The Former Witch Reincarnated as A Village Girl

34 Stories: Brave Men and Witches

One young man was walking in the wilderness. Keep walking straight as you flutter your legs from time to time as you aim for the top of the hill that leads in front of you.

The young man was flushing his dull brown hair all back and his forehead just a little dripping. The eyes are rugged and only slightly red and swollen for some reason. And the expression was somewhere rough, wrapped around a cloak full of dirt, and the atmosphere was as if he had committed even a major crime.

"Ha... ha..."

Did you keep walking quite a distance, the young man drags his leg and pokes his knee on the spot? Shake your shoulders and put your strength into your arms as you breathe in to manage to move forward. The young man drowned a glimmer of sweat from his forehead. Wipe it off your arms, take a deep breath, then wake up your body and walk again.

The road is bad and legs are taken with gravel and pebbles. Sometimes he would fall into a rock that had gone out just a little bit. Still, young people don't stop walking. He continued to move his legs desperately as his consciousness became blurred.

"It's late! Brave man, what are you doing! If you walk like that, the sun will go down!

"Oh, sister... even the brave ones are trying, and you can't force them to do that..."

Two girls came down from the hill before such a young man.

One has bright red hair wrapped in a side tail to the left, a girl with a strong eye. On the other side, a girl with watery hair wrapped in a side tail to the right and a saggy eye that seemed to be understated.

They were both dressed in cute dresses, arranged in black and white, and the red-haired called the youth thing a brave man as he jumped a pinch and made his stride rush. The other hides behind his sister with a troubled face.

"Don't say anything sweet, Mimi! This guy didn't do anything wrong, because he hunted us witches for a crime he didn't even tell us about!!

"... ugh."

That's what the red-haired girl says and blames the brave man for his tight tone. The brave man could not deny it either, and he bit his lips to bite them to bitterness.

He is the hero, the brave one who crusaded all witches in the [witch hunt]. After crusading all the witches, he disappeared from before the people when he heard Shatifar's words. He decided to travel the world, hiding his identity, to see if what he had come to believe was true.

He toured various places. Sometimes he visited the enemy kingdom, the Devil's Kingdom, the Fairy Forest, and various Fae nations. As a result, he learned that there was no definite justice in this world. The Fae are fighting with their own justice, and there is no such thing as evil there. We're all fighting just to protect our country.

The brave men were taught by the men of the royal palace as evil. The Fae ate human flesh and were told lies that they are evil beings that destroy the world. And I was taught that the most evil thing was witches. If we crusade them, there will be peace in the world, that's how the brave were believed. But the reality was different.

The fact that the witches were gone made the demons, who had been grown up, start to move vigorously. Sometimes demons woke up enough to burn down one city, causing major disasters. Furthermore, with the elimination of the obstacle of witchcraft, the demons have become aggressive in their invasion and are about to start a war in earnest.

The world was at peace or caught in a vortex of more chaos. The ripples are spreading little by little, and humans will never notice them.

Therefore, the brave man is traveling with [twin witches] Lili and Mimi to atone for the sins he has committed.

"Sorry......"

"Hmm! It's too late to apologize now. Unlike us who were sealed, I can't see everyone else who was killed anymore..."

The brave man bows his head and apologizes with a hard look on his face. But Lili, her twin sister, didn't make it any better, and when she looked sad when she said she would never see another witch again, she turned her back. I keep moving on, staring at my sister and the brave as Mimi, the sister left behind, was in trouble. And he approached the brave man who was depressed, and spoke gently.

…………

"Um, never mind, brave man... my sister and I have known for a long time that witches are scary beings from humans... so don't let the brave man down. The bad news is that they're the people of the royal palace who cheated on you."

That's what my twin sister Mimi said and encouraged the brave with a gentle smile. The brave man couldn't help but smile with a crying look on his face, bowing his head and thanking him. Mimi follows her sister as she puts her hand on her mouth a little shy.

Brave men bite their own lips so hard that blood runs through them.

How much I repented, how much I apologized, how much I made amends, and, as Lili said, they can no longer meet with their fellow witches. Unlike them, who were sealed by the power of the brave, the other witches killed themselves with this hand. The brave man suffered from that reality and accidentally restrained his mouth. Guilt to get in, pain to throw up.

There is no escape. The brave man slowly woke up and started walking again.

"The next demon is the foggy bird. Totally, I was nostalgic and grown up when this guy was being kept by Shatifar... now he's a problem child destroying many cities."

"I can't help it...... the fog monster bird is a godbeast level demon. No one can stop Shatifar when he's gone."

When they reached the top of the hill, the three of them finally exhaled, making sure they saw the pile of mist they were aiming for.

A journey of redemption for the brave. It's about preserving the balance of nature that was preserved by the witch.

Until now, the brave men had continued their journey of suppressing demons that had been ravaged by the absence of witches and dealing with godbeasts freed from sealing. And this time, deal with the foggy monster birds that were once nostalgic and adulterated by the witch Shatifar of wisdom. The strength of that demon, called even the Divine Beast, is naturally immeasurable.

"Come on, brave man, let's continue your journey of redemption."

Lili says so by reaching back to Kurli and the brave. Mimi also nodded small and glanced at the brave.

The duties of the brave. That's redemption for the witches. The brave man nodded forcefully and grabbed softly the pattern of the sword that was lowered to his own hips. He dedicates himself to atoning for a sin that will never be forgiven... forever, ever.

No matter how much you beg forgiveness, no matter how much you atone for your sins, that journey of redemption will never end.

In the deep dark, the brave man was remembering. When I was still a formal brave man myself, when I was on a witch-hunting journey with those who believed I was one of them. I was remembering those abominable times.

"I'm not kidding! Humane... kill the witches!? You people get killed on your own!!

The blue-haired witch suppressed her breasts pierced with her sword as she shouted so, falling from the top of the tower.

Either way, that wound won't help. And it came to pass, that the brave man did not stab the stomach, and left the land behind.

And the darkness changes. The next scene was one that the brave remember well too. Twin witches. Girls on their own journey now. One crack in the twin girl looked hateful about the brave man.

"Huh? Sealed magic? I'm making a fool of myself!... why are we the only ones sealed! Kill him! Just like when you hunted other witches!!

I didn't have the courage to kill a child who looked like a child, no matter how many witches. Then the brave man used sealed magic and sealed the twin witches. I have no problem saying that I practically crusaded this. I told my people that I had crusaded the witch safely, and left the land behind.

The darkness changes its appearance again. The next scene was the one where the brave man was most shocked. Sleeping in the foggy depths, the brave met those who tell themselves the truth.

"Awareness brave. Have you seen this world with your own eyes, with your own feet? Was the witch really evil? Were those you slaughtered and defeated truly rebels? I'm not here right now. Are your people really trustworthy?

The woman told the brave man the truth when she said she was dying. I made it clear that the brave men would never think about it before. So the brave man realized. I've done irrevocable things myself.

A never-ending redemption. A life that can inflict future perpetual suffering. Suddenly the brave man felt a fierce fever. Sharp pain like burning and killing from the inside of your body. I try to complain about the pain, but my mouth doesn't move. The brave man moaned and suffered infinite pain that would not even allow him to die.

"Ahhhhhhhh!!?

The brave woke up there. Disturbed brown hair hangs from your eyes and sweats heavily from your forehead. Looking around, it was in a pile of mist. I remember that I was taking a break, waking up as I wiped my sweat. I noticed my hands trembling. The brave man squeezes it with his other hand and distorts his expression.

"Sorry... sorry... sorry..."

Words of apology naturally leaked out of my mouth. I don't know who that is directed at. But he himself must apologize. The brave man assumed that he had to go back. An inferior creature who must apologize to everyone. I hoped that being so humble would make the guilt that was in me disappear at all.

The brave man woke up because of the noise coming from the front. There was Lili, a twin witch, leaning against her sister on the other side of the burning fire that was lit. She narrows her eyes to look down on the brave.

"Did you have a dream? Dream of killing us..."

"... sorry"

Lili only replied and turned away when she asked if the brave man had woken her up.

I don't know when it started. After the brave man began his journey and spent several nights, he suddenly began to dream about it. At first I just thought of the witches. But gradually it turned into a bloodstained miserable appearance, and eventually it became a scene for itself to kill. The brave man was driven by constant pain in his journey to see it every night, unable to get a decent night's sleep.

"You have a difficult personality, too. Such a thin nerve, you've often served as a brave man."

Lili said something like that while stroking Mimi's head asleep next door. The brave man gave a complex expression to the word. Lili's words are always just painful objects that pierce the hearts of the brave. In fact, Lili had done it intentionally, and the brave man could not answer anything about it there.

"But that's fine. That's how you should continue to suffer. Troubled by the sins I've committed..."

Lili said so with a satisfied grin and meditated her eyes.

I guess I woke him up after all. Yet when I saw them not complaining, the brave thought I was still forcing them to.

At that time, when the brave man decided to embark on a journey of redemption, he did not know what to do from it, although it was good to have had to go out into the outside world. I've already hunted everything myself to beg the witch for forgiveness. There is no way and no means. And he remembered that only the two of us were kept alive and sealed after the troubles. You can't be allowed to unseal it now, but you can still find your way. And he embarked on a journey to unseal the witch.

And now, after Lili, the twin witch, cursed me, the brave man traveled with them because of something.

Lili told. I'll show you how to atone for your sins. That was the word of salvation above all for the brave. So he follows Lili. No matter how dirty a word you are exposed to and how painful things are, you think that's salvation.

"Shatifar... you're right, I've seen different worlds with my own eyes"

Pottori and the brave groaned so. I don't talk to anybody, I squeal so towards the void.

As Shatifar, the witch of wisdom, told me, the brave man circled the world with his own feet and thought about how the world works. And they gave me a minute. How ignorant we were.

"I... didn't know anything about witches."

It has been taught that witches are evil beings that threaten people. Even little kids can teach that in a picture book. That's what they all think witches are for. But the brave actually went around the world and found out it wasn't. The existence of a witch is not that easy to describe, it is a complex being that we have known this world for a long time before we were human beings.

The brave man closed his eyes quietly. Behind my brain I see the witches. I don't visit nights when he can sleep quietly.
