?"

Elara’s eye twitched.

"What wilderness survival?"

"I didn’t know we already had food!"

I innocently raised my hands.

"Oh..."

"I thought you wanted to experience the wild life."

Luna walked over and placed a hand on Elara’s shoulder.

"Don’t mind this idiot."

"He’s always like this."

I immediately protested.

"Hey!"

"Who are you calling an idiot?"

"I have A+ Intelligence, you know."

I proudly puffed out my chest.

Luna looked at me for a moment.

Then she burst out laughing.

She pointed at me.

"See?"

"He’s an idiot."

Elara couldn’t hold back her laughter either.

I stared at the two of them in disbelief.

"..."

"Why is everyone against me?"

Eventually, we stored the wolf meat.

Then I shared some of my food and juice with Luna and Elara.

Before long...

Our supposed wilderness survival training had turned into a picnic.

If our instructor saw us now...

He would probably spit blood.

Unfortunately for us—

He did see us.

From a distance, the instructor stared at the scene.

His jaw practically dropped.

Three participants were supposed to be surviving in the wilderness.

Instead...

They were sitting together, eating food and drinking juice as if they were enjoying a vacation.

The instructor could only stare in silence.

He couldn’t interfere unless they were in danger.

So he simply sighed and turned his attention toward the other participants.

Meanwhile, we continued exploring the forest.

Eventually, my Perception detected a much larger group of monsters.

I stopped walking.

Luna and Elara immediately noticed.

"What is it?"

I looked ahead.

"Orcs."

"And..."

"One Orc Lord."

We carefully moved closer and observed the monsters from a distance.

There were several ordinary orcs surrounding a much larger one.

I narrowed my eyes.

"This fight..."

"We can’t handle it alone."

"We should combine our strength and clear the monsters together."

Luna nodded immediately.

Elara also nodded.

"Agreed."

We quickly discussed our strategy.

Elara would draw their attention.

Luna and I would attack from range.

Once the weaker orcs were eliminated, we’d focus on the Orc Lord together.

Without wasting any more time, we moved into position.

Elara stepped forward first.

She formed a Water Spear in her hand.

Then—

Whoosh!

She launched it toward the orcs.

The attack struck near them, immediately drawing their attention.

"Now!"

I raised my hand.

Ice Mana gathered around my fingers.

Then I infused it with Space.

An Ice Spear formed.

At the same time, Luna created several Light Spears.

We fired simultaneously.

Whoosh!

My Ice Spear shot forward at incredible speed.

The Orc Lord barely had time to react.

The spear struck directly into its head.

Boom!

The impact sent it staggering backward.

The spear continued through the first target before striking another orc in the arm.

The creature screamed.

Luna’s Light Spears followed immediately.

Several of the ordinary orcs were struck and injured.

We didn’t give them time to recover.

Luna and I rushed forward.

The orcs charged toward us.

Elara remained behind us, controlling the battlefield with her Water Magic.

She used the remaining water from her earlier attack to spread conductive moisture across the ground.

Then—

Lightning surged through it.

The orcs convulsed from the shock.

"Now!"

Luna coated her sword in Light Mana and rushed forward.

Her blade struck several vital points with frightening precision.

I used Gravity to increase my acceleration.

Void Step carried me between the injured orcs.

One after another—

Slash.

Slash.

Slash.

I finished them off before they could recover.

We didn’t fight recklessly.

Instead, we worked together.

Each of us focused on a target.

Whenever one of us created an opening...

The other two immediately supported them.

If Luna injured an orc, I finished it.

If I created an opening, Elara exploited it.

If Elara restrained one, Luna struck its vital point.

Our coordination gradually became smoother.

The ordinary orcs began falling one after another.

Soon...

Only the Orc Lord remained.

I tightened my grip around Eclipse.

Luna stepped beside me.

Elara took position behind us.

We looked at the massive monster together.

The real battle was about to begin.
