The Godsfall Chronicles

Chapter 1: Wilderness

The fierce sun is like a greedy tyrant, unscrupulously wielding hot power, wildly plundering the only moisture in the desert, infinite yellow sand spreading in a desperate manner, nothing but each other, hoping endlessly, devouring all living colors, rolling hot air streams sweeping up the dust of the sun, chaos in everything in the world, and the sky and the earth merging in colour.

The ruins are piled up in stacked mountains like tens of thousands of iron and steel dinosaurs buried in the desert revealing their backs and eroding for a long time, most of which are already rusty and full of eyelids breaking apart the frames of the building without a word of glory.

Thousands of years ago, it was still a city.

Thousands of years later, it was ruined.

Fifty years ago, it became a camp for waste-pickers.

Who remembers that there was luxury, drunkenness, extreme prosperity?

Who remembers the density of tall buildings, the weaving of nuclear suspended cars, the air carrier platoon matrix?

Who remembers that the infinite desert used to be a vast ocean called the Atlantic Ocean, with beautiful artificial islands scattered like pearls and countless undersea cities like star chess cloth?

Who remembers that there was an ancient and real name here a long time ago, but it's now forever submerged in a long river of time, completely forgotten - New York!
