The Greatest Genius Alchemist of All Time Want to Retire

Episode 57 Let's Go To Marie's House

"Well, here we are. This is my castle!

It was Marie's house that came. But it's too normal to call it a castle. Well, it must be metaphorical.

"Well, can I get you some tea?"

Once inside, it was wider than I thought, with a table and chairs for four in the center. The three of us will wait for Marie's cup of tea... but what did she come for? It was black juice.

"... black?

"It's black."

"That's black."

Same reaction for all three. But Marie doesn't give a shit, so she suggests drinking.

"Sa! Try it!

……

We tried to drink in silence. Then the aromatic aroma and faint sweetness spreads in the mouth. What the hell is this...? I feel like the best thing I've ever had to drink.

"Ha ha!! Yummy!? That's the ultimate dish I've finally been able to produce in years of research! The ingredients are no secret! Ha ha!

I'm proud to see Marie like that, and oh... I recognise that this guy is a little different. But for some reason I feel like I'm looking at myself, and I feel complicated...

"Give it to me. So, what can I do for you? You want me to come to the labyrinth again, Rafe?"

"That's right. This is the Fifth Labyrinth."

"Hmm. Speaking of the Fifth Labyrinth, it's an ice labyrinth... so what about inside?

"I can't get in."

"... Leviataine, but you said no?

"Ah. It's inhibited by thick ice. Even Leviataine was impossible to destroy."

"I see… it may not be alchemy"

I was remembering the Sixth Labyrinth when I heard the words. That's similar to alchemy, but magic, another technique. Maybe what Marie is referring to is magic.

"... magic, is it?

"Huh. Does El know, about magic?"

"No, I don't know the details. But I'm sure it exists."

"Where did you see that?

"Deepest part of the Sixth Labyrinth. The ancient spider there, Enchanted Spider, was using magic."

"Hmm. So, how did you know it was magic?

"The use of alchemy always requires the primary material Prima Materia. My idiosyncratic ability, Dunamis, senses the first material, PrimaMateria, and alchemy can understand all its composition... but that wasn't the first material, PrimaMateria."

"... the same as the Third Labyrinth? So much so."

Same as the Third Labyrinth. So you're saying you used to ask Rafe, that Kimyra used magic too?

"Did Kimyra, who was in the Third Labyrinth, also use magic?

"Hmm? Ah... are you hearing this from Leif? That's right. Even when I sensed it, I didn't use the first material, PrimaMateria. Probably magic using the zero mass Acacial Materials. No, magic is really convenient, unlike alchemy. I don't even need an alchemy formation or anything like that in a complete sense. In other words, the components are simple everywhere. I'm jealous of that... but we're replicating it because of the lost technology."

……

I didn't dare touch the zero mass "Acacial Materials". Conversation with the man I met in that daydream. I haven't told anyone that yet. It may be accurate to say that it's too funny to tell... but I was intuitively avoiding it. Because that's what leads to my roots.

And as I kept my mouth shut, Fey's one asked Marie.

"Um, what's the zero mass" acacic material "? I've never heard that before..."

"Normal alchemists don't know. Zero material" Acacial Materials "is used when using magic. You can also think of it as a relative of the first material Prima Materia. Alchemy requires the first material, Prima Materia, to be denatured using the smelting formation. In the diagram, this is what it looks like."

That's what Marie wrote down in the notebook she brought.

The first material "Prima Materia" - Images of the mind - Magic - Smelting formation - Smelting.

"But here's what magic does"

Zero Material "Acacic Materials" Magic.

"What, magic doesn't require the image or magic of the mind?

"No, technically not. The zero material" Acacic Materials "contains everything. In other words, the zero mass Acacial Materials itself is the whole process in alchemy. Then it occurs abnormally fast. Because that Kimyra wasn't normal either... without my analytical and judgmental skills, and genius skills, Rafe would be dead."

That's what Marie says. I'm flattered by your knowledge. I hadn't found that definitive a difference between alchemy and magic. But Marie speaks as though it were natural. I thought her rumors were more correct than I expected.

"Where did Marie get that knowledge?

"Hmm? It says a lot about magic in this book."

It was an old fashioned book that I brought that way. I can assume it's something that's been around for quite some time.

"It's a letter I've never seen..."

"Right? Even so, I can't read it all either. There are places with slightly the same letters as modern times. I've managed to read it from there."

"Where the hell is this?

"In the Third Labyrinth. It was in the deepest part of the world."

"... is it the same as the Sixth Labyrinth"

When I heard Marie speak, I thought. Maybe the labyrinth has its own books about magic.

With that in mind, we went further.
