Chapter 2767: The Attacker Bursting from the Ground
The sky roared, the earth shattered.
This unparalleled battle spread over a radius of a thousand miles, especially around the encampment, where everything was blown apart.
Carson Flores stood atop a building, gazing into the distance. Suddenly, he noticed that behind the ranks of Magic Spiders, many spiders were jumping into the fissures of the shattered earth, disappearing from view.
Carson frowned; were these Magic Spiders fleeing?
While Carson was puzzled, he felt the building beneath his feet gently trembling. Looking down, he saw the ground ahead suddenly splitting open as a Magic Spider with a pitch-black body emitting black smoke burst forth from underground.
The next second, more Magic Spiders emerged from underground.
These Magic Spiders were much smaller than those fighting Avidan Hartman and others earlier, but their ferocity was not any weaker. They launched a mad attack at the nearest people.
Carson no longer cared about exposing his identity. Within an instant, he summoned the Ethereal Pagoda, enveloping himself in a golden light. With one stride, his body was suddenly far removed from the central area.
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
More and more Magic Spiders shot out from underground, including several as large as mountains!
The battle instantly extended from outside the array barrier to inside the barrier, with experts inside the barrier taking action one after another.
Carson had no intention of fighting; he only wanted to save his own life.
He quietly activated the Starry Sky Magic Demon Snake but did not release it.
The entire encampment turned into a battlefield. Fortunately, the Magic Spiders invading from underground were relatively weak in strength, and there were still many experts in the encampment. Though several unfortunate ones were killed in surprise attacks, most people managed to stabilize the battle lines.
"Ah!"
A woman’s scream rang out. Carson turned his head and saw a group of women fleeing from behind toward him, pursued by a Magic Spider.
The spider was not large, but the group of women was evidently weaker, each one frightened out of their wits.
With a glance, Carson caught sight of a familiar face.
Zorvyn Harrison!
Zorvyn was running behind everyone, commanding a blade wheel to slash at the Magic Spider in mid-air.
She was still covering the retreat of other flower maidens!
Is this woman an idiot?
These people previously looked down on you, yet in a life-and-death moment, you’re still thinking of protecting them?
Carson strode out, instantly appearing behind the Magic Spider, Nebula Sword in hand, slashing like a bolt from the sky.
Carson was now in the Carp Dragon Realm, wielding an incredibly powerful sword that even a Superior Grade Great Land Supreme Immortal might struggle to fully counter.
This Magic Spider clearly lacked the strength of a Great Land Prime Immortal. It was spewing webs to entangle the blade wheel falling from the sky, but unexpectedly, a sneak attack came from behind.
The Nebula Sword, forged from Seven-Colored Meteoric Iron, unleashed astonishing destructive power. The entire Magic Spider was sliced forcibly in half by Carson’s slash.
Zorvyn’s blade wheel got caught in the web, instantly losing its power. As she panicked, the Magic Spider in front of her split in two, revealing a familiar man behind its cleaved body.
"Kaelen Flores!"
Zorvyn’s eyes lit up with fierce joy.
In the direst of times, he appeared again to save her!
Could it be as the divination foretold, he is truly the one she’s been waiting for?
Carson grabbed Zorvyn’s arm, took one stride, and dragged her to another safe location in an instant.
Carson let go of Zorvyn’s hand, turned around, and met her bright and fiery eyes.
"You really are a pushover. All of them looked down on you before, yet in a life-and-death moment, you still went to save them. If I hadn’t seen it, could you have faced that Magic Spider?"
Zorvyn, scolded by Carson, wasn’t angry at all. On the contrary, her heart warmed.
"They are much weaker than me. If I don’t help, they’re certainly doomed..."
Carson glared at Zorvyn but said no more.
"Stay close to me, don’t run around!"
Zorvyn obediently replied, "Okay!"
"Boom!"
The ground of the encampment suddenly exploded again as a colossal Magic Spider the size of a mountain shot up from the earth.
As soon as it appeared, it sprayed a stream of venom toward the crowd ahead. The venom covered even magical treasures, causing them to emit black smoke and be instantly corroded and ruined. Two unlucky souls hit by the venom started melting like burning candles.
Carson watched from a distance, secretly alarmed. This was a big one!
Indeed, this giant Magic Spider instantly charged into the crowd, rampaging without restraint, smashing away several magical treasures, then spraying several webs to entangle and pull in the slowest runner right into its mouth. The scream stopped abruptly amidst its venomous fangs.
Carson watched the scene, his heart racing.
He realized the Magic Spider’s web had unusual properties. It could prevent people from using Spiritual Power or drain the vitality of magical treasures. Those ensnared became like ordinary people, lambs to the slaughter!
The Magic Spider chewed on the Immortal’s body in its mouth, its eight legs slightly bent before suddenly springing forward, leaping hundreds of meters and landing with a boom in front of Nerisse Blaine and others who were retreating backward.
