Chapter 100
Anna’s words made Angie fall silent.
Ever since she decided to abandon the dazzling world outside to care for her sister with all her heart, she had given up on the hope of ever getting married.
Even if her sister was cured, she didn’t want to think about marriage anymore.
It wasn’t just because she wanted to stay with her sister; it was also because so many people she knew had suffered through miserable marriages.
Take Qin Fei’Er, for example. The glamour of her newlywed days was matched only by the loneliness and pain she felt now.
Or take the nurses and doctors she’d met—at least half of them had rocky marriages.
These stark examples had extinguished any hope or desire she had for marriage.
But not getting married didn’t mean she had to be so lonely.
She had suffered from so much loneliness during the years she spent caring for her sister.
When she kept busy, the sting of loneliness would be numbed.
But now her sister’s condition had improved, and there was hope for a cure.
Now that she would no longer be tied down by her sister’s illness, it was time for her to live for herself.
’But how should she live?’
’Should I become a refined woman, detached from worldly concerns, all while remaining single?’
’Or should I do as Anna said, and just do whatever makes me happy?’
Angie laughed bitterly to herself. ’I’m just an ordinary person. How could I ever detach myself from the world?’
’But to be like my sister... that seems ridiculous.’
Unable to accept the idea or make a choice right away, she said, "Let me think about it."
Anna didn’t press her. She just smiled and linked her arm through Angie’s. "No matter what you choose, sis, I’ll support you. And as for Chenyang... he’s mine, and he’ll be yours, too."
"You’ve really gone off the deep end, you little minx. You’re not just dating, you’re trying to drag your big sister into it. We may not be supermodels, but we’re not bad-looking. Do we both really have to get tangled up with a punk like Chenyang?"
"Not necessarily."
"Then why do you keep going on about it?"
"Because Chenyang is amazing."
"There are plenty of guys who are richer and more handsome than him."
"True, but there are very few who are better than him... *in that department*. And of the few who are, we’ll probably never get the chance to meet them."
"You... You silly girl, is that all you think about?"
"Sis, we’re in our twenties. People our age are either married or have kids. At the very least, they’ve already had their share of experience with men. We’ve had it so rough all these years. Now that things are finally looking up, don’t we deserve to make up for lost time, and then some?"
"You do have a point."
"So, should I ask Chenyang to come over later? We can have some fun together, what do you say?" Anna said with a grin, a look of blissful recollection on her face. "Chenyang is seriously incredible. He made me fly so many times. It felt amazing."
Angie felt a bit embarrassed talking about this with her own sister, but when she thought about that big thing of Chenyang’s and the look of pure, satisfied bliss on Anna’s face, a ripple of desire stirred within her.
...
Just as the sisters were whispering about bedroom affairs, Chenyang arrived back at Qin Fei’Er’s house.
The moment he walked in the door, a suffocating atmosphere hit him.
In the living room, Qin Fei’Er was mopping the floor.
Lin Xiaowei was sitting on the sofa. The TV was on, but her eyes were unfocused, and a hint of anger clouded her stunningly beautiful face.
’What’s going on?’
’What the hell did that loser Li Qiang do to make Lin Xiaowei so mad that the whole house feels this tense?’
"Xiaochen..."
While Chenyang was still trying to figure things out, Qin Fei’Er called to him in a low voice. She then glanced toward Lin Xiaowei, signaling for him to go and try to talk to her.
But Chenyang still had no idea what was going on, so he didn’t know where to begin. He moved closer and whispered, "What happened, Aunt Qin?"
Qin Fei’Er shook her head with a wry smile. "I don’t know either. We played mahjong at home this afternoon, and then a few of my girlfriends treated us to dinner, so we all went. I was busy chatting with them during the meal, so I didn’t pay much attention to those two. But I vaguely remember them talking and laughing. For some reason, though, when we got back, Xiaowei pushed Qiangqiang into his room and then just sat here without saying a word. When I asked what was wrong, she just said she was fine, only a little tired."
"Maybe you’re overthinking it. What if she really is just tired?"
"No way! My gut tells me she’s definitely mad at Qiangqiang, or maybe even me."
Chenyang’s eyes flickered. "Alright, I’ll go ask her for you."
"Okay. You’re both young, you can relate to each other. Please, find out what’s wrong. I feel like I’m suffocating from the tension ever since we got back."
"Don’t worry, Aunt Qin. I’m on it."
Chenyang gave a small smile and walked over to Lin Xiaowei.
To give Lin Xiaowei space to speak freely, Qin Fei’Er took the mop and went into the bathroom.
"Did Li Qiang piss you off?" Chenyang asked as he sat down.
Lin Xiaowei said nothing, simply lifting her gaze to stare at him.
A second or two of eye contact didn’t bother Chenyang, but her unwavering stare started to unnerve him. "Look, just tell me what happened."
Lin Xiaowei’s red lips parted. "Can you fuck me again, right in front of that bastard Li Qiang?"
