His words caused an immediate uproar.

"Could it be we’ve really misunderstood this Doctor Chen?"

"People who are trying to gain some benefit usually bluster and exaggerate first, then start the treatment. That makes it easier to get what they want."

"But Doctor Chen was nearly done with the treatment before he explained the situation. This doesn’t seem like he’s trying to gain anything. It just seems like he wanted the family to understand how serious this illness is."

As they spoke, many people in the crowd began to waver, and their gazes toward Chenyang now held a hint of guilt and apology.

But others still clung to their original opinion.

"He’s lying to all of us! We saw that old traditional doctor perform acupuncture, and we heard what he said. The process involves more than just sticking needles in; you have to manipulate them and also use medicine. Most importantly, one session is barely effective. It takes many treatments to provide relief, let alone a cure."

"But this kid just haphazardly stuck the needles in. He didn’t use any medicine, and he hasn’t touched the silver needles since. Forget a cure, I doubt he’ll achieve even the most basic therapeutic effect."

"That’s right. He saw things weren’t looking good, so he’s claiming the treatment is almost over. But in reality, it’s as if he hasn’t done anything at all."

"If you don’t believe me, just look at Mr. Lin. His eyes are still closed, his face is pale, and he shows no signs of waking up normally."

"Miss Lin, it doesn’t matter if we get duped by him, but you can’t keep listening to his words! I don’t think this kid is a doctor at all. He’s just a common charlatan, a total scam artist."

"He’s deceiving you. Before, he was trying to win your and Mr. Lin’s favor to ask for some benefits. Now, he’s trying to use this as an excuse to get himself off the hook and avoid being held responsible by you and Mr. Lin."

Some were berating Chenyang, while others tried to persuade Lin Xiaoyue.

Chenyang remained completely composed, showing no sign of panic.

Lin Xiaoyue’s stunning features, however, were clouded with worry. Her already furrowed brows knitted together even more tightly.

She knew some people were just trying to stir up trouble for their own amusement.

But she also knew that what most of them were saying had a point.

Chenyang had inserted so many needles in just a few minutes, and his subsequent neglect of them certainly seemed like child’s play. It didn’t look like a proper treatment at all.

But as a doctor, he should have no reason to trifle with a patient’s life.

A torrent of conflicting emotions flooded Lin Xiaoyue’s heart, making her increasingly agitated amidst her panic. A flicker of impatient anger surfaced in her eyes as she looked at Chenyang.

"My uncle is in critical condition, his life hanging by a thread! As a doctor, can you please stop with your disgusting schemes and just save him, treat him?! Stop putting on this nauseating charade, will you?!"

Chenyang sneered. "I’ve been working my butt off here this whole time, and in your eyes, it’s just a ’disgusting, nauseating charade’?"

"You say you’ve been working this whole time, so why hasn’t my uncle shown any improvement?"

"Healing takes time and follows a process. I’m using acupuncture, not some miracle cure. Your uncle’s condition is severe; it’s impossible to heal him completely in an instant."

"You keep talking about acupuncture, but all you did was haphazardly stick the needles in. You haven’t done anything else."

"I haven’t done anything else for two reasons. First, it’s not time for the other steps yet. Second, from the moment you all came in, you and everyone else have been questioning me, distracting me, and constantly interrupting me. If you were trying to sing while people were constantly cursing you out and cutting you off, could you still sing well?"

"I..."

Chenyang’s rebuttal made Lin Xiaoyue’s pretty face flush red.

’That’s right.’

From the moment she arrived, a barrage of doubts had been hounding Chenyang. And when he tried to continue the acupuncture, she herself had interrupted him several times.

With all these distractions, who could possibly continue the treatment and help her uncle wake up sooner?

In that instant, most of Lin Xiaoyue’s anger and confidence evaporated.

Just as she was at a loss for what to do, a man beside her chimed in, "Our questioning may have distracted you, but wasn’t that doubt caused by your own unprofessionalism in the first place?"

"Exactly! We’ve been staying in this hospital for at least three or four days. Why have we never questioned Director Liu or the other doctors, but we’re questioning you? At the end of the day, it’s because your actions aren’t convincing!"

Chenyang scoffed. "A bunch of people who know nothing about medicine are standing here telling a doctor his medical skills are unprofessional. Don’t you find that ridiculous?"

"We may not know medicine, but we’re not blind or stupid. With a real doctor, regardless of the outcome, the professionalism they display during the treatment alone is enough to be convincing."

"But you? The whole time, you’ve been acting like it’s a game. Forget about curing Mr. Lin—if we let you keep messing around, you’re going to kill him!"

"So in your eyes, the actual results of the treatment don’t matter? The standard for judging a good doctor is whether they *look* professional during the process?"

"Don’t twist the subject! We’re saying your treatment looks like a joke, and you can’t possibly cure Mr. Lin."

"That’s right! If you’ve got a problem with that, then use your flashy, useless tricks to make Mr. Lin better and show us!"

Faced with the crowd’s ridicule, Chenyang’s eyes suddenly turned sharp. "This is a top-tier Acupuncture Skill, yet in your eyes, it’s nothing but flashy, foolish nonsense!"

"Fine! I’ll show you just how laughable your ignorant ideas truly are!"
