Chapter 2732: Forced to Accept It, Since We Can’t Afford to Offend Him
"This matter is of great importance. Even though I’m the Saint Heir, I still can’t make this decision on my own; I have to report to the Sect Hierarch!"
Carson Flores smiled faintly. "Totally understandable!"
Lorvian Randall thought for a moment and said, "How about you come back to the sect with me, I’ll take you straight to see the Sect Hierarch?"
"Sure!"
All the groundwork that needed to be laid was already in place, plus there was the Soulmirror Stone left by True Sage Grand Void as backing. Carson Flores believed that was enough to suppress any wild ideas the Sea God Sect might have, so he, Niall Sinclair, and Shirley Miller followed Lorvian Randall back to the Sea God Sect, of course hiding their true faces and concealing their identities.
Lorvian Randall might not have any schemes, but that didn’t mean the rest of the Sea God Sect disciples didn’t. If someone recognized Carson Flores and found a way to inform on him to the Myriad Immortals Palace, wouldn’t that be a huge problem?
Sea God Sect, the seclusion grounds of Sect Hierarch Halvyr Briggs.
Halvyr Briggs looked at Carson Flores standing before him, then at the Sea God’s Seal floating in front of Shirley Miller, his gaze complicated.
Naturally, he wanted to reclaim the Sea God’s Seal. Though he quite appreciated Carson Flores, for the sake of his own strength, he wouldn’t mind personally wiping Carson Flores out in the slightest, but he didn’t dare gamble.
Wasn’t the previous Sea God directly killed by True Sage Grand Void?
He had no desire to be the second!
True Sage Grand Void had personally left behind an image to back Carson Flores up; that alone was enough to show how highly he regarded Carson Flores. After all, Immortals value their promises—what they say, they must fulfill. Otherwise, once a Heart Demon forms, that would be troublesome.
"You’re all going to the Crimson Immortal Domain?"
Carson Flores nodded. "Yeah, we’ll make a trip to the Bitter Sea Immortal Domain first, then head over."
Halvyr Briggs narrowed his eyes. "To meet True Sage Grand Void?"
Carson Flores said with a smile, "Got a little personal business to take care of, but once we’re in the Bitter Sea Immortal Domain, we’ll definitely pay our respects to the senior. I might even need his help with that private matter."
All right then, their relationship’s already at that level—what the hell else can I say.
How could Halvyr Briggs not know that Carson Flores was deliberately bringing this up just to remind him: I might be standing in front of you, and you might have the strength to kill us, but you’d better think about whether you can afford to offend True Sage Grand Void.
He had to admit, flying the tiger’s skin as a banner felt great; just from the flickering yet helpless look in Halvyr Briggs’s eyes, you could clearly feel it.
Carson Flores dared to bet that if he didn’t have this tiger skin, if he walked into the Sea God Sect like this, Shirley Miller would definitely be killed, the Sea God’s Seal would be seized, and he himself would either be killed or captured and handed over to the Myriad Immortals Palace in exchange for merit.
Relatively speaking, Carson Flores trusted Lorvian Randall, but he didn’t trust Halvyr Briggs at all.
To have been the Sea God and Sect Hierarch for so long, and still manage to turn things around even at death’s door—this old fox only saw profit in his eyes.
Halvyr Briggs was silent for a few seconds before a smile finally appeared on his face. "Since the Sea God’s Seal has already acknowledged a master, and True Sage Grand Void has also given instructions, then your wife is naturally the new Sea God of our Sea God Sect."
Carson Flores wasn’t surprised and said with a smile, "And her identity?"
Halvyr Briggs smiled. "The Sea God has always been mysterious. The symbol is the Sea God’s Seal; as for who the person actually is, that’s not important at all. If I don’t say anything, and the Saint Heir doesn’t say anything, no one will know who she is, much less her relationship with you. From now on, she has only one identity: the Sea God!"
"I think what she cares more about should be cultivation and the improvement of her strength, not the authority that comes with being Sea God, right?"
Carson Flores smiled. "Of course. She can ignore everything in the sect, but the cultivation resources and treatment she’s supposed to have must not be missing even a single bit."
"Will Power, then."
Halvyr Briggs agreed with a smile. "Don’t worry. Our Sea God Sect is so large, and our Will Power is like an ocean. As long as she can absorb it, let her absorb to her heart’s content; it’s not a problem at all. How much can one person even absorb?"
Carson Flores nodded in satisfaction. "Good. Who knows, maybe one day she’ll become a Quasi-Saint. By then, the name of the Sea God will resound throughout the entire Immortal Realm, and the Sea God Sect might not have to be trapped in the North Sea anymore..."
Halvyr Briggs wasn’t taken in by the pie Carson Flores was drawing, but he still smiled. "Honestly, I also hope we can take that step. If so, my Sea God Sect will surely grow even more glorious."
Carson Flores laughed happily. "Thank you, Sect Hierarch. I’ll be entrusting my wife’s safety to you!"
Halvyr Briggs smiled slightly. "I once promised you that I’d let you enter the Pool of Will Power to cultivate. Last time you came, the headquarters had pretty much been smashed to bits and the Pool of Will Power was ruined as well. Now that everything’s back on track, it’s about time I fulfilled that promise."
Carson Flores’s eyes lit up. "That’s great, thank you so much. My strength’s been progressing a bit slowly lately, I was just getting anxious about it."
Halvyr Briggs cursed with a smile. "If your speed counts as slow, then there isn’t a single fast Cultivator left in the world."
Carson Flores burst out laughing. "You flatter me, senior!"
Standing off to the side, Mary Jimenez watched Carson Flores and Halvyr Briggs chatting away so happily, the atmosphere so cordial, and secretly felt a sense of admiration.
This is the Sea God Sect we’re talking about!
Carson Flores was standing there as a wanted man of the Myriad Immortals Palace, yet he could still suppress the Sea God Sect, forcing them to pinch their noses and accept her as their Sea God, not daring to harbor any reckless thoughts.
Her man was just way too cool!
