The City Hospital was the standard-bearer for Yang City’s medical community.

For example, an emergency department in a comparable hospital might have only three doctors and nine nurses, whereas the City Hospital would have at least five doctors and thirteen nurses!
Even if one or two doctors had to take emergency leave, it wouldn’t affect the hospital’s normal operations in the slightest.

The second time was when a chemical plant in Yang City had an explosion caused by a flammable chemical leak, injuring dozens of factory workers.
The City Hospital, being the closest to the accident, received an urgent notice from the government. To ensure all the workers could receive timely treatment, they recalled all medical staff who were on leave.
At this thought, Qin Fei’Er’s brow furrowed. "Every full recall in the past meant a major disaster happened. Does this mean..."
Before she could finish, Liu Yun nodded. "There’s been a massive multi-car pile-up on the Ring Road. Two of the vehicles were buses carrying members of a senior citizens’ tour group. From what we know so far, there are already more than twenty injured."
"So many!?"
"And that’s just the rough estimate from the tour group’s side. The vice-director just said their buses weren’t even at the epicenter of the accident. If we count everyone, the total number of injured could be comparable to the number of trauma cases our ER sees in six months."

Qin Fei’Er and Chenyang both sucked in a sharp breath in unison.
Qin Fei’Er scrambled to her feet. "Lives are at stake. You two, don’t just stand there. Hurry back."
Liu Yun and Chenyang exchanged a glance and hurriedly got dressed.

Chenyang turned to see Angie, the older of the twin sisters, running out in a panic. "Chenyang! Director Liu!" she shouted. "Are you heading back to the City Hospital?"

"Our upstairs neighbor, Angie," Chenyang explained.

Seeing the fervent and adoring look in Angie’s eyes as she gazed at Liu Yun, Chenyang chuckled and said, "Well, next time there’s a chance, we’ll have Sister Liu transfer you to the ER or Ob/Gyn."
