Chapter 1213: The Stance of Each Major Family

After nearly half an hour, Lin Tian had written down the array diagram and the method for cultivating Spiritual Qi on paper, marking many important points, and then made a few copies with the printer. When people from the major families came to pick it up the next day, it was ready.

Once everything was settled, Lin Tian planned to return to Kanyue City.

Ever since the day he was injured, Lin Tian had been recuperating at Luoyan Dock for nearly a month. His body had mostly recovered, but a long period was still needed for full recuperation.

This process might take a long time, but he couldn’t just stay at Luoyan Dock forever, could he?

Before heading back, Lin Tian specifically carried two jars of wine to visit the Li family’s old residence.

Lin Tian’s reputation at Luoyan Dock was well-known, even to the point where the older generation showed him respect. Hence, the Li family didn’t dare treat his visit lightly. After being informed by the servants, the person in charge at Luoyan Dock, along with two Golden Core masters and Tieguai Li, came out to greet him, showing their considerable stature.

"Lin Tian Elder, what’s the matter?" Tieguai Li asked with a peculiar tone. He was quite familiar with Lin Tian, after having shared drinks many times, so naturally, he wasn’t too formal with him. However, he was somewhat resentful as Lin Tian had never revealed the brewing method of Zhou Gong Wine.

"Haha, I’m planning to head back, so I thought I’d drink with you, you lame guy, one last time. Who knows when the next time will be?" Lin Tian laughed.

Tieguai Li glanced at the two wine jars in his hand, his expression softened slightly, and he snorted lightly, as if saying: You know what’s what, kid.

Upon hearing he came specifically to drink with Tieguai Li, the person in charge of the Li Family and the two Golden Core masters exchanged pleasantries with Lin Tian before returning to their rooms. Lin Tian didn’t invite them, and they wouldn’t impose themselves on him either.

First, someone ordered a few small dishes, then Tieguai Li led Lin Tian to a room with good lighting.

Lin Tian placed the two wine jars on the table and said, "Guess, what wine is this?"

"Hmm?" Tieguai Li’s eyes suddenly gleamed as he attempted to unseal the jar but was stopped by Lin Tian, who said, "First guess, only if you guess right can you drink it."

Tieguai Li looked at the smile on Lin Tian’s face and suddenly lit up with joy, laughingly asking, "Could it be, Zhou Gong Wine?"

"Impressive old Li, you guessed it right."

"Hmph, my brain is more useful than yours. Can we drink now?"

Lin Tian moved his hand away from the jar and laughed, "Go ahead."

Although Tieguai Li was fond of liquor, he wasn’t crude. Instead of drinking directly from the jar, he poured a bowl for Lin Tian, then filled his own. After setting down the jar, he picked up the bowl and took a gulp, finishing half of it.

The fierce, fire-like alcohol rushed through his throat into his stomach, swirling around, before Tieguai Li grinned and exhaled deeply.

Bam!

Suddenly, Tieguai Li slapped the table, glaring at Lin Tian with eyes as big as bronze, ready to explode.

"You rascal tricked me, this is no Zhou Gong Wine! It’s burning knife instead!"

"Pff~" Finally, Lin Tian burst into laughter, clutching his belly. This fool was too easily tricked; as he laughed tears began to flow.

"What are you laughing at! Believe it or not, I’ll throw you out directly!" Tieguai Li’s head was almost smoking with anger.

Lin Tian shook his head, like a pig unafraid of boiling water, saying, "I don’t believe you. Why don’t you try?"

"..." Tieguai Li really wanted to slap himself for talking big. Now he was embarrassed. He hadn’t completed his Golden Core, so how could he be a match for Lin Tian? Saying he would throw him out was pure nonsense. Even if he could, the Li family wouldn’t allow such mistreatment of a guest.

Lin Tian picked up the wine jar, poured some for old Li, and then said, "Alright, don’t be sulky, acting like some lady when you’re a grown man."

Bam!

Tieguai Li slapped the table yet again. Did you hear that! Was this kid comforting anyone? He was clearly adding fuel to the fire!

Lin Tian smiled, indifferently saying, "Actually, besides coming to drink with you, I have a few questions I’d like to ask you."

"I don’t know!" Tieguai Li turned his head defiantly, mumbling in return.

Lin Tian reached into his pocket, took out a sheet of paper, and placed it before Tieguai Li, saying, "Look at this first. If afterward, you still say you don’t know, I’ll flip your Li family’s roof."

"Hmph!"

Tieguai Li snorted heavily. He wanted to remain stubborn and not touch the paper. But there’s a saying, ’Curiosity killed the cat.’ Who doesn’t have a bit of curiosity?

"Alright, I’ll take a look!"

Tieguai Li picked up the paper, gently shook it open, and after glancing at it, couldn’t peel his eyes away.

After browsing it twice, Tieguai Li, with a face full of surprise, asked, "Kid, is this really the brewing method for Zhou Gong Wine?"

"When have I ever tricked you?"

Tieguai Li glanced at the desk with the jars of burning knife, eager to retort, but considering the valuable paper in his hands, he decided to temporarily forgive him.

"You have some integrity, kid. What do you want to know, ask away. Old Li will be truthful and thorough."

"What’s the situation with the Wang Family now?"

"Heh." Tieguai Li grinned, "You’ve asked the right person. After you had tea in your yard yesterday, the Wang Family received the news. Mr. Wang, that old geezer, even tried to contact the major families, including ours, but met with cold shoulders. No one gave him any face, which really ticked off the old guy."

Upon hearing this, Lin Tian’s smile grew wider, acknowledging the families were at least tactful, on the surface.

"Also, last night, nearly twenty to thirty people died across Luoyan Dock. Can you guess why?"

Lin Tian sniffed, "Heh, old man, you’re trying to keep me in suspense. What’s there to guess? It’s obviously the undercover agents placed by the Wang Family within various families. I thought there’d be more than just twenty to thirty. Isn’t that too few?"

Hearing this, Tieguai Li rolled his eyes; what does it mean to speak without backing down? This was it!

"Pulling out this many is already quite impressive. All who could be killed were killed, just to ease your worries," Tieguai Li explained.

Indeed, those deaths were tied to Lin Tian. Even if informers were discovered, they wouldn’t necessarily be killed. The reason for doing so was to assure Lin Tian they had severed ties with the Wang Family.

After all, killing the Wang Family’s people meant a clear break, making future cooperation difficult, creating a barrier.

I did not kill Bo Ren; Bo Ren died because of me.

Regarding this outcome, Lin Tian was fairly satisfied.
