Chapter 120
In An Xiaoqing’s eyes, Chenyang was just a stranger.
The very thought of asking a stranger to help remove the object stuck inside her was mortifying.
But if she asked Chenyang for help, he would be the only one to laugh at her.
If she asked a colleague, however, she would lose face in front of the entire hospital and become a complete laughingstock.
Comparing the two, An Xiaoqing would much rather be humiliated in front of Chenyang alone.
Besides, it was Chenyang’s sudden intrusion that had caused the object to get stuck in the first place.
As the culprit, he had every reason to stay, help, and keep this a secret!
With her mind made up, An Xiaoqing urged, "Don’t just stand there. Since you’re here to interview for a doctor position, you must have a way to help. Hurry up and help me."
Chenyang asked, completely baffled, "Help you with what?"
"Is there any point in playing dumb now?"
"I’m not pretending! I really don’t know what you want me to help you with!"
"You..." An Xiaoqing’s pretty face turned cold. "What? You have the nerve to do it but not take responsibility? You stared at me for so long, saw everything you should and shouldn’t have, and now you’re claiming you don’t know what I want you to do? Are you even a man?"
Chenyang had indeed seen something he shouldn’t have, but it was only a fleeting glimpse. He hadn’t even gotten a good look before An Xiaoqing had pulled her skirt back down.
If he had to say he saw anything clearly, it would only be her full breasts.
Now that An Xiaoqing was asking for help, it surely wasn’t for him to grope her breasts or try to comfort her.
’Even if that were the case, when you’re asking for help, shouldn’t you at least show a better attitude?’
But An Xiaoqing’s tone was completely imperious.
Thoroughly annoyed, Chenyang immediately retorted, "First of all, I wasn’t peeping. I knocked, and when no one answered, I was going to either keep waiting or leave. But your colleague told me you were inside working on attendance reports and might not have heard. They said I could come straight in if it was urgent.
"Second, you had already pulled your skirt down by the time I walked over. If you insist I saw something, then all I can say is that I saw your chest. But you can’t blame me for that. It’s not like I was trying to look. You were the one doing... that sort of thing on the sly during work hours, and you’re the one who ended up exposed.
"And finally, I am a man. Just not the effeminate type you seem to like. I’m a perfectly normal, masculine man!"
An Xiaoqing was stunned for a moment.
She clearly hadn’t expected this guy, Chenyang, to dare speak to her like that after walking in on her.
But his words also caused a blazing fury to erupt across her pretty face.
"You barge in here, see me exposed, and then say I can’t blame you? What, are you saying I shamelessly showed myself to you on purpose?"
"Well, wasn’t it? If I had come in to find you properly dressed and ready to discuss work, would I have seen anything?"
"I..." An Xiaoqing’s face suddenly flushed, and she bit her lip. "Fine, we’ll say that part isn’t your fault... But what did you mean by that last remark? Since when do I like effeminate men?"
Chenyang shrugged. "You don’t?"
"Like hell I do! I fucking despise effeminate men more than anything!"
As she cursed, An Xiaoqing’s eyes suddenly narrowed. The topic of effeminate men was a rather niche one.
The reason she despised them so much was because of the male orderly she’d hired yesterday. He looked manly enough, but in reality, he was so prissy it gave her the creeps.
She had thrown a massive fit about it yesterday, and plenty of people at the hospital had seen and heard her. So, everyone should have known she couldn’t stand effeminate men.
So how could Chenyang, a man she’d never met before, suddenly bring this up and even claim she liked them?
"Who told you I like effeminate men?"
"I can’t say."
"Tell me! I’m ordering you to tell me right now!"
Seeing An Xiaoqing standing there with her hands on her hips and an icy glare, Chenyang suddenly sneered. "I’m not your subordinate, and I’m not your boy-toy. What gives you the right to order me around?"
"I..."
An Xiaoqing was at a loss for words, but then, as if realizing something, she said, "Actually, even if you don’t tell me, I think I know. It must have been one of the nurses, wasn’t it? And she probably told you that acting effeminate in front of me would make it easier to pass the interview, right?"
Chenyang hadn’t said anything because he didn’t want to be a snitch.
But after hearing what An Xiaoqing said, he suddenly realized something was off.
He frowned slightly. "You don’t like effeminate men?"
"Of course not!" An Xiaoqing stood up and stared directly at Chenyang. "The entire hospital knows I detest effeminate men, but that nurse told you I like them, and even had you act that way to meet me. She wasn’t just trying to disgust me; she was setting you up. Do you really need to cover for someone like that?"
"I don’t know the two nurses’ names. I just ran into them at the information desk."
"What else did they say?"
"That you’re a lesbian, that you like effeminate men, and that you also like all sorts of condoms."
"So... you actually bought condoms?!"
