Chapter 197 - 108: Can a 300-Month-Old Baby Sign Up? (Part 2)
Sure enough, there’s strength in numbers!
With the most pressing issue temporarily resolved, Su Chen went back to handling the reception arrangements for the event in half a month.
「Meanwhile, at the Mechanical Kindergarten.」
Wang Xiaoyi had just finished teaching a class and returned to the office, rubbing her back.
"So tiring! Today’s life Skills lesson was about learning to use kitchen utensils. The kids did a great job!"
"Your class has already started on that? You’re moving fast."
Wang Xiaoyi leaned back in her chair, taking a sip of water. "Anyone want to go to Meiweilai Company for lunch? I had their breakfast this morning, and it was super delicious!"
"If Teacher Wang says it’s delicious, then it must be," another teacher teased.
Although Wang Xiaoyi didn’t like to eat out with them, she often shared restaurant recommendations, and her suggestions were always met with everyone’s unanimous approval.
"I just wonder about the price. If it’s expensive, we can only go once in a while," the female teacher across from her mused.
Their salaries as kindergarten teachers weren’t high. The trade-off was job stability, so eating out was an occasional treat.
As they were all chatting idly, the guard came in with something.
"A letter from the company next door. It’s not addressed to anyone specific, just says it’s a letter for all the teachers at the Mechanical Kindergarten."
After putting the letter down, Master Weimen left.
Wang Xiaoyi picked up the letter. "A Letter to All Teachers of the Mechanical Kindergarten?"
"’In order to fulfill our social responsibility and to thank our dedicated educators for their contributions, our company has decided, after a meeting...’"
"’All teachers of the Mechanical Kindergarten may dine for free in our company’s second-floor cafeteria (including breakfast, lunch, and dinner), effective immediately.’"
"’Any teachers who wish to dine should contact Ling Shuyu, the coordinator for our second-floor dining program, to register.’"
Ling Shuyu’s contact information was attached at the end of the letter.
The moment Wang Xiaoyi finished reading, the other teachers in the office shot to their feet.
"Free food?"
"Three free meals a day?"
"Whoa, this company is awesome! Giving us teachers free food? Don’t tell me it’s owned by a relative of one of the school leaders, is it?"
Sometimes the school would give the teachers some benefits, like vouchers for birthday cakes, but when they went to redeem them, they’d find they could be used to buy anything *but* a cake.
These were usually businesses with connections, but the teachers didn’t really mind. Free stuff was free stuff, after all.
"It’s probably not a business with connections," an older teacher analyzed, holding her water cup. "If it were, what would happen to our own kitchen staff?"
"What’s the point of all this talk? Let’s just sign up and go check it out at lunchtime. We can even take the school bus."
Wang Xiaoyi held up her phone. "Alright, I’m signing everyone up then!"
’Others might not know about the food at Delicious, but she knew perfectly well. It was the kind of food that could bring back that wonderful reaction she hadn’t had in three years!’
Besides, even without this sudden letter, Wang Xiaoyi had already decided to go to Delicious at least once a day to get back on track with her personal challenge!
’Now with a perk like this, she could save some money.’
’It’d be a crime not to eat for free!’
Amidst the teachers’ eager anticipation, the morning passed quickly.
During that time, Wang Xiaoyi even ran to the kitchen to let the head chef know that the teachers from her office wouldn’t be eating lunch there today.
The head chef was only surprised for a moment before breaking into a happy smile.
’Fewer people to cook for meant much less work for him.’
At twelve noon, He Shuting and Zhang Li were once again downstairs to receive the kindergarten children.
’I’ll soon find out if the boss’s plan actually worked.’
Zhang Li clasped her hands in front of her chest. "I’m so sorry, Sister Shuting. I should have hidden that Wanzi yesterday. Sigh, it made you miss lunch. Why didn’t you tell me?"
He Shuting gently pinched Zhang Li’s cheek. "Thank you! Oh, by the way, I brought some chocolate for you from home today. I put it in your drawer, so remember to eat it this afternoon, okay?"
"Thanks~"
The school bus pulled over to the side of the road. He Shuting went to the entrance, ready to welcome the children as she had the day before.
However, the first person to get off was a woman she hadn’t seen before, who must have been one of the kindergarten teachers.
The teacher stood by the door, then turned and bellowed into the bus, "Everyone, get off the bus and line up now! I want you all in neat rows!"
Then, several other teachers also got off the bus. They divided all the children into groups of ten on the roadside, making ten teams in total. Each teacher took charge of one team. "Teacher He, is this okay?" one of them asked.
He Shuting was ecstatic. ’This is amazing!’
The children had been well-behaved yesterday, too, but with around a hundred of them, there were bound to be a few mischievous ones. Just getting them from here to the second floor had worn her out.
But now? He Shuting didn’t even have to lift a finger; the teachers had already organized everyone perfectly.
"Yes, yes, this way please, teachers."
The two of them led the way, guiding everyone into the stairwell.
After returning to the second floor, just as He Shuting was about to tell everyone to sit down and eat, she saw the teachers already directing the children.
"Class One, sit in this row. Over here is for Class Two..."
The ten small teams were separated by class in a perfectly orderly fashion. And with the teachers present, the little ones, who had been so chaotic and noisy before, were all sitting quietly in their seats.
Holy cow!
This maneuver left Bai Xiaobo, Zhang Li, and Liu Shengnan, who were all preparing to serve the food, completely dumbfounded.
"No wonder they’re teachers. They’re amazing! They got this bunch of little rascals to behave with just a few words!"
