Chapter 191
Chenyang gave a wry smile. "You came all the way back. I thought it was for something important."
"Getting some satisfaction *is* an important matter! It’s a top priority for soothing the soul and satisfying the flesh. If you ask me, it’s right up there with eating, drinking, and sleeping."
"Well, when you put it like that, you have a point."
Chenyang chuckled. The two of them exchanged contact information and left the emergency room together.
Outside the emergency room were not only Tian Xiangqian and Elder Tian, Tian Fugui, but also Liu Yun and a few hospital administrators.
When Tian Fugui learned of Liu Mei’Er’s car accident, he immediately dropped everything he was doing and rushed over.
The first thing he did upon arrival was find the hospital administrators and demand they do everything in their power to ensure the safety of Liu Mei’Er and the baby in her womb.
While waiting outside, Liu Yun had assured him that Chenyang would definitely be able to keep Liu Mei’Er safe, but Elder Tian, who had never even heard of Chenyang, was unconvinced.
If Tian Xiangqian hadn’t been holding him back with all his might, he probably would have kicked the door down and stormed in.
Seeing Liu Mei’Er walk out, he rushed forward. "Mei’Er, how are you? If you feel uncomfortable anywhere, tell me right away. The hospital administrators are here; I’ll have them treat you immediately."
Liu Mei’Er smiled. "I’m sorry for making you worry, Dad, but I’m all better now. Look at me, do I look the least bit unwell?"
Tian Fugui stared, looking her over carefully. The worried expression on his face vanished, replaced by a look of astonishment.
"Director Liu, what did you say this young doctor’s name was again?"
"Chenyang!"
"This Dr. Chen is quite impressive. My daughter-in-law was in a car accident while heavily pregnant. Even if it wasn’t serious, I heard she was wheeled in unconscious. But now, not only is she walking out on her own, her complexion is rosy and she’s full of life."
With that, Tian Fugui gave Chenyang a thumbs-up. "Incredible. A true talent for one so young!"
"Mr. Tian, you flatter me. It’s mainly because your daughter-in-law’s condition wasn’t serious, and she has a strong constitution to begin with. That’s why she recovered so quickly."
"Are there any other issues?"
"Just a few minor things. She’ll need to take some medicine to get her system back in order and get plenty of rest. Even though the impact wasn’t severe, the accident was still quite a shock."
"Then I’ll have someone prepare some restorative foods for her when we get home, to help her build her strength back up."
"Um... Restorative foods are fine, but don’t overdo it."
Tian Fugui nodded, though he clearly didn’t pay Chenyang’s words any mind. After the group exchanged a few more pleasantries, Liu Mei’Er left with the Tian father and son.
The two hospital administrators didn’t stay long either. Before leaving, they gave Chenyang an appreciative look. "You’re very promising, young man. Keep up the good work."
After watching the administrators leave, Liu Yun said meaningfully, "Not bad at all. It’s only your first day and you’re already getting praised by the hospital’s top brass. With your superb medical skills, I’m afraid you’ll soon become the OB/GYN department’s second dazzling, rising star."
Chenyang asked curiously, "Who’s the first?"
"Bai Jie, of course."
"She’s definitely got the skills, but she’s just a bit too proud. People who know her say it’s just her personality, but anyone who doesn’t would think she’s some rich heiress just here to pad her resume."
"Pfft!" Liu Yun chuckled. "Such a gorgeous woman, and that’s the only impression she left on you?"
"My impression of her doesn’t matter. What matters is that she still hasn’t made good on our bet!"
"I’m afraid that’s not going to happen."
"Why not?"
"Do you really think someone as proud as a princess would actually agree to get a room with you?"
Liu Yun smiled, then changed the subject. "Instead of wasting your time on her, I think you’d be better off thinking about Fei’Er."
Chenyang raised an eyebrow. "What about Aunt Qin?"
"Did you forget what we talked about yesterday?"
’Yesterday?’
Chenyang scratched his head, trying to remember. He suddenly recalled that before he and Liu Yun parted ways yesterday, she had said she would find a chance today to help him get with Qin Fei’Er. She also said she’d let him experience a thrill like nothing he’d ever felt before.
Seeing the look of anticipation on Chenyang’s face as his mind wandered, Liu Yun smiled. "I’m finished up here. If you’re not in a hurry to get back to work, let’s go find Fei’Er right now."
