Chapter 74: Lana’s In Charge!
The boy now had red marks travelling across his face and pulsing like veins, and the moment the minotaur saw the markings, a twisted smile spread across his face, and he spread his hands out and spoke to the congregation!
"The heavens have found favour with us! They have found us worthy to be the paragons of the New Age, and now we shall all bear witness to the Dawn of Ragnarok!"

The chanting started up again, and the minotaur looked up at the full moon above him with a wide, excited smile! For decades, the humans have tormented them, and they have suffered in silence! But it wouldn’t be long anymore! All the traitors and enemies that laughed at them would all suffer for their sins! They would soon recreate the paradise that had been promised to them! They would soon see the Dawn of a New Age of Demihumans!

"Master Percy! Madam Rita! Wake up!"
Lana’s loud voice echoed through the library, and a low groan came from the bed in Percy’s room! Lana knocked again, and Rita let out a long sigh as her eyes fluttered open! Rita was sleeping naked in Percy’s bed, and her long white hair was scattered around her like a river of snow! Rita turned to her side, and she felt a smile grow on her face as she saw Percy’s handsome face sleeping right beside her! Percy had stayed up very late last night doing research again, and Rita could tell that he was absolutely exhausted!
Rita ran her hand over Percy’s cheek, and she smiled as he mumbled something inaudible and turned around to lie on his back! Rita’s smile widened as she appreciated Percy’s features, but the peaceful moment was broken as another heavy knock echoed through the room!
"Madam Rita! It’s almost time to open the library!"
Lana spoke up loudly again, and Rita let out a small sigh as she was forced to finally get off the bed! Rita was completely naked under the covers, so her pale white skin seemed to shine under the glow of the morning sun, and Rita took one of the sheets on the bed and used it to cover herself before walking up to the door and opening it!
"Good Morning, Madam Rita!"
Lana saluted excitedly once Rita opened the door, and Rita smiled at the young girl and patted her head.
"You can open the doors today, Lana. We’ll come join you once we get ready."
Lana’s eyes lit up once she heard that! This was the first time Rita would allow her to open the library on her own! Lana immediately saluted again, and she took off with an excited air around her! Rita felt a little worry creeping into her heart when Rita saw how excited Lana was, and Rita wondered if it was really a good idea to leave Lana in charge like this. But Rita wanted to spend more time with Percy before they had to go out to face all those children, so Rita decided that it would be fine!
Rita went back inside, and she looked around at all the rune paper scattered on the floor before she smiled at Percy’s sleeping figure. It had been a month since the Time Paradox incidents happened, and things had returned to normal in the library. Rita had done her best to forget all about the vampires as well as her family in Varina. Even the fact that the Ashton would probably eradicate the Pastoni in the very near future didn’t move Rita at all! As far as Rita was concerned, none of that was her business anymore since she was no longer a part of that family!
Rita waved her hand and activated a spell that gathered all the papers on the floor together into one pile that she put on the desk at the side. The clothes that they had thrown off last night also moved away and were folded neatly before Rita finally moved towards Percy! Rita sat on the edge of the bed while holding the sheet around her chest, and she gently moved Percy’s hair out of his face.
"Hey, baby. It’s time to wake up."
Rita’s soft voice floated through the room, and Percy scrunched up his face a little before he finally grunted as he opened his eyes. Percy looked over at Rita, and he smiled sleepily when he saw her grinning down at him.
"Morning, babe."
Rita’s face grew red when she heard Percy’s rough voice! They had been together for more than a decade by now, but Rita didn’t think she would ever get used to seeing Percy be so vulnerable around her! Rita leaned down to kiss Percy softly, and Percy put his hand around Rita’s waist and pulled her down so she was lying on top of him! Rita’s soft breasts pressed against Percy’s chest, and Rita yelped as Percy suddenly grabbed her ass and squeezed it through the blanket!
Rita quickly pulled back and hit Percy’s chest with a blush!
"You’re such a pervert!"
Percy just chuckled, and he gave Rita another quick kiss before he said:
"I thought I heard Lana’s voice earlier?"
Rita hummed as she rested her chin on Percy’s chest, and Rita told Percy that Lana had been here to wake them up!
"I told her to open the library for us today, and we’ll come join her soon."
Percy couldn’t help but laugh when he heard this! Lana was going to wreck that library to pieces if they weren’t watching her! Lana was a very diligent worker, but Percy couldn’t say that she was the best at organizing or guiding students! If Percy or Rita weren’t here to keep an eye on her, then she would definitely cause some trouble soon.
"I guess we better get up then."
Percy said this with a grumble, and Rita hummed in agreement. But Rita didn’t move just yet. Instead, she asked:
"What have you been working on recently? I saw you were drawing more runes."
Percy nodded sleepily, and he told Rita that it was because of the incident that happened last month.
"The vampires that appeared through the Time door were able to bypass our magical security too easily. I forgot to account for time-based displacements in the anti-magic protective rune I put on the building, so I’m trying to make adjustments so it doesn’t happen again."
Rita was shocked! Percy was trying to create a time-based anti-dimensional rune!? Rita knew that time runes were some of the most complex runes to handle. The Chronos Medallion was a very unique artefact because of its ability to manipulate time, but as far as Rita knew, the Chronos Medallion was the only time-based artefact in existence because of how difficult it was to create something like that! If Percy was creating a rune to block people from moving through time into the library, then the complexity would be on the same level as trying to counter the Chronos Medallion itself!
"Are you sure you’re not pushing yourself too hard? Are you getting enough rest?"
Rita immediately became very worried for Percy once she knew exactly what he was doing! In the past month, Percy had been spending almost every night in his research lab, and even though Rita was doing her best to make sure he was eating and resting properly, Rita still didn’t think that Percy was getting enough rest! Percy just smiled, and he patted Rita on the head and said that he was fine! Percy enjoyed doing this, so why would he feel tired at all?
"Come on, let’s get up there before Lana gives a student one of our dark magic books."
