Chapter 923: The Might of the Demon Empress
Boom!
Malverna slammed the man wearing the red demon mask into the ground.
"Cough!"
The man coughed repeatedly, clutching his aching stomach.
"Damn it..." he growled, glaring at Malverna high in the sky with pure hatred.
"How dare you, you lowly creature, attack me, the great messenger of Lucifer!?" he roared.
Boom!
A dark red light erupted from his body, piercing through the black clouds and casting an even darker shadow over the sky.
Malverna narrowed her eyes warily. She could sense the man’s power. It was strong enough to injure her.
Whoosh!
Lucifer shot forward like lightning and appeared right in front of her. He raised his fist and punched toward her face.
Bang!
Malverna blocked the attack by crossing her arms, but the impact sent her flying a kilometer away.
Before she could regain her balance, Lucifer appeared behind her like a ghost.
He spun around and kicked her in the back.
Bang!
Malverna plummeted toward the ground and crashed into it with a thunderous boom.
The ground beneath her shattered on impact, sending chunks of earth flying as dust and smoke filled the area.
When the dust finally cleared, Lucifer expected to see Malverna lying on the ground.
Instead, she was still standing, looking as arrogant and domineering as ever.
"Is that all you’ve got? How pathetic."
She sneered and dusted off the front of her clothes.
Lucifer narrowed his eyes and stared warily at Malverna.
He knew that the subordinate of the Singularity of Chaos was extremely powerful, but Malverna had far exceeded his expectations.
"Don’t get too cocky just yet, you weakling! I haven’t even unleashed my true power yet."
He raised his right hand high. A three-meter-wide blue fireball appeared above his palm.
The temperature around him skyrocketed.
With a smirk on his face, he hurled the fireball toward Malverna.
"Die!"
Whoosh!
Seeing the attack, Malverna merely smiled and snapped her fingers.
The fireball came to an immediate halt. The next second, it shrank to the size of a palm before suddenly exploding.
"W-What!? How... is that even possible!?" Lucifer exclaimed in horror.
Malverna tossed her hair back.
"If that’s all you’ve got, then you chose the wrong person to fight!"
Malverna vanished from where she stood and reappeared right behind him.
Before Lucifer could react, she slammed her fist into his back.
Bang!
His body shot through the air like a falling meteor before crashing into the ground.
Malverna wasn’t about to let him catch his breath. She vanished again and reappeared right behind him.
Just as she was about to strike his neck, Lucifer slammed his palm against the ground, using the force to launch his body two meters into the air.
Malverna’s attack whizzed past him.
Lucifer spun around and swung his heel toward her.
But it was as if Malverna had already anticipated his move. Her body dissolved into particles and vanished into thin air, only to reappear several meters away.
Lucifer clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"You’re as nimble as a cockroach," he mocked.
Malverna gave him a small smirk.
"So are you."
The two stared at each other for a few seconds before suddenly vanishing from where they stood and reappearing in the center, each throwing a punch.
Boom!
The air exploded as their fists collided. Both of them stumbled back a few steps.
Lucifer crouched low before darting toward her. He spun horizontally and aimed a kick at her left temple.
Malverna raised her hand and blocked the kick.
She clenched her left fist and slammed it into Lucifer’s stomach.
Anticipating the attack, Lucifer clenched his left fist and punched toward the ground.
Boom!
A fireball erupted from his fist and exploded, propelling his body more than a meter into the air and causing Malverna’s punch to miss.
The two then transformed into beams of light and collided again before engaging in a high-speed chase.
The battlefield was a mess as the two of them fought.
They kept throwing attacks at each other, neither of them willing to back down.
However, it was clear that Lucifer was at a disadvantage in close combat.
Gradually, Malverna’s attacks became fiercer and faster, to the point that Lucifer could barely keep up with her movements.
"Damn it—"
Bang!
Malverna’s punch landed squarely in Lucifer’s stomach, sending him flying into the sky like a cannonball.
But Malverna wasn’t about to let it end there. She pulled her right leg back, raised her left hand high, and closed her eyes.
"Burn forth, O wrath of the ancient flame."
"By the eternal flame, let the heavens burn."
"Awaken from thy slumber, Flame of Destruction."
As she recited the three ancient incantations, an astonishing phenomenon unfolded in the dark, lightning-filled sky.
Three red magic circles, each ten meters in diameter, appeared around Lucifer as he continued flying through the air.
From the magic circle on his right, a giant seven-meter-tall fire dragon emerged. It spread its magnificent wings and let out a terrifying roar.
Meanwhile, a fiery unicorn stepped out of the magic circle on his left, its beautiful horn glowing brightly.
A massive fire tiger emerged from the final magic circle.
The three creatures quickly surrounded Lucifer.
Seeing the three fire monsters, Lucifer’s eyes widened in shock.
He was about to move his hands when a rope of fire suddenly appeared and bound both of his arms.
He looked down and saw Malverna grinning at him.
"You bitch! I—"
Boom!
The three fire monsters lunged at Lucifer at the same time, engulfing him in a massive explosion.
Malverna raised her tightly clenched fist with a satisfied smile.
"How dare you mess with me, the Demon Empress? That’s your punishment!" she snorted coldly.
She calmly watched the fiery explosion above.
Being hit by monsters that massive should have been enough to inflict severe injuries on Lucifer.
If possible, she wanted that man dead.
A few minutes later, the battle finally came to an end.
The rain, which had stopped due to the sudden rise in temperature, began falling again.
Boom!
Lucifer’s charred body fell from the sky and crashed into the ground. White smoke billowed from his body.
Malverna slowly walked toward him and stared down at him indifferently.
"Are you dead yet? If you are, then you’ve really disappointed me," Malverna sneered.
Just as she was certain that he was dead, a cold voice suddenly came from Lucifer’s body.
"Heh... You’re much stronger than before, Malverna, Demon Empress of the Demon Race. Was it the Singularity of Chaos that made you this strong?"
Malverna’s eyes widened.
Before she could react, the space around her suddenly froze, as if time itself had come to a standstill.
She couldn’t move her body at all.
"...Spatial power!?"
