The thought of having both Xiaoyun and Wang Lili serve him at once made Chenyang incredibly aroused, and he was filled with intense anticipation for that moment.
Aside from that, however, he was also a bit taken aback.
Wang Lili’s behavior had far exceeded his expectations.
Chenyang knew Wang Lili was wanton to the core.
But this was their first time, after all.
And at the beginning, Wang Lili hadn’t just been resistant; she had been utterly disgusted by him.

This completely unexpected move had caught Chenyang off guard.

The sudden commotion jolted the two of them, who had just been getting into it, back to their senses.
Wang Lili scrambled to her feet. As she frantically pulled on her clothes, she bit her lip and muttered, "I’m screwed. I’m going to lose my bonus."
Chenyang frowned. "They’re yelling for medical staff outside. What’s that got to do with your bonus?"
"The Inpatient Department has a rule: all staff on duty, doctors and nurses alike, have to respond to a patient’s call for help immediately. Normally, they just press the call bell by the bed. People only start shouting in the hallway if no one answers the bell.
"A few days ago, a nurse dozed off and missed the call bell. The patient’s family started shouting, which woke up other patients and led to a bunch of complaints. The very next day, Director Liu Qian held a meeting and announced that if anyone fails to answer a call bell and it results in someone shouting in the hallway, they’ll lose their bonus."
Wang Lili was so worried about her bonus that she wished she could just fly out to the person shouting in the hall.
But sometimes, the more you rush, the more things go wrong.
After struggling to fasten her bra and pull on her top, she found she couldn’t get her thong on at all. It was soaking wet and twisted into a rope.
Seeing her on the verge of tears with frustration, Chenyang said helplessly, "Don’t panic. The shouting’s already been done. You can’t stuff the words back in his mouth even if you run out there now. Besides, you’re not the only nurse on duty. The others have probably already gone to check."
Wang Lili shook her head. "There are three nurses on duty today. One went with Director Liu to the ER, and the other took sudden leave to go catch her husband cheating."
"Catching him cheating?"
"Yeah. Right as I was bringing you to the storage room, her friend called and said she saw her husband going into a hotel with another woman. She didn’t have time to find someone to cover her shift, so she just took emergency leave."
After a few more failed attempts, Wang Lili gave up, stuffed the thong under the bed, and pulled on her uniform pants, speaking rapidly, "None of that matters. The important thing is, I’m the only nurse on duty right now,
"and in all likelihood, I’m the only medical personnel in the entire department! I have to get over there right now."
"What about the attending physician?"
"Director Liu is on duty today, but she went to the ER for a consult. You knew that."
Chenyang knew Director Liu had gone to the ER, but he hadn’t realized she was the attending physician for the shift.
After a brief pause, he also started dressing quickly. "I’ll go with you. If the patient is really in critical condition, one nurse won’t be able to handle it."
"Oh, that’s great! With you there to help, Master, I won’t be so panicked."
"Oh? Aren’t you afraid my skills aren’t up to snuff? What if I can’t save the patient and you get dragged into the mess?"
Wang Lili shook her head. "I don’t know how skilled you are, but the mere fact that you were personally recommended for a position here by Director Liu Yun means your skills can’t possibly be mediocre."
Chenyang smiled. "So, Liu Yun carries a lot of weight in your eyes, huh?"
"Of course! She’s the only director of two departments in the entire City Hospital! She’s in her early thirties and already in charge of the two most important departments. Not only are her medical skills exquisite, but every single apprentice she’s trained is top-notch.
"It’s no exaggeration to say that if she ever decided to leave because she was unhappy, at least half the hospital would follow her.
"For a woman to be so brilliant that most attending physicians look up to her, and so formidable that even the hospital presidents are wary of her... if this were ancient times, she’d be an empress, no question about it."
