Chapter 1281: A Restless Room
After turning off the overhead lights, only a dim light by the bedside remained, casting an indescribable feeling across the entire room.
Lin Tian had a strange illusion, as if the passage of time was slowing down.
His hand lay flat under Mei Ruyan’s head, serving as her pillow, while Mei Ruyan clung to Lin Tian like an octopus, with half her body draped over him.
Although the four had all drunk some alcohol and played all day, their spirits were still high as they began to chat.
"Lin Tian, there are only two weeks left before the school holidays," Liou Qingcheng said.
Lin Tian paused for a moment; if Liou Qingcheng hadn’t mentioned it, he would have nearly forgotten he was still a student. Truth be told, he could count the number of classes he attended at Kanyue City Medical University on two hands.
To be honest, Lin Tian wasn’t very interested in attending classes. For one, there were twelve years from first grade to senior high school. He neither disliked nor liked attending classes.
Another reason was that now, as a freshman, the courses he was taking were foundational in nature, too basic to be of much use. Even if he were a graduate or doctoral student, those subjects wouldn’t be very useful to him. Frankly speaking, he knew more professional knowledge than those professors.
Liou Qingcheng continued, "You missed the exams at the end of last semester, upsetting some of the teachers. If you don’t attend a few more classes this semester, you might fail some subjects."
University grades always depend on comprehensive assessments. Two quizzes total 20%, midterm exams 20%, regular assignments and attendance 30%, and final exam scores 30%.
Remember, not all teachers are like Zhao Xuefeng, who is familiar with Lin Tian and has a favorable impression of him. They don’t necessarily need to show him any leniency.
So even if Lin Tian scores full marks in the final exams, his score would be only 30 out of 100, far from the passing grade of 60.
Liou Qingcheng said, "With two weeks remaining, you should go back to class. Leave a good impression on your teachers; avoiding failing any subjects is enough."
Bai Shishi commented, "I also think you should attend a few classes, at least to avoid failing. Otherwise, everyone will know you’re a famous ancient doctor, but upon seeing your records, they’ll find you only completed the course without graduating, which could be quite embarrassing."
Lin Tian turned to look at Liou Qingcheng, coincidentally meeting her gaze. As their eyes met, Lin Tian could see a hint of expectation in Liou Qingcheng’s eyes.
Seeing this, Lin Tian suddenly realized why Liou Qingcheng had given up dance academy to join him in applying for the Medical University. Wasn’t it to spend more time together, to attend classes hand in hand, and to be there for her whenever she needed care?
But thinking about it, apart from the opening weeks of last summer, he hadn’t really spent time at school with her.
He hadn’t held her hand showing affection, hadn’t been there for her during her period, hadn’t waited for her a few times outside her dormitory, hadn’t attended classes with her, and hadn’t even eaten at the school cafeteria.
She must be really disappointed, right?
Suddenly, Lin Tian felt a sharp pinch in his heart and blurted out, "Yes, I’ll go. And when I’m in my sophomore year, I won’t skip as many classes."
Liou Qingcheng looked at Lin Tian, sensing his thoughts as if telepathically connecting. Although she wanted to say a lot, only a single "Okay" managed to escape her lips.
Then, the conversation shifted to the Wang Group. Bai Shishi asked, "Do you think we should seize this opportunity and cause some trouble for the Wang Family? Once they recover, there might not be a chance this good again."
Lin Tian, while tracing one circle after another on Mei Ruyan’s smooth back under her pajamas, responded, "I think so too; weeds must be uprooted thoroughly."
Liou Qingcheng heard their conversation and grew anxious, urging, "You mustn’t act recklessly; consider your safety first."
Liou Zhengming and Yan Xinrou were both experienced in the business world, so having been exposed since childhood, Liou Qingcheng was aware of the industry’s dark side and naturally worried.
Lin Tian, understanding Liou Qingcheng’s concerns, chuckled, "Don’t worry, I’m not that foolish."
Liou Qingcheng smiled, pursing her lips and remarked, "I’m not so sure."
Lin Tian said, "The Wang Group is a big cake, but not everyone dares to take a bite. We shouldn’t be too obvious about it, just quietly make money like with Wang Sicong’s entertainment company before."
Bai Shishi asked puzzled, "How do you quietly make money?"
"Good question," Lin Tian teased before explaining, "Besides us, there are plenty of others targeting the Wang Family, and they will certainly strike and collaborate. The Wang Group won’t last long, so that 12% stock should be dealt with soon."
Bai Shishi persistently asked, "Who are they?"
"There are people with the surname Tan, Xu, and Yue, among many others."
"I still don’t understand; what you said is like saying nothing," Bai Shishi complained.
Mei Ruyan, being from the Ancient Martial the Xu Family, knew whom Lin Tian was speaking of but didn’t plan on clarifying for him, as her hands had already begun exploring Lin Tian’s body quite earnestly.
"I still don’t get it!" Bai Shishi said emphatically.
"Let me put it this way, Miaoqiu’s family will also participate, along with others you’ll learn of in a few days," Lin Tian replied, his tone suddenly becoming a bit odd, his breathing irregular.
Liou Qingcheng asked with concern, "Are you okay? Feeling unwell?"
"No..." Lin Tian replied with a single word.
Liou Qingcheng grew more curious, took a closer look, and realized from Mei Ruyan’s posture what was happening on Lin Tian’s bed.
Click!
The bedside lamp was turned off by Liou Qingcheng, followed by her saying, "Time for sleep."
Then the room was plunged into darkness and silence, but occasionally heavy breaths and rustling sounds could be heard.
As Liou Qingcheng listened, her face grew redder, her body warming and itching...
Soon, the rustling sounds grew louder, followed by altered breathing sounds, as if someone’s mouth was covered, unable to cry out.
This noise persisted for quite some time. Liou Qingcheng kept her hands over her ears attempting to block it out, but try as she might, she could still hear it.
Suddenly, all the sounds ceased, and the room fell silent. Yet Liou Qingcheng lay motionless on the bed, feeling sweat covering her body.
Just as she thought it was all over, someone leapt onto Liou Qingcheng and Bai Shishi’s bed, opened the blanket, and then... slipped inside.
