Chapter 4: It Depends on Your Performance
"Absolutely not!"
Lin Xiaowei immediately shook her head, refusing.
She could understand Li Qiang’s mother renting out one of the rooms to make ends meet.
But she would absolutely not allow the person moving in to be Chenyang!
’It wasn’t because she liked Li Qiang that she had married him. It was a transaction: a marriage in exchange for a residency permit to establish herself in the city, and a way to use his mother’s connections to climb higher at her job!’
’If Li Qiang’s mother found out the new tenant was her ex-boyfriend, or worse, found out what happened last night, all her plans would go up in smoke.’
As for last night’s wild passion, it had been a spur-of-the-moment decision, an impulsive act born from her bitterness.
Li Qiang’s family had fallen from grace, and he himself had become a good-for-nothing.
’For someone with her looks and abilities, marrying him was purely debasing herself. She could forget about ever enjoying what a woman was meant to enjoy in life.’
That was why after work yesterday, she had wanted to find some excitement to soothe her bitter heart.
’Her original plan was just to buy that toy and play with it in secret, but then she ran into Chenyang.’
She had always felt a little guilty about how they broke up.
’She had thought to herself that since Chenyang had lost his medical license, the chances of them meeting again, even in the same city, were slim. Spurred on by that bitterness, she had slept with him.’
When she left the hotel this morning, she had been satisfied.
’At least she had tasted what it was like to be a real woman. From now on, married to that good-for-nothing Li Qiang, she would just focus on her career. Once she was truly powerful, she would become independent.’
However, before this beautiful dream could even begin, Chenyang had reappeared.
She couldn’t let her dream turn into a nightmare!
"You can’t live here."
"She wants to rent out a room, and I happen to be looking for a place. The price is right, so why can’t I move in?"
"Because..."
"Because you’re worried I’ll tell Li Qiang and his family what happened last night?"
"Chenyang, I’m begging you. Please, go find another place to live, okay? If you don’t have money, I can help you rent one. I’ll even pay for a whole year."
"Your money? I don’t want it. I’m living here."
Chenyang’s insistence on staying wasn’t entirely to make things difficult for Lin Xiaowei. It was also because he had accidentally learned during his chat with the landlady that she was a prominent figure in Yang City’s medical circles.
He had studied traditional Chinese medicine with his grandfather since he was a child. Later, from middle school through university, he had poured almost all his energy into medicine.
He was devastated to have lost his medical license, but he still didn’t want to give up.
He had come to Yang City this time hoping to find an opportunity to once again pursue his dream of being a doctor.
After learning the landlady had status in the medical community, he had gritted his teeth and agreed to the rent, even though it was a bit above market price, thinking he could find a chance to ask for her help.
Even though he now knew the landlady was Li Qiang’s mother, if he played his cards right, he could still get her to help him.
At this thought, Chenyang couldn’t be bothered to talk to Lin Xiaowei anymore. He pushed past her and walked inside.
"Chenyang, I’m the Li Family’s daughter-in-law now. I have every right to stop you from staying here."
"You have your rights, and I have the right to tell Li Qiang and his mother what happened yesterday."
"You... You have no proof. Who would believe you?"
Seeing Lin Xiaowei’s misplaced confidence, Chenyang took out his phone, opened the photo album, and a few pictures quickly filled her vision.
In the first photo, she was stark naked, her pretty face flushed red, straddling Chenyang and riding him.
In the second, her small hand was wrapped around his member, her red lips parted as she fervently took him into her mouth.
The subsequent photos were even more explicit.
"Chenyang, you..."
"You want to call me despicable, right? Go ahead. I don’t care. But after you’re done cursing me out, remember to call Li Qiang or his mother over. Also, I need you to do two things for me. One, convince them to let me live here. Two, I want to use Li Qiang’s mother’s connections to help me get my medical license back."
"It’s bad enough you’re threatening me and bullying me in my own home, but now you actually expect me to help you?"
"Lin University Beauty, you’re not going to refuse, are you?"
Lin Xiaowei desperately wanted to refuse. She even wanted to bite Chenyang. But she didn’t dare.
After taking a deep breath, she said, "I can help you, but you have to delete the photos and promise not to tell anyone what happened yesterday."
"That depends on your performance."
"You..."
"Weiwei, who’s here?"
Just as Lin Xiaowei was about to retort, a captivating voice drifted over from the direction of the bathroom.
Immediately after, the glass door opened.
A beautiful young-looking matron with a mature, alluring air walked out.
She must have just showered, as she was wrapped in nothing but a thin bath towel.
Her skin, dotted with a few glistening water droplets, looked exceptionally fair and smooth.
Her small feet in slippers were delicate and fair, like fine jade, exuding an enticing aura.
Her classic "chopstick legs" were long and straight, perfectly proportioned. They were every bit as good as Lin Xiaowei’s, if not better.
Of course, the most eye-catching feature was the pair of peaks on her chest.
The towel wasn’t small and looked a little loose wrapped around her, but over her ample bosom, it was stretched taut, barely containing them. She had to be at least a 36E.
Chenyang knew this must be Li Qiang’s mother.
Gazing at her voluptuous and seductive figure, and imagining living here with both her and Lin Xiaowei, a wicked heat immediately surged up from his lower abdomen.
