Chapter 1245: Ghost Catching (Part 2)
The person with the most suspicion now isn’t Lin Tian, but DS. Everyone’s gaze is on him, but when he talks about checking the surveillance footage, no one objects.
Following Zhang Ya’Er’s instructions, someone soon brings over a laptop and a thirty-four-inch display to the gambling table, which shows surveillance videos from four angles, capturing DS clearly from the front, back, left, and right.
Zhang Ya’Er zooms in on the video capturing DS’s front, displaying his every move for everyone to see. His actions are flawless, revealing nothing. Soon, the video moves to the round with the diamond J, where he also shows no flaw.
Suddenly, Lin Tian shouted, "Stop!"
The video is paused, everyone watching him with confusion, not understanding his intentions. There is no flaw in DS’s actions on the surveillance video.
Ignoring everyone, Lin Tian says to Zhang Ya’Er, "Rewind thirty seconds, show a close-up of Mrs. Liu, and slow down the speed to half!"
Mrs. Liu stares at Lin Tian, clueless about his intent. He clearly remembers doing nothing in the previous round, just winning a little by luck.
Zhang Ya’Er, though puzzled, follows Lin Tian’s request.
The video is slowed to half-speed, making all movements remarkably clear. In the video, Mrs. Liu is sitting upright in her chair, hands covering her cards, rubbing them. This is a very usual gesture, even Lin Tian had done it before.
Suddenly, Mrs. Liu lowers her hand holding the cards underneath the table, into a blind spot of the surveillance, capturing nothing.
Seeing this, Mrs. Liu’s face turns pale. A sense of dread washes over him, fearing Lin Tian might frame him, leading everyone to believe the lie as truth!
"Bring up the side view of the surveillance, I want to see what his hand is doing under the table!" Lin Tian says deeply.
Zhang Ya’Er rolls her eyes at Lin Tian, annoyed by his commanding tone. Yet, she complies and switches views.
This is the surveillance from Mrs. Liu’s right side, showing limited information, just a gesture of clutching the cards, the rest is unclear.
"Stop!"
Lin Tian calls out again.
After pausing the video, Lin Tian steps forward, pointing at the screen and questions Mrs. Liu, "Mrs. Liu, right? Now, explain what you’re doing here?"
"What do you mean, doing what? I’m rubbing the cards, can’t you see? What’s the big deal?"
Mrs. Liu’s face is full of displeasure, his tone aggressive, he almost wants to rush up and punch Lin Tian.
"Rubbing cards? You’re full of crap!" Shouting loudly, Lin Tian then turns to the crowd, "Take a good look. Is he rubbing cards? This guy is clearly switching cards from his sleeve! Look at how skilled he is, definitely a seasoned cheat."
"I didn’t!" Mrs. Liu loudly protested.
Unfortunately, many things in the world aren’t settled by shouting. The louder he becomes, the more agitated he gets, indicating to outsiders an act of guilt.
Indeed, the surveillance action indeed looks like exchanging cards from his sleeve.
"This is defamation, I didn’t do it!" Mrs. Liu points at the screen. "Just this one action, lots of people do that! Why accuse me of cheating? Is there footage catching me switching cards? I refuse this unfair charge!"
Mrs. Liu was enraged, he truly was just rubbing the cards!
"Heh, you’re quite clever, already selected the blind spots of the surveillance, intentionally making your actions discreet. How could changing cards be captured in those angles?" Lin Tian mocks.
Mrs. Liu knows he can’t explain away this ambiguous footage, as many have already sided with Lin Tian’s accusation. What else can he do but to deny, "Lin Tian’s the one cheating, he’s merely redirecting blame to me. Don’t trust him!"
"Hey, whether it’s shifting blame or not, a body search would clear things up, right?" someone from the crowd suggests.
"Yes! Body search!"
This idea is quickly accepted by everyone.
In this place, under these circumstances, personal privacy rights are utterly ignored. To prove his innocence, Mrs. Liu has no choice but to endure this!
Lin Tian smirked at Mrs. Liu and said, "Aren’t you claiming I shifted the blame onto you? Now’s your chance, aren’t you going to clear your name?"
Seeing Lin Tian’s wicked grin, Mrs. Liu gritted his teeth in anger.
He really had cards hidden on him. If he hadn’t honed some card skills, how could he dare gamble big with people like Lin Tian? Now there’s no way he’d let them search him, or else he’d be metaphorically deep in trouble.
Seeing Mrs. Liu’s hesitance, Lin Tian laughed again, "What? Scared?"
"It’s not that I’m scared, it’s that I refuse! I’m righteous and not afraid of shadows, I haven’t cheated, why should I let you search? Don’t I have dignity?!" Mrs. Liu responded sternly.
"Hey, you talk nicely, but your refusal won’t help. Let me assist you."
With that, Lin Tian stepped swiftly toward Mrs. Liu.
This sudden move startled Mrs. Liu, his face changed dramatically as he shouted, "Get lost, don’t touch me!"
Meanwhile, his eyes darted about, seeking help from the surrounding spectators, hoping someone would aid him.
Unfortunately, he was mistaken. In such situations, people merely watched coldly; no one stepped forward to help.
In desperation, Mrs. Liu considered resistance, but how could he be a match for Lin Tian? Lin Tian grabbed his arms with one hand, unzipped his jacket, revealing the inner side. Then Lin Tian released his grip.
But it wasn’t over, Lin Tian pulled at his sleeves and spun him around. Taking advantage of the moment, Lin Tian jerked the sleeves off, removing the whole jacket.
This swift series of fluid gestures is completed in three seconds. Mrs. Liu isn’t aware of what happened, his jacket already off, and the spectators praised the impressive skill!
At this moment, Lin Tian grabs the collar of the jacket with both hands and gives it a shake. With a ’swish’, several playing cards fall out of the jacket!
