"I..."

The pockmarked man’s brain was spinning fast, but he still couldn’t come up with any good idea. All he could do was force a grin and say, "This counts as a mistake on our arcade’s part, we..."

He hadn’t finished when Lin Tian waved his hand and cut him off, "Save the useless crap. I’m just asking you this: the money I just won, can I take it or not?"

The pockmarked man really wanted to say no, but after everything that had just happened, seeing the looks and the mood of the people around, he could only grit his teeth and say, "I need to ask our boss."

The amount was too big; he really couldn’t make that call himself.

"Alright, go ask. I’ll play a bit more." Lin Tian waved his hand, not taking this guy seriously at all.

"Oh no, please don’t, I’ll call right now, won’t take long. Just a moment." The pockmarked man was afraid Lin Tian would keep winning, so he hurriedly pulled out his phone in a panic and dialed. He didn’t expect the other side to already know what had happened in the arcade. Before he could even ask, the other party replied, "Give him the money. Just treat it like tossing some change to a beggar!"

The tone was sour and the words were as few as possible; as soon as that was said, the call was directly hung up.

But the pockmarked man’s taut nerves finally relaxed; his whole chest loosened up, like he’d had a stomachache all day and finally found a toilet.

He was afraid that if he said no, someone would definitely make trouble. With this many people gambling here, if they all started a scene, the mess wouldn’t just be small, and in the end the one who’d suffer would definitely be him!

"You can take that money." The pockmarked man added, "But if you want to keep playing, you’ll have to switch to other machines. These two... need maintenance."

Lin Tian had already guessed this outcome long ago and didn’t find it surprising. He just said, "I’m in a bad mood now, don’t feel like playing. Just cash it out for me."

Black lines practically popped out on the pockmarked man’s forehead; he was seething inside. You just picked up that much money for nothing and you’re in a bad mood? Why don’t you just ascend to heaven?

Of course, he didn’t dare say that out loud. He could only bob his head and agree obsequiously.

Suddenly, Lin Tian asked another question: "You guys don’t take a cut here, right? Like ten percent off the top or something."

The pockmarked man shook his head again and again, smiling as he said, "No, no, this is an arcade, we don’t do that kind of rake."

"Good then." Lin Tian nodded in satisfaction, then casually added, "Oh yeah, try smiling less in future. It’s pretty ugly."

"..."

...

The haul for Lin Tian and Wu Yong in that toy city just now was a total of more than eighty-six point seven million. Adding their previous take from that underground gambling den, they’d racked up about one hundred and thirty million already. You could say the results were pretty damn impressive.

Making one hundred and thirty million had only taken them a few hours, which is exactly why people say gambling is so addictive.

LuuYong rubbed his hands and asked, "We won that much today, so tonight we can finally have a proper feast, right? I’ve been eating crap in the hospital these days."

The money they’d won had basically nothing to do with LuuYong, so he wasn’t getting much of a cut, but asking for one good meal was still no problem.

Wu Yong slapped him on the shoulder and laughed, "Of course, no problem. Order whatever you want! Lin Tian’s buying!"

"It is about dinner time. Let’s grab something casual, we still gotta hit the next place later." Lin Tian said with a smile.

Wu Yong froze. "What do you mean? We’re hitting another gambling den?"

Then he got excited, clapping his hands as he said, "Good, good, good. But before, we never really got to enjoy ourselves before leaving. This time, let’s agree up front, we play for a while!"

Lin Tian shot him a glance and said irritably, "Did you forget why we’re going to these gambling dens?"

"No crap, of course I know. To win money!"

"You know jack shit!" Lin Tian rolled his eyes at him again, annoyed. "And besides winning money? Your brain... was never that sharp to begin with, now the gambling bug’s bitten you and that’s it, straight-up stupid."

Wu Yong slapped his own head and finally reacted, "Drug bust!"

"Now you remember?"

"Heh heh, yeah, I remember." Wu Yong nodded with a goofy grin, then suddenly felt something was off. He shivered and asked, "We’re doing the bust today? But my connections aren’t set up yet. If we just go bust in like this... we probably won’t nab anything."

Lin Tian really wanted to smack the back of this guy’s head, but he held back. With forced patience he said, "Do you even know how big their drug buying and dealing operation is? Do you know where their customers come from? Or what kind of drugs they’re moving?"

"Nope." Wu Yong straightforwardly nodded. "But all that, we can get Pang Yu to look into. That should be pretty easy."

"I want to see for myself." Lin Tian’s crafty eyes spun, and he said, "Here’s what we’ll do: you call Tian Ming and have him bring a few good fighters to wait near that gambling den. Find some excuse to go in and wreck the place, and we’ll use the chaos as cover to check things out."

Wu Yong was stunned for a moment. "We’re really wrecking it?"

"Of course. It’s not our turf. Smash it!"

"Got it!"

...

The three of them had a simple dinner: each had a bottle of ice-cold beer and some skewers. After eating, they headed for the third gambling den.

This gambling den was also in a very hidden spot. It was in an entertainment building: the first floor was a nightclub, and the gambling den was on the sixteenth floor. To get in and play, you didn’t need any VIP; once you exchanged for chips, you could go in.

Before Lin Tian and the other two went in, Tian Ming had already brought a few very capable brothers inside. They were lazily playing around, since they weren’t actually here to gamble today.

Before long, Lin Tian and the other two arrived as well. They didn’t exchange for many chips, just a hundred thousand each. After entering the gambling den they split up, each playing wherever they felt like. The stakes were small, only a thousand a hand, win or lose didn’t matter.

But the person in charge of this gambling den took Lin Tian and the other two very seriously—especially Lin Tian! The last two places had lost a fortune, not to mention the trouble this guy stirred up. He’d been terrified this bastard would show up, and sure enough... here the son of a bitch was!

Lin Tian was just playing mahjong when a middle-aged man in a white suit with slicked-back hair walked over. He was holding a tray in both hands, and there were some chips on it.

"Mr. Lin," the slicked-back middle-aged man called.

Lin Tian glanced at him and asked calmly, "What is it?"

"This is a small token of appreciation from XimeiXi for you." He set the tray beside Lin Tian as he spoke. Looking closely, there were a million in chips on it!

The three guys sitting at the mahjong table with Lin Tian all craned their necks and stared, stunned. XimeiXi was a ruthless man; they’d never heard of him trying to cozy up to anyone. Who the hell was this kid?

Lin Tian immediately grinned and tilted his head, asking, "What’s that supposed to mean?"

"XimeiXi said you’re an honored guest. This is just a small gesture; he hopes you enjoy yourself." the slicked-back middle-aged man said.

Lin Tian looked even more amused and asked, "So this is like paying to ward off bad luck?"
