Hearing that Lin Tian was finally going to tell him the truth, LuuYong even forgot to light his cigarette. He clenched the lighter in a death grip, staring at Lin Tian with full attention, afraid of missing a single word.

"You know it too, I’ve got a lot of bad blood with the Wang Family. By now there’s no way to smooth things over. Those three card rooms in Kanyue City rake in astronomical numbers every day, and that really cuts into my other businesses in Kanyue City. Plus they’re trading contraband in there. This outcome was something LuuYong had already guessed, but hearing Lin Tian say it himself still gave him a jolt of fear and disappointment. The cigarette dangling from his lips almost fell off.

He hadn’t expected... he was still getting dragged into this whirlpool after all.

"Don’t freak out. This time we really are going there to play. Of course, you can understand it as going there to win money. If we want to topple all these card rooms, it’s not something you do just by talking. We have to go in and test the waters, and before that, win a big pile of cash." Lin Tian said with a grin.

LuuYong let out a long breath of relief and then said, "So it really is just going there to play..."

"What else did you think?"

Lin Tian nodded with a smile. "Yeah, and we’ll win a lot. A thief never walks away empty-handed. We may not be thieves, but we’ll follow the same rule. See that box in the back? We won’t even need to use much of that money."

LuuYong knew Lin Tian was a very capable man, and however he planned on winning, he definitely wasn’t going to tell him. Even if he did tell him, he wouldn’t dare use it. At the end of the day it was just cheating, and with his clumsy hands, if he got caught, they’d be taking more than a few fingers.

He also had another question weighing on his mind—if it wasn’t answered, he wouldn’t be able to calm down. So he asked bluntly, "But if we win that much money, they won’t just let us walk out, right?"

Lin Tian wasn’t in a hurry. He said slowly and leisurely, "I’ll teach you a few hand signals. When I flash a certain sign, you just do what it tells you."

LuuYong nodded dumbly, mumbling "okay" under his breath.

They chatted idly along the way and soon reached the entrance of the card room. Naturally, there had to be some kind of cover at the entrance; otherwise wouldn’t they just be waiting to get busted? Wu Yong laughed. "High-tech my ass. It’s just a door with a card reader embedded behind it. Doesn’t cost much. But for secrecy, it’s not bad."

While he was talking, the door had already opened. Behind it was indeed an elevator. There were buttons for eight floors. Wu Yong went ahead and pressed several floor buttons in a row, lighting them up before stopping.

"That’s my personal password. Everyone’s code is different. If you press the wrong combo that doesn’t match the magnetic card, you won’t get to the card room." Wu Yong said.

Lin Tian rolled his eyes twice and chuckled. "This card room is set up like some kind of secret base. Looks like their confidentiality is pretty tight."

"Of course. If it wasn’t tight, the people backing the Wang Family wouldn’t allow them to open a card room in Kanyue City. And they didn’t just open one, they opened three. They’ve really got some fucking nerve."

LuuYong stood behind the two men without saying a word. Back in the car, Lin Tian had already taught him several hand signs and eye signals, and he’d memorized them all. But his heart was still pounding—looked like he really was going to have to get on the table himself.

The card room was in the basement, so the elevator took only two or three seconds to descend. When the elevator doors opened, the noisy sounds outside and a clean, fragrant scent rushed in all at once. It was like the elevator door separated two completely different worlds.

"Heh heh, Wang Family card room, your daddy is back!" Wu Yong shouted loudly before he even stepped out of the elevator, letting out the swagger in his chest.

In this noisy environment, his shout didn’t attract anyone’s attention. The three of them walked out of the elevator, two in front and one behind. Aside from Wu Yong being excited and waving his hands around, Lin Tian and LuuYong were both sizing up this card room.
