Chapter 200 - foolish luna
Ever the gullible fool she was, she jumped with her wings spread behind her.
Watching her from behind, I wondered, How is she still alive with ideas like these?
Must be a privilege of being a princess.
With high expectations, she jumped and tried to fly.
I watched as her expectations crumbled before her eyes. She began to fall with her beautiful wings spread behind her.
I could only sigh as I stopped the shadow guards and pushed myself forward using Space and Abyssal Energy. I used every enhancement I could think of as I appeared beside her and caught her.
We were both in the sky as I used my perception to locate a safe place. I immediately teleported there with her.
Then I looked at Luna, who was in my arms, expecting to see something close to regret or fear.
But the sight before me left me dumbfounded.
She was smiling from ear to ear, her eyes gleaming like two blue gems filled with excitement.
"Wow, that was fun! I want to try again."
I really fell into the snow this time, my eyes twitching violently.
"You... almost got yourself killed, and your first thought afterward isn’t fear but excitement?"
She blinked innocently and looked at me with her big eyes. "Isn’t that the same thing you do?"
I was speechless. I had nothing to say to that.
I simply gave her a chop on the head and said, "Absolutely not! You can’t do that again."
Her eyes widened as she looked at me. "You... aren’t my guardian, so I can do whatever I want. Humph!"
I ignored her protests and dragged her away.
"Not happening. And for your information, I am your guardian. Your mom gave me that role."
She looked at me with wide eyes. "Hey, you’re the same age as me, so you can’t be my guardian! Now let me do it!"
I shook my head. "Not happening."
She puffed up her cheeks like a pufferfish and remained silent.
I just laughed internally as I dragged her away from danger. She was like a danger magnet. Normally, Amy had to convince me to stay safe, but now I had to convince Luna to do the same.
I sighed internally as we climbed down the mountain.
Luna was still puffing out her cheeks and ignoring me. It was an amusing sight to watch.
Then I got an idea to make Luna happy.
"How about I let you jump short distances while we climb down?"
Her puffed-up face immediately lit up as she looked at me.
"Really...?"
I nodded as I touched her and made her as light as possible, leaving only enough weight for her to fall.
Then I said, "Okay, find a safe spot, and we can float down. We don’t need to walk."
She nodded with a bright smile.
"Yee!"
She looked down and spotted several places she could jump to. She immediately chose one and flew away as I followed closely behind.
As we were falling, Luna spotted a dungeon entrance. She tried to stop herself in midair, creating a platform of light to stabilize herself.
I saw that and moved beside her, using space itself to create a foothold for me to stand on.
I looked at her. "What’s the problem?"
She pointed toward the dungeon entrance and a person standing nearby.
"Look! It seems Lily and her master are at the dungeon. How about we go and take a look?"
I looked over as well and said, "Hmm, let’s go. Give me your hand."
She nodded without hesitation and placed her hand in mine.
I teleported us beside Lily’s master. As soon as we appeared, her eyes turned toward us.
I nodded internally.
Good perception, as expected of her.
Her eyes widened a little.
"Huh? Stinky brat, what are you doing here?"
My eyes twitched as I said, "We climbed that mountain and saw an old woman standing in front of a dungeon, so we came to take a look."
This time, her mouth twitched.
Luna laughed beside us. "You two are like water and fire."
I just shrugged and asked, "Hey, old woman, what are you doing here? Is this the dungeon you told us about?"
She raised a hand to give me a good beating, but then she remembered my mother and withdrew it.
"You stinky brat! If it weren’t for your mother, Seraphina Starlight, I’d know exactly what to do with you!"
Luna laughed as she watched the whole scene.
Then Lily came over to us as well.
"Hmm, it’s good to see you again. What did you two do on the mountain?"
Luna’s eyes shone as she began explaining the whole process.
Lily’s eyes showed how much she longed for that kind of experience as she looked at Luna.
I added from the side, "This mental case almost—no, not almost. She jumped off the mountain!"
Lily’s mouth hung open.
"Really?"
I nodded and said, "Yeah, I had to go after her and drag her back down the mountain."
Luna glared at me, so I shut up.
Then the mage woman came over to us and said, "Okay, it’s time for the dungeon."
Lily nodded and went to her master’s side.
I looked at Luna. "What do you want to do? Go to a city, or...?"
Luna thought for a moment before saying, "How about we take a look at this too?"
I nodded and followed her.
Luna asked, "Hey, what kind of dungeon is this?"
The mage woman answered, "It’s a D-Rank dungeon. It’s a little difficult to clear alone, so I have to supervise her."
Luna’s interest diminished a little. She didn’t see any danger for herself in there. It was like bullying the weak.
She said to me, "Huh? It’s only D-Rank. There’s no challenge for us, Gray. Let’s go. It’s going to be boring."
The mage woman’s eyes twitched.
"What do you mean there’s no danger? It’s a freaking D-Rank dungeon!"
I laughed beside Luna. "D-Rank monsters pose no threat to us. We could kill even a thousand of them without getting injured. As for C-Rank monsters, there are a lot of them, but dealing with one or two is easy."
Her eyes twitched again, while Lily’s eyes lit up.
"Really? Can you help me? My master keeps trying to push me into this hellhole."
Lily’s master looked at her as if betrayed.
"Hey, I’m doing this for your own good! What if that Sword Saint guy makes his disciple stronger than you?"
"You know we don’t have a good relationship. Both that master and disciple are womanizers. You need the power to protect yourself."
I looked at her with amusement.
Hmm, this woman has a nemesis. Interesting.
As the conversation continued, I remembered the old man’s ghost sister, Isabella, whom we had encountered before.
Luna was listening to the conversation as well and asked, "Ah, the Sword Saint? Is he some kind of powerhouse?"
The mage woman looked at me and nodded.
"Yeah, he practices swordsmanship and has achieved many things, so he’s considered a powerhouse in the kingdom."
"But that guy is a womanizing pervert, and his new disciple is the same. That guy’s disciple has been going after Lily."
When Lily heard that, her face showed genuine disgust.
I nodded as I listened.
Then the mage woman added, "As for that guy, he comes after me."
I almost spat at that.
"Huh? You? That guy goes after an old woman like you?"
"There must be something wrong with him."
A black line appeared on her forehead.
In reality, she wasn’t an old woman at all. She looked to be around thirty to forty years old.
Lily laughed from the side.
Before the mage woman could say anything, I added, "Okay, okay, we understand that this person comes after you. Now, can you tell us how this dungeon works?"
She was in absolute disbelief at how I managed to make her furious with such a small number of words.
Lily stepped forward and said, "It’s a dungeon where the exit can lead to a different location."
That caught Luna’s attention.
"Oh, really?"
Then she looked at me and said, "How about we go in?"
I just shrugged. "Anything you want. I don’t have any particular plans, so anywhere is fine as long as you’re safe."
She nodded with a smile and gave her answer.
"Okay, we’re coming to clear this dungeon!"
"I’ve had enough fun in the snow for now. If I want to, I can come back again."
Lily’s eyes lit up when she heard Luna’s answer, so she looked at her master expectantly.
Her master simply nodded, though she continued glaring at me.
With the approval of her master she happily went to the dungeon with luna.
As for me i pretended not to notice that women glare and followed Luna and Lily into the dungeon.
We entered to the dungeon as i felt the feline that i got when i entered to my first dungeon.
